Yeah, but some of the events will have issues missing or placed out of order. I recently read the Annihilation event, and there was a point where they left out a couple issues of Nova. Made the ending very confusing.

When Disney bought Marvel, they also arranged to take back the distribution rights to Iron Man 1, Iron Man 2, Thor, and Captain America (the MCU films, not the characters). All of these films were previously distributed by Paramount. As a result, these films are now sold by Disney and have Disney branding in many cases.

It seems that Universal still owns the distribution rights for The Incredible Hulk (the Ed Norton / MCU film).

Does anyone have any information on why exactly Disney got the distribution rights back for all the other MCU films but not this one? Is it just indifference, or did Universal overplay their hand, or what? Is there a known time where distribution rights will revert to Marvel, and thus Disney, if an agreement doesn't occur?

Also, has Disney gotten the distribution rights to any pre-MCU Marvel films?

From what I (partially) understand, the distribution rights don't really revert. The distribution rights for Avengers and other Phase one movies weren't part of the Disney/Marvel arrangement, but actually bought back at separate times -- Avengers back in 2010 and the Phase Ones in 2013. That seems to indicate that there were some negotiations behind the scenes regarding the purchase price.

Insofar as Universal is concerned, I don't believe there's any compulsion for Universal to sell the distribution rights back to Disney/Marvel. On the other hand, TIH wasn't exactly a best-seller so neither party may be particularly enthused with this property.
 
It is clearly Marvel buying back Jem and the Holograms from Hasbro.

Jem is truly, truly, truly outrageous after all.

It's not Marvel's fault that the music is contagious and that Jem is her name, Jem.

Damn, you can't really trust their reading order then, better look out the reading order online. Or...were the Nova issues really missing?

Anyway, $9,99 is a great deal IMO. I remember their old app where you would buy each issue for something like $3,99. Expensive but the app was really good
 
Female thor was ten times bigger news than this. How could they possibly consider this the biggest announcement of 2014?

the twitter annoucement? I think this was it. don't quote I could be wrong but I would think they wouldn't leave a big announcement to be announced after the first day of NYCCC is done.
on the other hand lips are about to get loose because all the journalists are about to get their drink on and we may hear stuff later.

Following up on their announcement of a new Secret Wars by the creative team of Jonathan Hickman and Esad Ribicl aunching in May of 2015, Marvel gave out the first details to USA Today.

Marvel Senior VP of Publishing Tom Brevoort called Marvel Super Heroes: Secret Wars "overwhelming huge," describing it as the "biggest thing" Marvel's ever done.

Brevoort went on to state that Secret Wars has been on the drawing board as far back as 2012 when Hickman took over the Avengers and New Avengers titles.

An image accompanying the article, painted by Alex Ross, depicts multiple versions of Marvel's top heroes -- Captain Americas, Thors and Iron Men -- as well as other notable heroes as well as some relative unknowns.

According to Brevoort, none of the characters depicted in the Ross image is random and all are pulled from Marvel's 75-year publishing history.

"However massive you think this is," Brevoort says," let me assure you it is bigger than that. It's by far the craziest thing I've dealt with."

maybe they all nearly kill each other off and the survivors from each universe merge into one? I don't know! i'm sure they'll tell us more tomorrow. they can't possibly think people are suposed to get excited over a title.

what kind of a battle is that? the ultimate world is already bombed out and depleted. marvel could send in random people in to handle that situation

The thing that started Comic cross-over events. They pretty much made the original to boost sales over all comic lines at the time, and it worked.

I do have a feeling this event will only have characters Marvel has the movie rights too, so they can easily turn it into a movie later on down the road.
 
About an hour ago marvel mentioned that the announcement was coming much later tonight, 40 minutes later secret wars starts to pop up. Makes no sense if that's the biggest announcement of 2014

Considering what happened in issue 10 of Avengers, I'm not surprised.

i don't know, I haven't read any Ultimate.

Ultimate could end up getting heavy hitters from other universes because they realize 616 is too damn strong and they need to work together.

look i don't really care, it's just really easy to write in some random crap to make Ultimate a threat.
