The Nexus 9 specs seem extremely good and while it has been a great servant, my 2012 Nexus is on its last legs. £300+ for 16GB is a hard pill to swallow but yeah... those specs. I'm quite interested in the Nexus Player too.

It's what I'm learning towards as well, it's just a tough call for me. All that new device jazz and what not.

Are the OPO's easier to get now? I've been out of the scene for a while lol

OPO invites are pretty easy to get if you come to the invite thread in community or spend a couple of hours talking on the one plus forums.

Honestly, for the size, quality, and speed of the internals, it's definitely worth the price. I'm probably gonna go for the 32GB one. Sand would be a good color.

Yeah I'm looking forward to seeing some benchmarks. If it really sings then I might splash out on a 32GB one as well.

The Snapdragon 805 isn't much of an upgrade from the 800 in the N5 so you won't notice much of a difference. However, going from the 600 in my One M7 to the N5 is a noticeable improvement.

Yeah, that price has pushed me far away from impulse buy territory. Here in Australia I can easily expect the 32GB to be $700+, which is basically the cost of SGS5. I'd rather just go get a contract.

OnePlus One is looking like my go to phone now as my Nexus 4 is on its last legs. Be a massive upgrade, and barely any difference from the Nexus 6. Silly Google, trying to play in the big league. Doubt any Australian tele is going to offer it on a contract.

I applaud Google for trying to push their image forward, I do, but it was the "not rape you on ridiculous profit margins" that really got me digging the line in the first place. The fact that Google was using it's brand to push the others around a bit was pretty awesome. This price point just makes it all the more challenging, and as you mentioned, pulls it out of impulse territory.

I really want an N6, but $650 could get me more than just a phone, and that's my problem.

Any other great AMOLED phones out there for sub $400? :P

That will be their biggest problem. People see that price tag and go "well, if I just sign up to a tele provider I'll get all the bonuses of being on a plan with the phone." Unless this price tag now makes them worthy of being on a contract in Australia, no one is going to touch it. I don't know many people who have actually bought any of the high-tier phones outright, so it seems like a suicide run.

Had they priced this at the $400 range it would have murdered any and all competition.

Yup yup, at $400 bucks I'd have been all over this.

Nexus 6 is tempting. I'd switch my HTC One M8 for it.

This phone is galaxy note size though, and I've never had a phone that big before.

N9 with keyboard and the player pre-order tomorrow.

Can finally move off of this iPad. Was a fun experiment but I'm so happy I'm going back to being all Google. Also happy I waited, almost bought the Tab S last week.

Interested in the n9, and I'm willing to sell my iPad air for it, but should I hold off till Black Friday? It shouldn't be sold out and there has to be deals for it right? I've never bought a nexus before.....

The HTC m7 with google edition is as fast as nexus 5, the only reason why it was so laggy is because of sense 5. Almost every skinned phone suffer from performance problems compared to stock android.

Is the Nvidia Shield tablet 64bit?

I got the 2012 Nexus 7 and wants to upgrade to the Shield Tablet but now with the Nexus 9 being announced i'm split between the 2.

Not unless you have something like Note 4 or galaxy S5. Note 4 is buttery smooth.

I converted my One M7 to a GPE. I get OTA updates and everything.

What are you going to use the specs on? App coverage on android tablets isn't great, and most will be optimised for 16:9 screens. It might take a year for things to settle down on the app front, by which time the next nexus will be out.

Why not grab a cheap nexus 7 2013 model and wait for next year?

Nexus 6 looks like a great device. It sure is very big and it's no longer in the so-cheap-it's-crazy category for the performance you get, but the design, the huge battery sound very appealing to me.

Moreover with Nexus 7 and Nexus 4, I realize that I'm not going to carry both to work or with me and if I can replace them with one device, it's a great opportunity. The only problem is that, as usual, getting this model in Switzerland will take AGES, even though we have Play Store, I somehow doubt we're in 28 first markets for Nexus release.

Fingers crossed.

Seeing it now, buying Nexus 5 last year when it was launched was the best thing I could have done.

Nexus 6 is too big for me and there's not a new Nexus 5 and it's even at the same price.

Can't wait for lollipop

I'm not interested in a 6 inch phone sadly (nor a AU$700+ one either). I was really hoping for an upgraded N5, but that didn't happen.

I am tossing up between a Nexus 5, Moto G 2014, Moto G 4G, or Moto X 2014. Either that, or waiting for a Moto G 2014 with 4G...

I desperately need a new phone too. My Galaxy Nexus is on its last legs!

Why should Google sell a phone for $400 that has hardware other companies charge $700 to $800 for?

The allure of the Nexus line (4, 5, and 7 anyway) was that they had really high-spec devices that were extremely competitively priced.

Guess Google has shifted away from that strategy now though, which is a real shame. I was previously thinking about getting the Nexus 9, but not at that price. And the Nexus 6 will break my streak of Nexus phones whenever I decide to upgrade. Oh well.

Because that's not what he wants to do.

No inductive charging?

Built in!

It's not as if N5 wasn't modified from LG G2 to make it cheaper. I love my N5 but the crappy speaker really annoyed me for the first few weeks. And it still does whenever I hear my wife's OPO. I think Google realized they may need to start position these as higher end model because many Chinese alternatives are going to out shine them with potentially better experience (imo cyanogenmod is much better than stock).
