I've been using my N10 almost every day for nearly two years and I think 16:9 for a tablet doesn't work all that well. It's better for videos (you'll get black bars at the top and bottom watching 16:9 movies on a 4:3 screen) but not ideal for reading, browsing, or one-handed use.

I'll still wait and see if 5.0 improves the performance and battery life of the N10 in any meaningful way, but the N9 seems like a clear upgrade to me.

After having a Surface Pro 3, 2:3 needs to be more adopter for tablets, its right in between and really is the best of both.

Nexus player is only an extra $10 here in Canada. Seems available for preorder now. About to pull the trigger I think. Says it ships in about 4 weeks.

Edit: $17 shipping! Haha fuck off Google. I'll wait.

No price difference between Amazon and the Play Store - see no reason why I shouldn't order off Amazon if I'm a Prime customer, right?

Why the fuck are keyboard cases so butt-fuckingly expensive?

I would rather buy a Corsair K70 Mechanical Keyboard over that fucking thing. And it would last longer.

Proprietary, which means the manufacturing costs are higher, and they include their own batteries.

Then add a nice profit margin on top.

Voila.

Although I am skeptical of the screen size I am very interested in trying out a Nexus 6 in store when its out. It's still on my potential upgrade list depending on how it feels in the hand..

- username is from Blade Runner ;)

Maybe I'm just bitter, but I'd advise against ordering the keyboard case if you're interested. Google's N7 case was, for $50, a piece of shit.

Edit: But the non-keyboard case actually looks decent, if still a bit high compared to what you'll find on Amazon. $10 less than the N7 case and actually has magnetic wake/sleep...

No UK pricing on the 6 yet? Since the factor between US/UK pricing on Nexus 9 is 0.8-0.83 we could be looking at £520-£540 for the 32GB model.

While I like that the keyboard is fully mechanical, the size to me seems like it will be a major issue. My mom has a Logitech keyboard for her iPad Air and that thing is just way too tiny for me and cuts a lot of corners to fit everything on it, lot of alt func for keys like Tab/A on the same one and so on. While the N9 keyboard actually looks to be a full keyboard the fact that the N9 is smaller than the iPad Air means the keyboard will be too. I don't have very big hands, but I don't even like keyboards on stuff like 13 inch laptops and can't stand using the keyboard on my dad's 11" chromebook.

Man this sounds ridiculous but I want a tablet to read in the bath. Is the xperia line my only option?

yes, as far im concerned. and not only for reading if you know what i mean

i need to get some kind of mount though for my z1 and z2 tablet, im living in the danger zone where i hang them currently

I just realized the 16GB N9 is $399. Why Googy, why?

The Tegra K1 Denver (64bit) paired with the 192-core Kepler GPU is the fastest mobile architecture in existence if I'm not mistaken. Add in 8.9" of QHD IPS display, 6700mAh battery, and an aluminum bolstered chassis and I think that they're offering some very nice tech (and probably build quality) at $399.

Keep in mind that the Nexus 7 was much more middle of the road spec-wise when it debuted at its very attractive price point.

Nexus 9 preoreder open on Australian play store. Again we get screwed on pricing...

479 for 16gb wifi
589 for 32gb wifi
719 for 32gb LTE

No sand colour available as yet.

Keyboard cover is 129$? WTF seriously WTF?

These are some Apple tier prices. What the fuck happened to Google? First hardware, and now accessories.

Fuck this shit.

I've looked at logitech keyboard cases for a while and the size is what puts me off. They remind me of my wife's samsung NC10 netbook which was godawful to type on. If you have to compromise on typing speed due to the size, you might as well just type in the screen.

I have an apple wireless keyboard I hardly use - would be good to have a slipcase for that and just use it for typing - I assume a standard bluetooth keyboard would work on the nexus too?

Jesus Christ that is expensive. It is certainly giving me pause for thought. I need a new tablet to replace my N7 (2012) which is having digitiser problems, slow downs and the USB port just decided to not work (charging the tablet using the Asus dock). But still 300 quid is a bit excessive for my tastes.

I think at this point I might just go with Nvidia's Shield tablet, the £239 pricing looks far more attractive to me than the £319 for the N9. Only problem is I have zero faith in any long term OS support for the Shield from Nvidia.

Take a look at the Xiaomi Mipad if you want extra storage from a microsd.

WTF 90 euros for more 16gb? Go fuck yourself Google.

Just printed out a scaled image of the N6 and taped some cardboard to it.

BTW the PhoneArena N6 render is inaccurate. It's about 3mm too tall and 2mm too wide.

No sand color at the moment. Guess I'm not going to consider it right now then.

Seems like there won't be any 16GB version in Sand. I was looking for sand, but won't pay 80$ extra for 16 more gigs to get sand version
