I know Europe is pretty much Sony-Land, but they should aim to do something, though I completely understand about being aggressive in the US first. I don't think they'll ever catch up with Sony over here, but there's still potential consumers available.
They clearly want to dominate the holidays. It's obvious.I really don't get the "limited time promotion". Just make the price drop fucking official already. It's clearly got to happen at this point.
Desperate as hell, go all the way 299.99
MS are so afraid to lose all year long NPDs
its obvious
MS doesn't need to win to be successful. They need to grow the install base to be successful. And this will help.
But what about the United States of Canada? Do we get anything?
We're America-lite.
Any word this comes to Canada?
Slim chance of coming to Canada. 350 USD = 400 CAD. Unless they are willing to take another losses for Canada. I doubt they will do that.

MS are so afraid to lose all year long NPDs
its obvious. If they do lose Nov/Dec its over for MS why? because Jan/Feb etc wont be any different.
Desperate or not, competition is good for the consumers and I'm happy that people can get the X1 at a lower price. Sucks I paid 500, but Titanfall was worth it.
US 2008
Jan - Oct 2008
PS3 -> 2,440,909
360 -> 2,388,610
------------------------------
Nov + Dec 2008
360 -> 2,276,000
PS3 -> 1,104,000
Competition? they been far from that
if Sony doesnt respond how is this helping consumers???
This is all desperation by MS, sony doesnt have to do anything and its selling?
that new lady boss doesnt want to see all year long losing NPDs its that simple.
If MS doesnt win Nov & Dec its over
Smells of desperation, but it will probably work. I consider this good for everyone.
Quick! someone change this face to Mattrick!
I don't understand these posts that are upset about price drops. Most people who purchase consoles early know there's a chance it may drop in price but also have hopefully enjoyed their purchase in the meantime. Also, this is essentially $50 "loss", not $150 for most early adopters because I believe most who purchased it at that time was interested in the Kinect and what it had to offer.
Also, I think this is a win win for MS. As the price drops it makes it easier for everyone to get a Xbox and even those who already have one may pick up another, especially with the multimedia capabilites that it has to offer.
If it's at gamestop... Couldn't you cancel it when you go to the store then repurchase it while there? Lol.So this is bullshit that it doesn't start until November 2nd. I have the sunset overdrive bundle pre ordered. If I cancel and try to wait, I'd say there is a high chance it's sold out and I won't be able to find one.
Is there any other options I have i'm not thinking of?
Brilliant analysis, especially the bit about "lady bosses" ...

Good deal for people interested in a bone.. wonder if it stacks with that $100 trade in credit on a 360.
On the other hand.. the crocodile tears in this thread are delicious.
Hmm if this applies to pre-owned... I'm definitely passing on pre-ordering the sunset overdrive bundle and grabbing a used joint from gamestop.
I'm not sure I agree.
MS isn't producing any new games
Hmmm..I'll bite at $350 if they have good black Friday sales. Only to play MCC.
I was thinking something along a similar timeline as well.
Also why are there people in here clamoring for Sony to react? They don't need to do anything to keep taking in the cash this holiday.
The salt in this thread is hilarious.
Desperate would imply the console isn't selling very well, which it is. MS is doing whatever it can to help close the gap with PS4 in the US, why wouldn't they lol.
Facts buddy. Yes even Xbox having a lady powerful boss put there to change this failing business
Say it with me: November NPD is going to be very interesting
Going to take them a long quite to do that.
