Gears of War Marcus Fenix Collection coming to Xbox One? Phil Spencer retweets

VGX announcement? Lol highly doubt it but I can't wait to see this confirmed. If somehow they managed to get all 3 games at 1080p/60fps I will go nuts.

Unless MS feel they need to announce something to counter the Sony event in December (unlikely, in my opinion) then I doubt we will see much at VGX. Quantum Break might be there again but not much more

Digital instabuy if true. Master Chief Collection plus Marcus Fenix Collection always there on the dash would pretty much justify my whole xb1 purchase.

I'd probably get this. While I do like to make fun of Gears of War for its buff macho cast of characters, ultimately Gears 1 was my formative, quintessential MP game of last gen and I really did put a lot of hours into it.

If the collection was well done, I'd probably get it.

If they fix matchmaking in competative multiplayer, then this is a remake I can get behind. It was basically impossible to get a good game of Gears of War 2 going when it launched.

Hot damn. Games I've already bought and played to death, up-rezzed and sold back to me for full-price? Sign me up. I don't want or need new games, so don't you dare waste time, money or talent developing them. In fact, as soon as you finish, start remaking them again for the next console. Day one.

Hell for me personally I would love if we got actual rooms again like in Gears 1.
I remember all the flak the game got for not having matchmaking, but nowadays having a server menu is so much better.

Generation of remasters. It makes sense cause Black Tusk can get to grips with the IP, use assets for remaster and Gears 4 both, make the IP remain relevant. If they wait three years until Gears 4 is out nobody might care anymore. All this remastering does however show that this gen game development takes a loooot more time.

The Gears games would be drop dead gorgeous on the XB1. This would without a doubt add another heavy hitter to MS Fall 2015 lineup.

Shit. Listen up. This is what y'all need to do:

Just give us Gears all three campaigns and Gears 1's MP, with every map, character and weapon skin from Gears 2 and 3 and call it a day. I guess redesign the Gears 1 maps to work with/ accommodate Horde and Beast too. Again, all in 1080p, 60 fps, revamped art, audio and visual assets, matchmaking along with Gears 1's host/ client setup, dedicated servers, host migration, Player Match and custom map cycles.

BOOOOM. Best game ever made right there. Make it happen.

I really hope this happens. Gears was easily my favorite MP game of last gen and I would love to play a remastered version.

Wasted two years of development, imo.

Make a new game.

Do ports take 2 years? I doubt it, especially as this wouldn't need to be re-done like Halo 2 Anniversary is. The standard stuff - 1080p, 60fps if they want it and then some sort of adjusted front-end ala Halo MCC. I mean it won't be done in a few weeks but as I said, I doubt it'll take that long

If it had the campaigns from all 4 games (yes i want Judgement included as well) alongside the best of the multiplayer modes from the main games I'd be pushed into getting an XB1 somehow.

Inclusion of all the prior dlc with the purchase and any graphical upgrades would just be icing for me.

My only problem is that I feel that Gears 2 MP is the odd ball out, gears 1 has it's own unique feel while gears 3 took what they did with 2 and fixed it.

gears 2 campaign is great though and I prefer it over 3's

If they give us the complete choice and let everything intact as it is than I don´t see any problems.

Just play 1 + 3 :)

I never did enjoy fighting the glowy spot locust.

But Gear 1 is my favorite because its more enclosed, felt more tactical, and was true to the idea of 'intimate violence'. But Gears 2 expanded things and went full-on epic and did a great job of it.

oh the original is great don't get me wrong, something about 3's single player stuff just didn't catch me as well as 1 and 2's did.

It would be a contracted company most likely doing a port of the games, bluepoint or someone similar. Resources won't be pulled away from current Microsoft internal development. It's a win/win really. Now if we find out that portions of Microsoft internal studios was pulled away to work on the collection then I could see an argument.

I swear this happens in every single thread we have about HD Remasters.

Has there ever been a single HD Collection that has come at the expense of a new game? If anything, even going right back to the original God of War Collection, the vast majority of them are made as a direct result of a new game coming on the horizon anyway.

If studios like Bluepoint, Hexadrive and Sabre just didn't exist, and you had guys from 343 saying stuff like "We didn't see any point in making a Halo 5 when we could just upscale the old ones. Fuck it." then these sorts of comments would actually have a point. But as it stands, what's actually happening is that older fans are getting to revisit beloved games with new leases of life breathed into them, studios are being given work and keeping developers in a job, and people who have never played a franchise before are jumping in, catching-up, and helping the 'new game' that releases a year later reach better sales and a broader audience than it otherwise would have.

Everybody's a winner. Bring on Gears Trilogy.
