I genuinely can't tell if Coulson and May relationship has romantic or just deep friendship undertones.

This...pleases me.

They have deep respect, complete trust, and care a lot for each other. Whether they were intimate or not some time in the past doesn't really matter. They have brains intimacy, and that's much more important.

Simmons did nothing wrong. How is this even a question?

Idk. Apparently some people think she was obligated to stay with him and/or fall in love with him because he saved her life and got brain damaged because of it.

She took care of him for a great deal of time and just couldn't bear seeing him that damaged while knowing he was pining for her the whole time. I don't blame her for getting some space.

Another great episode. It was filler, but it was fun. May and Coulson were great.

Like the dynamic between Coulson and Talbot as well.

Based May with her fighting style

This is the reason I hate where they took the Fitzsimmons story. In fact where they took all the pairings. It's like romantic subplots are the only thing they can think of doing with the characters. I wish they would do a something a little less obvious.

I'm honestly finding his minion more creepy. The moment where he told May that she must comply gave me the chills. But he's also had more screentime.

they're both creepy. It's just that Whitehall is creepier to me because you don't know what he's thinking, you don't know what he's capable of. He doesn't object to getting his hands dirty, but he has a lot of minions to do his bidding before you can get to him... so he's a bit of an enigma. He looks creepy, arrogant and absolutely dangerous. Hope he doesn't die in a pathetic way.

Yeah I was bummed when I thought he was legit Hydra, felt like it was a waste to make all of SHIELD's foils into Hydra agents, I liked him being a government man, and not actually evil. Was relieved when it turned out to be a disguise.

Yeah, I'm so glad that turned out to be a red herring. It would have been too much to lose Talbot in the same way.

I can't believe how much better this season has been, though. New villain is definitely great. I'm enjoying all of his scenes. The only thing I thought was stupid this episode is that they clearly should have killed Agent 33. She new sensitive information, was an enemy agent, and tried to kill them both. Any spy worth their salt should have probably killed her. But whatever. Plot device.

Of course they can't kill her. They're the good guys, they don't murder people.

Unless they are going to implode an island, or if they've already been killed and received a robotic upgrade despite it.

#May²

The only duff thing about Agents Of SHILED this season is the dude playing Tripp is still a spectacularly awful actor. Wooden as fuck. He stinks up the show every time he's on screen.

It's not even that he doesn't have much material to work with. Mac and Lance have similar amounts of screen time and yet mange to, you know, act and show emotions and range and shit.

?

What has Tripp gotten this season on the level that Mac and Lance got? It's not all about screen time.

He wasn't even there for the bro-down.

He's underwritten, imo on purpose because he's supposedly in AoU.

I actually don't know what Tripp does, besides standing there, smile, spout some oneliner or cool stuff and be a friendly dude. I thought he was going to be Ward's replacement as the "muscle" of the group but it seems Trainspotting got that role instead.

I hope we can see him do something. I have nothing against the actor, I just think he has been severly underutilized so far.

I'm super curious to see what he's up to in AoU.

Yup they need to give Tripp something to do because at the moment he is just background scenery. As for what he is doing in AoU, I hope he is playing his own grandfather. Just as a twist to what everyone is expecting.

I think we'll see him come through with something big before long. There's really only been one mission that was a 'normal' mission that he could be in the field for and he got Iced along with the rest of the team by Trainspotting.

Going into my dream world again... Mack never referenced the genders of his exes, so maybe he's gay!

*fantasizes*

Hey, there's no reason to think that ambiguity isn't on purpose.

The "reveal" didn't stop Agron on Spartacus from becoming even more badass afterwards.

I hope so.

Agron is like, the best ever. Dan Feuerriegel needs to be cast in some super hero show. (Though it would likely be Arrow/Flash, since they love to cast Spartacus vets.)

Oh I thought they did say it was female?

I hope he's gay and that they pair him with Fitz
Nope, all he said was "all my exes love me." And then Hunter mentioned him having to pretend to like quinoa. No gender pronouns.

I don't want to get my hopes up, but this is a Whedon show and they love to hint at stuff. Plus, Henry Simmons is hotter than the sun.

*wishes on a star~*

Too far. He should be the first one on the team that really connects and listens to Fitz without having a thing for him too.

It might even be a little cringey for them to imply that he's the "sensitive big guy" just because he's gay, but they and the actor could make it work.

I hate that they turned Fitz into being in love with Simmons. They act and even look related.

Should have been purely platonic on both sides.

I'm trying to say that I'm of two hearts about the writers deciding Mac's sexuality. On the one hand I think it would be great, on the other I wouldn't want the audience to go "Oh OF COURSE the guy who is all sensitive to Fitz's condition is gay". On the nose it feels stereotypical, but I also think that the writers and actor are talented enough to not have it come across that way. They've already made it clear that masculinity and sensitivity aren't two ends of a spectrum, which I do really like.

I don't think you need to worry about that at all.

Was it already mentioned, that a Marvel special will be aired in November instead of SHIELD on the day of the midterm elections.

The most recent episode was credited to Drew Z. Greenberg, who wrote for Buffy, etc.
This episode felt like a good Buffy episode to me, great mix of various elements.

Yes I know that the credited writer is far from being solely responsible for an episode,
but here it totally fit for me.

Damn I was hoping they would've recovered the mask for future use.
I am happy that the episode set up rules for using the mask.
That more or less explains, why it can't be used everytime.
To a certain degree it even adds to Winter Soldier (imagine Black Widow doing preparation with Jenny Agutta)

Filler episode up until the last two scenes, but it was really well-paced and fun so I don't mind.
It was a bit filler-ish but it had enough character development (well... at least for this kind of show) to keep it meaty.

I do not really understand this filler-thing. Why do think this episode is filler?

He told her how he felt about her. She didn't feel the same way. She left.

She's only a bitch if you're wearing a fedora.

She didn't even left because of him. She left to do SHIELD work so the "leaving" part doesn't even make sense if someone wants to call her a bitch.
