This series and Rogue One are the best original Star Wars content since the first trilogy. Really enjoyed it, even more than I expected to. A focus on adult storylines, with grounded actors and no over the top woke elements.

Quite depressing just how horrendous Episode 9 in particular (never mind the terrible TV stuff like Acolyte) in comparison.

Late to the party, but finally got around to watching Season 2. The first three eps were a bit weak overall, but it quickly gets better from there, and the back half of the season is uniformly great. Episode 8 is unsettling in how well it depicts a manufactured riot. You can easily imagine a real-life tyrannical government provoking something similar as a pretext for some violent act of suppression.

I also think the whole imperial bureaucratic hierarchy is fascinating to see in action. A guy like Orson Krennic scares the living hell out of anyone whose station is beneath him, but as we know from Rogue One, he's far less intimidating when dealing with the likes of Tarkin and Vader. And then you have Partagaz, who seems like a pretty fair guy to his subordinates, but then you have the heinous stuff on Ghorman that he's directly authorizing.

Hopefully this isn't the last we see of this kind of storytelling in Star Wars.
