PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | October 2014

Some would argue that Natural Doctrine is the other srsbsns strategy game on vita, but it has basically no tutorials and will completely kick your ass if you don't educate yourself a bit.

**If autoduelist is here, he could give you a bit more detail. Or you can look at his post history since he's expressed himself very well in the past on the subject.
Yeah, I've got a serious curiosity about that game too. I've still got $30 to spend too get my $15 credit...

I really hope we get some good sales tomorrow in North America.

Yeah, it has been pretty dry since I got a PS4 a few months back. I have plenty to play, so don't mind waiting for a sale to pop up. My hit list:

Resogun
Transistor
1001 Spikes
PixelJunk Shooter Ultimate
Hotline Miami
Rogue Legacy

Hopefully a Black Friday sale or something?

Who else here is playing Tears of Tiara II on PS3?

Anime + SRPG + MGS type hour long scenes between ten minutes of gameplay = heaven.

Omg, that sounds like the seventh circle of hell to me. I would seriously turn off the tv and leave the room, and if I came back and it was still on, sell it immediately.

I'll keep it short -- it's fantastic. Almost done my second playthrough.
That said, Frozen Synapse scratches a very similar itch (despite being a very different game) and I think anyone who loves one would likely love the other. These are the types of 'srsbsns' tactical games that only come out a couple times a generation, but I wish for on a daily basis.

I'm ready

you should have gotten a PS4

we love you Flandy

Doubt there's going to be any difference besides resolution tbh. I didn't mind buying the last gen version since the tweet below me confirmed it runs at 60 on PS3

buy me a PS4 and I'll get the PS4 version

I almost thought the PS4 version came with a theme. :(
The theme is literally just this image

No new icons on the XMB. Doesn't change the color of the notification bubbles either :lol

Sort of just found out about the spend $100 get $15 back. I feel kinda lame since I pre ordered DriveClub + season pass (when it was announced), and bought Shadows of Mordor on the day it was released. Guess I deserve it.

Yeah, I should've waited for DRIVECLUB too, my pre-order was pre-October. :(

Rogue Legacy, Transistor, and 1001 Spikes are on my list too. All feel a little overpriced to me so I'm fine waiting for a sale.

I'm guessing you recognize Yugi and Jaden. :)
The others are Yusei (Blue background), Yuma (Green background), and Yuya is the one in the middle.

You are correct. Thanks for naming the other three.

For those that want scary games for Halloween, Amazon is selling that Corpse Party dual-pack from last month for $20.

I'm sure I spent well over $100 this month, but is there a place where I can check the exact number? Or are you just keeping track manually?
I just keep a running tab in my head, but I am pretty sure you can check past purchases somewhere in the byzantine corridors of Sony's support site.

I'm sure that delay cost the dev a fortune (salaries, etc). I don't see why punishing them by not buying their game is good for anyone. You don't get the game, they could use the sale.

I'm not punishing, it's just that there are more games now that appeal to my tastes the better.

It shouldn't be the duty of the consumer to reward the developer. It's fine if you want to support a particular dev (that's half the reason I'm buying Bayo2 at launch), but to equate not buying a dev's game with punishing them seems pretty extreme.

So the PSN deal for spending 100$ and getting 15$ back, 3 questions.

Does it work in Canada?
Can it be any game?

How do I go about making my purchases count towards the $100, do I just spend 100 and then they randomly credit me 15 on my account?

Yes, and yes - as long as it's a digital purchase from the PSN (no voucher codes).

All you need to do is spend $100.00 through the PSN before the 28th and you'll get a voucher code before the end of November 7th in your PSN email.

Buy Korra on PS4 so you can play it on the Vita

via RemotePlay

Okay so I've been having problems with my Vita resetting itself when I put it on standby while a game is running. Though the problem only happens when I'm playing SK: Shinovi Versus, I tested all of my digital games and some physical games under the same circumstances and the issue only appears when Senran Kagura is running in the back ground.

Should I contact Sony to check out my Vita or contact xseed for a cartridge replacement?

Not sure, I have the physical cart and it's been constantly loaded on my Vita since release with zero crashes or resets.

