So October has been great so far for Horror fans, SEGA managed to create a ALIEN game that has trounced everything in the series and a impressive GOTY contender, while Shinji Mikami will release a spirtual successor to RE4.

The hardest part was choosing for some, so I wanted to know which one you got? Or did you get both/neither and why?

I mainly picked up Alien Isolation because for some reason it looked promising and hell it's been amazing so far, just got up to chapter 6 and it feels like a fantastic stealth game where it's a cat and mouse game, I'm still on tenderhooks when I'm hiding from the Alien its's amazing. What's most appreciated is that the game is so truthful to the source material that it's scary, let alone the fact you can play through the movie scenes in ALIEN in the game was just jaw dropping. I probably will pick up TEW but I have no idea if my PC can play it well.

Waiting for reviews on Evil Within, Alien has been pretty great so far, I just hate feeling so helpless, I know that's the point.

but the only weapon I have is the revolver but it might as well be a cap gun.

Hopefully I get some gear to even the odds soon.

I'm waiting on the PC version of Evil Within. Once people can confirm the framerate can be uncapped from 30 without breaking the game, I will get that also.

Grabbing Evil Within since I'm not in the mood for a hide and seek style game right now but as a massive Alien fan I will be picking up Isolation eventually.

Want both but I don't currently have the budget for that right now so I'm probably going to pick up Alien Isolation as I tend to like first person horror games more these days.

I'm going to wait and see how TEW does before I make my decision though.

I picked up the Evil Within. I would still like to check out Alien sometime but with all of the games this month and next I can't justify both. I have been looking forward to The Evil Within for quite a while and am more in the mood for a actiony horror than a stealth hiding type horror.

I bought Alien day one because impressions seemed positive enough and copies were going for cheap. I'm much more excited for The Evil Within due to Mikami, but since I have no idea how it's going to run on my computer, I'll wait until day one to decide. If it's a garbage port I'll pick it up on PS4.

The Evil Within all the way, i really don't like the games where you are a defenseless blob that just walks and hides.

Not saying that alien isolation is bad, but is not my kind of game.

The moment you give yourself some form of significant defense in a survival horror title is the moment where your game takes the horror out. What's the point of being frightened when you have a gun.

In survival horror you're supposed to be defenseless. Anything and everything can kill you with ease. There is no /fighting back./

So, I'm buying Isolation. Because it's Survival Horror. And it's a /good/ Alien game. When was the last time we got one of those?

I'm starting to want TEW but the PC port problems are making pretty meh to me. I hate moding games to get them to a reasonable standard of playability. Plus I'm not sure how my 2GB VRAM is going to work out with that, and buying PS4 version just feels like conceding defeat, I don't want to pay full price for that either way.

I'm interested in both, but both have their issues that are making me hold off (I despise run n' hide games like Amnesia and it seems Alien is closer to one than I expected). I'm not very "seasonal" in my playing so I don't mind missing the shpooky games for halloween.

Evil within is still horror, just because you get weapons, and can defend yourself, doesnt mean its not horror

So Fatal Frame isnt horror? Or Condemned? Or System Shock 2? Or Silent Hill? Or REmake?
