Honestly, it's probably the only new thing they announced that has a price to fit the quality and whatnot of the device.

This I will full agree with.

Out of all the stuff announced the true gem of this all will the 64 bit project denver chipset combined with Android L and full 64 support.

The supposed $490 for 32GB seems a bit too high a jump from the 16GB one, but still better price and quality than an iPad.

Funny thing is.... I want one, but I've barely used my Nexus 7 (2012) in the past few months. I would like a new one though, because it's better than a desktop.

Is there any truth to the price of the keyboard for the Nexus 9?

I thought the point of the nexus was flagship features at a reasonable price
I guess the allure of apple money is too strong

No, that only started happening recently with their newer devices. The older devices like Nexus One, Nexus S, Galaxy Nexus, etc were priced at flagship prices.

I'm tempted to get the Nexus 9, but I'll be honest - I really don't find tablets all that useful these days.

I'd rather get a Chromebook at this point, and that's what I might end up doing.

Six fitty? No fucking way, might as well get that Nexus 5 while I can.

Fucking hyped now!
Since I was no longer interested in the N6, I finally decided to call Google to repair my cracked screen on N5. I was expecting to pay 150$, but they just told me they're replacing it for free.

Hah, yeah. I think I might just accidentally drop a hammer on my current Nexus 5 in the near future.

Here are the issues with this particular Nexus.

Made by Moto - Google still owns Moto, as the sell to Lenovo has not gone through. Other OEMs where not particularly happy with Google buying up Moto and making their own hardware. They don't mind getting under cut if the phones are actually being made by one of them (Samsung, LG, HTC, etc).

Google wants more real state in OEM phones across the board - You can't have your cake and eat it too. Why should OEMs give Google more pre-install apps, and Google Now launcher on their devices if they going to turn around and under cut them using Moto?

Once Lenovo takes over Moto, maybe we can get another Nexus device built by them with some subsides prices.

But like someone else said in this thread (BertramCooper), the Nexus 5 will probably be the affordable version of the phones

Holy hell that's expensive.

Never planned on affording the N6, but I hope N5's prices still manage to get driven down a little. Would love to replaced my cracked S4 with that sometime before the end of the year.

The Nexus 9 looks fantastic but that price is just too close to the full sized iPad, I'd rather just pay the slight premium and get that. If they could have brought it out at $300 for the base model that would have been amazing.

Understandable that people will pass cause of the price. However, I'm not surprised at the $650 price tag, I was surprised at the cheaper nexus 4 and nexus 5 prices. Hopefully the high price will also go into being high end. Have no problem paying for quality.

With that being said tho, I wanna see some hands on before I jump into the water.

I really, really wish that the Nexus 9 had expandable storage. :(
The most annoying thing about Nexus devices. You can work around it by getting a micro-USB to USB converter and an app that will recognize the device. It is still really a dumb design I agree.

Can someone explain to me why Google has the same name for their phones and tablets?
They just stuck with Nexus as the name for their product line. Really nothing else to explain.

There's Nexus 4, 5, 6, 7, 9 and 10.

When will we see Nexus 8?
I could see them making an 8-inch tablet if they bring back the budget tablet.

Price was what separated the Nexus brand from the rest. I'll just go ahead and buy a 5 when they are back in stock.

Those prices are disappointing. It seems like the times of Google offering top of the line devices for cheap is gone.

Such a shame. Seems I'll keep holding on to my tablet and my Moto G since this is too expensive for me.

Because they want to focus on the software rather than the hardware? At it's core, the concept behind nexus, to me, has always been that the device is almost irrelevant. A nexus experience is centered on the pure Android experience.

No one is going to buy this shit for 650 off contract.

It's still a pretty great price for a phone of this stature though. Only when you compare other Nexus phones to their price points is it disappointing.

My N5's screen and back camera are cracked, so I was pretty set on replacing it with the N6, 6-inch screen be damned. But at 650$ (probably more for us Canadians), I guess I'll stick with my broken N5 lol.

googy pls
