I am able to get the the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 16gb for $300 open box and I am debating between thw Nexus 9 and the tab. One big disadvantage that Nexus 9 seems to have is no micro SD slot. What major advantages does the Nexus 9 have over the tab?

Android L, no TouchWiz, and the most powerful mobile chip in existence right now. No fucking question get the Nex9.

I'm going to check out the Nexus 9 when they have displays set up. I am really interested in what Samsung does with it's Note line up of tablets.

In my opinion a tablet with a stylus is a whole different beast.

What type of maintenance?

I have had one for a couple months now and haven't had to do anything special. It's a great phone overall (compared to my N5 it has much better speakers, camera, and battery - routinely lasts 36 hours with heavy usage) but the overall experience is not as polished (when you hold down the Power button there is a "Reboot" option for a reason - at least it reboots really fast and is only needed about 1-2 times per week).

Invite from which thread? I'm still using a Galaxy SIII. It is about time to upgrade.

I love mine but am still getting a Nexus 6 as well. Unless the N6 is just too big or something, my OPO will either become my backup phone or I will sell it and use my N5 as a backup.

I really look forward to seeing the nexus6 in reviews.
Hopefully they come soon.

Yeah, I just want to see more pics of it in the wild and to get impressions of how grippy or slick the backing is. As long as the phone has some tackiness then 6" one handed use should not be a problem.

The material design of lollipop was just enough to push me back to android.
This is what ios7 should have been.
My only problem is how many apps won't be upgraded to ART and how many will take advantage of material design?

The one plus invite thread in community. It might take a little bit longer to get one now though since demand has gone way up since Nexus 6 reveal.

Thanks both of you. Very helpful. Will check it out.

I ended up printing out 1:1 scaled image of the 6 and taped it to some cardboard. It's huge. I'm too use to holding my 4S with my pinky under it to make sure I don't drop it, so I'm not sure I can get used to this.

Where did you get the scaled image? I'd like to try this too.

I'm very tempted to ditch my tablet and Nexus 5 and consolidate to a Nexus 6. Most of the time I sit at home and use my phone while my iPad just sits there.

The maintenance you'd have to do is dealing with bugs that may occur if you're the type to tinker with your phone due to cyanogenmod. But nothing too bad.

You can adjust to the size after awhile. The 4s is a pretty small phone so your hand is still used to the small size of it.

I got it from the Android subreddit.

Yeah. It probably doesn't help that the cardboard is too light and wobbly, so I can't really get a good feel for how the weight of it will make it sit in my hand.

This seems as good a thread as any to ask, is it still worth buying a Nexus 5 and Nexus 10? I would be able to pick up the tablet for a great price pre-owned and I've found a decent contract for the phone.

This will be the first time I've owned either a smartphone or tablet so I'm not entirely sure I need to immediately go for the most expensive and powerful stuff, just in case you were thinking of asking what I like in these kinds of devices.

ART is a runtime, abstracted away from app developers. When the final version of ART is out, all current apps will work on it without any changes necessary.

As if 6“ wasn‘t enough the bezel is GIGANTIC.

Compared to what? I thought it was pretty good, and this seems to say its average at worst.

Found this on /r/Android.

God, that looks so drop dead sexy. Current N5 owner here, absolutely love the size (big hands), and love the high specs.

I also flashed Lollipop on my N5 today...it's a true beauty.

So what do you say, GAF? Midnight Blue or Ghost White N6? I personally hate white devices, so midnight blue it is.

Motorolla trying to out do the nexus logo just ruins it. Looks like a FIFA jersey.

Has anyone said anything about the brightness of the screen on the Nexus 6? That was my one major complaint with the Moto X 2014 coming from an iPhone. Also, is the unlocked phone going to be on Amazon like the Nexus 9?

Just sold my iPhone 6 and waiting for the nexus6 to hit the UK.
What pisses me off about Apple is that I don't own a Mac and features such as apple pay will take far to long to get here, we're still waiting on iTunes radio FFS.
Also their cloud capabilities and features are way behind Google.

Jesus, and i thought i was crazy for selling my Nexus 5 after only owning it for 7 months. How long did you own it for, like a week?

I tend to think Apple's gold finish is a little tacky, but that sand Nexus 9 really hits the mark. Get Play Store Devices to New Zealand already, Google.

I would imagine it would be similar to the Motorola X 2014 screen.. Especially since moto just doesn't do screens nearly as well as Samsung or Apple.

Google may have accidentally made the Oneplus the most popular must have phone of the year. F**king ironic.

Outside of a very small, tech-savy internet group, no one even knows the thing exists, and even a lot of people who know it are not interested because of Cyanogenmod.
It wishes it would be as must-have as any Nexus.