I have GOW3 sitting here since forever, I wanted to get the Vita collection and then play 3 but I don't know if it's a good thing to do. I might get burned on the series before even getting to 3.

I thought I would give myself burn out playing 1 & 2 back to back, but I was just loving it the whole time. I'm hesitating on renting Ascension from PS Now, though, 'cause I really want some more GoW, but didn't like the demo for it back when it came out on PS3. I would love if the PSP games went on sale like right now.

If you've never played 1 or 2, you need to before you play 3... it's a perfect trilogy for gaming imo. Spacing it out would be good, still. If you have, then yeah, you should probably just finally play 3.

Though, I have this feeling that if I could've just jumped right into 3 again after finishing 2 the other day, I was going to be on a euphoria trip and been so into it. Man, I wish 3 was on PS Now too.

I've been having weird issues since this last update, like at first my psp and psx games would stutter, I rebuilt the database and it was fine. I play Senran Kagura, I got a couple of error messages saying my memory card has been removed. Now my Vita resets while having SK in standby mode.

Spooky stuff haha

Wipeout 2048 online is dead but Sonic All Star Racing Transformed works and plays great online! both great games

Note: i didnt realized the SASRT was such a good port on Vita , thanks sony for that past racing game s sale week.

It's haunted man. Give up now, the poltergeist will only get agitated.

In other news, I finished my playthrough of daxter. Can't decide if I want to work for the platinum in one piece or play minecraft for a million hours.

Yeah, both great games, and I was glad I got Sonic... picked up a sealed physical copy late last year for $9.99, and it's something I would've been happy with had I bought it day 1.

It's a great game to own for Vita, and something I would recommend to everyone or list as a must have, if there wasn't that whole "not exclusive/not a system seller" side that will just brush it off... being a Sonic game makes many people overlook it to begin with.

I'm hoping for some good sales tomorrow. I've spent $28 this month, and I'm looking for a good excuse to hit $100 for that $15 return promo.

I used a visa gift card I got ($100) to buy a PSN card on amazon, and put that in for balance. (and spent it on driveclub and mordor :D) Is that considered a voucher? or do you mean like an included voucher from a physical purchase?

Edit: Found my answer in the promotion thread:
The phrasing "Spend $100 USD using your SEN Wallet, you'll receive $15 USD credit..." sounds pretty clear to me like the only determining factor would be "Did $100 come out of your wallet?" Regardless of when it went in.

I would hope if that's not the case, they would say something like, "Deposit and spend $100 from your SEN Wallet"...

Ai! There's nothing more satisfying than tearing down your Dualshock 4 because you got fucking grease in the X button, realizing you fucked up the L2 button and the spring comes loose, fixing the X button, fixing the L2 button, then putting it back together. Lesson of this unneeded story, fuck Sony and it's 2 week turnarounds.

I'm at $5 thanks to the Orochi glitch, and I want a reason to spend $95. A huge psp/ps1 sale would suffice.

All money spent on the store goes through the wallet -- psn cards, credit cards, paypal, all goes through the wallet. When he talks about vouchers, he measn something like a code to get something free.

The post I was responding to was written: "I'd get Frozen Synapse if it came out last year like it should've."

That is worded in a way that implies direct causation / retribution, ie, they delayed it so screw them. His later clarification makes it clear that's not quite what he meant.
That is, it's one thing not to buy something because now there are other things you want - I agree, that's fair and not punishment. It would be punishment if you refuse to buy something simply because it was delayed, which is how I read his post.

Hmm at $66.97 so far after getting:

- Project Diva F + DLC songs
- Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus
- Vib RIbbon

this month. I guess I could finish it with Freedom Wars, but I really want to pre-order it at Gamestop to get those sweet black suits DLC. What else can I buy to finish the $33.03 I need to get to $100?

90% off everything glitch happening tomorrow. BELIEVE!

I missed getting Orochi. Saw it at work and thought I'd get it when I got home. Didn't realize it was actually a glitch before it was too late. :(

The DLC songs were on sale? If so, damn, I missed those.

Anyways, how about Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment ($40). I'm considering getting it myself. It's just that I keep flip-flopping between getting the Asia version or just the digital NA version.
