Lets play guess the race....

The parents of a Wake County high school student are outraged that police pepper-sprayed him inside their home after a neighbor mistook him for an intruder.

It happened Monday afternoon on England Avenue in Fuquay-Varina.

Ricky and Stacy Tyler have fostered 18-year-old
DeShawn
Currie for about a year. The Tylers, their three young children and
DeShawn
moved to Fuquay-Varina in July. They said while they're still getting to know their neighbors, it's hurtful someone would assume
DeShawn
was a burglar just for going about his normal routine of walking home after school.

"He's my baby boy just as much as my other three children are," said Stacy.

I wish the people in this country would really start looking past race and see us all as Americans. Not everything has to be racism. They need to start calling the cops on every kid who walks into a house after just moving into the neighborhood. All of them.

I hope DeShawn makes a real life meme out of those racist fucks daughters

My 5-year-old last night, she looked at me and said, 'Mama I don't understand why they hated our brother, and they had to come in and hurt him.'
That right their breaks my heart.

how the fuck do you not know who your neighbors are
I've lived in my street for 10 years now, i know my 2 immediate neighbours (the houses directly beside mine) and that's it, i couldn't tell you anything about the people after that, in fact i don't think I've ever seen the people in the house 2 doors away ever.

Its quite common for people not to know everyone in their area.

from the article i'm less concerned about the cops conduct and more concerned by these shit fuck pansies calling the cops because they can't handle black presence

I wish names of everyone involved would be more common in these types of situations.

If that couple from the Walmart airsoft gun shooting can sleep without the fear of Anon-induced SWAT break ins there is no true justice
Why do you people always have to make everything about race? Can't you see we're all just human?

what do you mean, 'you people'

I like how the officers are trying to say 'but he was being belligerent and not following our instructions!'

...Yeah, that's kind of what happens when you bust into someone's home and say they're breaking in.

It's sad that my initital thought was that this was a "feel good" story because at least they didn't shot and kill him outright.

I'm not sure why everybody is jumping on the cops for this, they did what they were supposed to.

1. They get a burglary in progress call.
2. They find the dude inside the house just like the caller said.
3. They tell him why they're there.
4. He claims to live there.
5. Police look at the family pictures and see none of him, don't believe his story.
6. He gets increasingly mad(rightfully so, but still).
7. Cops try to remove him from the house.
8. He's non compliant and gets pepper sprayed.

I hate to break it to you guys, but the police didn't do anything wrong. They were trying to get him out of the house and he wouldn't go. Its pretty standard to get the person out first and figure the story out after because it's the safest way to handle the situation. What are they supposed to do just be like "ok Mr alleged burglar you say you live here. I know you can't prove you live here but have a nice day"?

I get that it's really easy as of late to jump on the anti-cop or racist cop bandwagon but damn. Don't be so quick to judge. Direct your outrage at the neighbors that called when he's lived there for a fucking YEAR.

I remember having someone call the police on me when I was sitting outside the house I had been living in for 10 years. Luckily nothing happened but it's a shitty feeling.

This is so sad and just another case of police incompetence hurting the lives of minority children. It wouldn't take a genius to parse what was happening. I mean investigative sense is a part of being a cop, right?

Hope the kid and family sue the officer for negligence and brush up on their stink eye for whoever called the cops.

Of course he was non-compliant. Those fucking pigs were trying to drag him out of his own house.

Do you think maybe they could have called the school or his mother to verify? Without trying to cuff him and pepper spray him? I know he's 18 but he wasn't armed nor was he a threat.

Sad, but I can't imagine what the police were thinking.

"Sir, I don't understand why you're sitting there watching TV in a home you broke into but here's some pepper spray"

I blame the neighbors way more than the police. They went off what they were told, got there, saw a black teen inside a house with pictures of white people on the walls. It got out of hand, but I'm not going to jump to the "racist cops" angle just from what we know.

Google "DaQuan meme"

Heh, you'd be surprised at how stupid some burglars are.

If what the cops did is by the books then it's hard to fault them. Yeah he has every right to be pissed about being accused of robbing his own home but why not just do what they say?

If cops told me to step outside my own house due to suspicion of burglary I'd be mad but I'd still do it. No one wins by challenging them and scarily enough, you don't know just how forceful they'll get if you defy them.

What?
"I HOPE THE BLACK GUY FUCKS THE SHIT OUT OF WHITEY'S FAIR-SKINNED BLONDE PROGENY! ONCE YOU GO BLACK YOU NEVER GO BACK!"

Is that what you're trying to say? Or is there some meme about cross-generational racial prejudices I'm unaware of?

I guess it says a lot about me if this is the only thing that comes to mind. :/

What people who think like this don't understand is that WE DON'T HAVE TO DO WHATEVER THE FUCK YOU SAY. You come into my house and tell me to leave? FUCK YOU. I don't give a shit that you've got a piece of metal on your chest. I don't care that you're wearing a blue costume. I am a human fucking being and I will not consent to any bullshit some madman on a power trip tells me to do.

I'm not trying to yell at you specifically. I'm trying to address this poisonous mentality that the human beings have to consent to whatever a police officer tells them to do. It's insane. They wearing a uniform - they're not gods. "The law says you have to"? Well the law is wrong. When did we give up our autonomy to words on a piece of paper? Why have we decided to stop thinking and ignore our morality because an Authority Figure told us to? I say no. This is bullshit and no one should have to put up with it. If no one did, this nonsense would finally end.

Yes. I hope he fucks their daughter if they have one and they have a mixed race love child. Maybe that way their racist ass beliefs about seeing a black person in a White House will go away.

It's definitely a trickier situation than normal Beograd police threads. If they told him to cooperate, and he was getting belligerent, then I understand the police's actions. I mean, they can't simply take a potential thief's word alone and just leave. If the guy was trying to show them he lives there and they pepper sprayed him to get him to stop, then yeah the cops are scumbags.

That and the fact that someone sees a Black male and assume he's a criminal.
