More time to hype this up for even more disappointment

Its gonna be some comic thing

Doing over 700 million $$$ is tanking now? I know it didn't do as well as Sony hoped, but 700 million is still a lot of money.

It went way over budget, and it had hundreds of millions of dollars thrown at it in terms of marketing. Without the merchandising rights, I doubt there was much profit in the venture for Sony.

For a SM film it vastly underperformed.

And they needed the film to spark off their new universe.

There is a realistic concern too with that total. American interest is shrinking and for Spiderman that is a bad thing as super hero movies in general have been growing. If Spiderman is in decline in America how long before the decline starts appearing elsewhere and drags the totals down even more.

Spiderman needs a shakeup that revives it in America and ensures a decline doesn't surface elsewhere

Haven't they usually been somewhere around 800 million at the box office? So over 700 million is hardly "tanked" or horribly underperforming. It's not the steep upwards trajectory all Marvel franchises are on, but it's still not _tanked_

My super duper hyper hype predicitions with 99.7% accuracy:
  • Spider-Man in the MCU in some fashion with a deal with Sony
  • Ridley in Smash 4 as DLC
  • Marvel vs Capcom 4 on PS4 Xbone with Star Lord and Mega Man.exe as the first revealed characters
  • Marvel x Star Wars
  • Marvel vs DC
  • Spider-Man in Smash 5
  • Alien Isolation is really good guys
  • Iron Man car in #Driveclub

You also have to look at the breakdown of worldwide compared to domestic. While the foreign market is increasing in importance, domestic totals are still significantly worth more due how much studios get back from the theaters and SM didn't exactly do well for a AAA franchise domestically.

nah, Miles wouldnt feel right

we're talking about movies, people dont know about Miles and it'd be like a fake spider man. they know peter parker

I dont think marvel would bother

if this is Spiderman, it's Peter, and it'd probably be Garfield too, with a Sony deal.
