Sony keeps Spider-Man movie rights while Marvel get rights to Spider-Man TV show.

Spider-Man live action series starring Andrew Garfield coming to Netflix in 2016.

This basiocally already happened. Marvel got back the TV rights and the merchandising rights, and Sony got an extension on their movie license. Its why Marvel is more cooperative with Sony than Fox, but also why Spectacular Spiderman was cancelled.

But again, It's way more likely, since NYCC is the more comics focused of the two major comic-cons by a fair amount, that this announcement is regarding a publishing matter, and will likely be announcing that the entire Marvel Universe is going to be Nu52'd.

Something like this is what will happen. Their current event Axis is going to be done in December (the final issue was already solicited a month ago). They need to start drumming up hype for the event that is spinning out of Hickman's Avengers run (which is about all of reality dying).

I have three dogs around me (two of which aren't even mine). This gif is a bummer.

How can it be the biggest thing Marvel announced in 2014 if it's comic related? A year where Thor is now a woman and a black Captain America?

It could be more character deaths from X-men and F4 as part of the Fox shutout. That is IF it's comic related. I'd say Spider-Man joining the MCU is the safest bet. If it's TV it's either about a new cartoon (USM Is SUPPOSEDLY done after Season 3) or something about the Netflix shows.

RDJ or Chris Evans joining Agents of shield as series regulars
Second worst idea I've heard in this thread. Both are too good for that show. (Saying this as a fan of the show). Not to mention it would ruin any sort of dynamic the show currently has.
And I have no idea if you're joking.

Disney lawyers find some legal loophole that means Fox only gets to use the X-Men characters if they're mutants. Reboots the whole universe to make them Inhumans.

I hope really this is comic related unless it ends up being that Spider-Man MCU thing and i don't see that happening now.
