I'm confused now as to if she's been gone for five months or six months, at the start when they showed Thea getting into Malcolm's limo it said six months ago but everyone is saying five months still. I doubt Thea's training is done yet but she also has the powers of the training montage along with maybe being more of a "natural" than Oliver.
I'd take him being in his early 40s even instead of early 30s. But yeah, CW...

I know everyone is complaining about Ted Grant, but is it too much to assume this is just a young version of the character, and he doesn't actually become comics wildcat for another 20 years or so lol? I guess we'll see what they do with him, but I feel like this is just fanservice, otherwise this show is going to get too clogged up with D tier heroes popping up left and right.

looks like Malcolm actually killed Sara? Feels like that's too obvious, but don't think Nyssa and Ollie would go nuts like they seem to in the preview without being sure, he's also one of the last remaining suspects with Thea/Komodo scratched off and the League SEEMINGLY not involved

The biggest problem I have with Ted Grant is that he's supposed to be a former Heavyweight Boxing Champion. Whether they wanted to depict him in peak condition or not wouldn't bother me but the fact that he's not even close to a HW bugs me.
To give perspective: J.R. Ramirez who plays Ted Grant is listed at 6'1''. Boxers also cut weight to fight in lower weightclasses to give a strength advantage. So at 6'1'' and not in peak condition he should be heavier than he would be when he weighs in to fights. The current HW champion who holds nearly every title is Wladimir Klitschko who is 6'6'' and 240+ lbs. J.R. Ramirez looks to be about 40+ lbs lighter.

I've never seen an episode of this, but it looks pretty cool from the marketing/ads/etc. Is it ok to start now on S3 (Hulu), or should I go back to season 1 somehow? How was season 2?
You shouldn't start somewhere in the middle. Go back to season 1.
Watch it from the start, but be prepared for a little CW jankyness [forced love angles, few characters that are pointless but writers will not give up on htem and try to make them more interesting]. Overall CW romance focus is quite manageable and can be ignored, you can easily focus on better parts of the show.
S1 started more than OK, but it got legit good after ~9 episodes. It ended with one of the best season finales in a looong time.
S2 was fucking amazing, universe got so much more interesting.
S3 started intentionally slow [still good], but it looks it will build up to something big.
Flash was introduced in Arrow S2 in a very good way, its standalone show is very well done and it is connected with Arrow universe completely [we will soon get crossover storylines, not just small crossover characters].

Not a bad episode, but I'm still not feeling this season so far.
It feels like it's lacking in direction, they really need to introduce a big bad or have something that focuses the character. I was hoping Sara's death would be that something, but it hasn't done much really.
Still, I enjoyed Oliver without the hood. More of this would be pretty cool.
I'm actually growing to like Laurel. Her progression into B.C is coming along very nicely and about how I'd expect it to go with her having zero training (that's about to change though) but a fire to seek vengeance for Sara and against injustice in general.
Her hair also seems to be turning into a more lighter shade blonde. It's close...it's coming...
And Thea. Gatdamn. She looks fine. That BarrowGawd beatdown tho...she pulled it back perfectly. We needs gifs of both. She looked stunning during the final fight with BarrowGawd.
The Speedy we deserve, but can't have right now...

Well, I laughed when Laurel got one in the face after her try of being vigilantism. Whoever wrote this episode has too much fun with beaten up woman.

Thea was fucking hardcore though. She learned to kick more ass in six months than Laurel did in 27 years.
Seeing her all beaten up got me fired up!

Ted Grant Jr is a scrawny nobody. Ted Grant Snr is the real deal.
Laurel is fine, she was shitty on season 2 no doubt, but I think s3 is slowly redeeming her character.
I'm glad that she is finally being proactive about stuff instead of being all reactive to every single shit that happens to her. It's like she finally had a moment of clarity and said "fuck it", like when she was torturing that scumbag in the hospital.

Just got around to watching the latest episode.
Boy do I hate Laurel. And is the boxer supposed to be Wildcat? This might sound weird but I think Laurel's post-season 2 face makes me dislike her a lot more. I hate how her chin looks after she got all that plastic surgery done. She looked like a normal, marginally thicker girl in season 1 and now she looks like she went to a plastic surgeon and demanded she look like a model. I don't mind that she's thinner but her face...it just bugs me. It doesn't help that her face was noticeably frozen and expressionless during the first few episodes of season 2. Sara also had that problem with close ups, the bottom half of her face was permanently frozen, but at least she had great athleticism. The character was much more interesting as well.
Laurel though...bah. So emotional, so headstrong, so consistently stupid.
Thea at least was pretty awesome. I really hope she ends up becoming Cheshire.
