Xbox One Available for $349 in the U.S. This Holiday Season

MS really coming with the deals while Sony got their feet up relaxing. that's the bad part about success it make you lazy.

That's a pretty old deal, but the price is going to have to dip much lower for what's essentially going to be an exclusives machine for me.

A few more decent exclusives wouldn't hurt either. I can't just play Ryse and Dead Rising 3 after all.

Great to see MS rising to the competition. I honestly think Xbone has the superior year 1 games lineup. It was the price, forced Kinect bundle, and overall negative buzz that really hurt them.

MS does their best work when they are in panic mode. I hope this is just the beginning.

If they win November and December is that really a victory though? It will just go back to normal starting January. Whatever gap they've shrunk in the U.S. won't matter.

$350 is going to move alot of consoles though. Waiting to see what Sony does. If they feel they need to do anything at all.

January is nowhere near the holiday season in terms of sales. I do hope Sony responds though so I can pick up a PS4 earlier than I expected. (I already own an XB1)

Desperation price cuts = fiddle playing?

There's nothing desperate about a $50 price drop off a $400-$500 item. It's called being competitive. They know Sony can't match it because Sony itself is in such dire straits. It's smart business.

This is a very good price especially for the bundle. I still don't want to stay with the Xbox brand though --I don't want to pay for online (I have a Vita with PS+ so if I get a PS4 I don't pay extra).

They've got no reason to cut price when people are paying up regardless

And while their software is lacking this year it's coming soon, nothing you can really do about that, takes studios a year or two to ramp up on a new console.

They've been lazy on PS+ though, I'll say that

Sony could bundle some launch games and maybe a few indies if they don't want to price match. I think they'll wait and see how consumers react to the new price first.

What's amazing is the highest selling hardware sku last month in the U.S. was $449.

If nothing else, this should confirm that Microsoft is not happy with Xbox sales numbers; whatever their internal projections.

Dropping the effective price by 200$ in less than a year from launch is not desperation?

Has any other console ever come close to that?

Xbox One is 400 Dollars = Too expensive.

Xbox one price cut 50 Dollars = MS is desperate.

MS and Xbox will never catch a break around here.

Now now, lets not tell lies around here, the kinect bundle is not 300$

Man, this a good deal, no way around that. I also hope sony does something like this, I had the cash for my ps4 this past month, but opted to hold off one more month to wait for some black friday/holiday deals this month, hopefully they offer more than just a GTA5 bundle, while I enjoyed the game, I'd kind of rather have something new I haven't played as my first purchase.

Either way though, if you've been sitting on the fence, with the reviews for SO being so great and this excellent price, now's a good time to scoop up that X1.

isn't the PS4 selling at a small loss? I highly doubt they do anything drastic, since they are selling well at the current price point.

Sony has a pre-order promotion with GTA5 that is encouraging people to pre-order before November 3rd. I wonder if they have their own surprise up their sleeve.

Smart business is not having to need to do it in the first place.

Again, in spite of what your persecution complex will tell you, I did not tell a lie.

The Xbox One went from strictly available for 500$, to 350$ + free game (effectively 290$).

Which part of that is a lie?

How long is this deal supposed to last? Kind of want to wait on Black Friday sales to see what goes down.

Edit: Read article closer; Jan 3, 2015. Awesome, now to see how low this can go...

Microsoft being aggressive and going for broke. As an Xbox One owner, I love it.

Hope it brings in a lot more customers.

You think they are doing it out of the goodness of their hearts? It is what it is.

Removing Kinect, giving free games away, this price drop etc. are all as a result of the PS4 dominating. There's no ifs or buts about that.

The good part is that if you are interesting in the X1 then you can land some good deals as a result of the above.

Special promotional pricing of $50 off the console of your choice applies to any Xbox One console, including special edition bundles, offering some of the year’s most anticipated games – Assassin’s Creed: Unity, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, and Sunset Overdrive.

I'm reading that it's $50 off, so if the bundle is $449 it'll be $399?

That's a damn good deal. Very tempting, but I'm still going to hold off on next-gen for a while longer while I save money to eventually get both a PS4 and XBO.

What kind of twisted logic is this.. I don't even...

Who cares why they're doing it... It's good for consumers! Not everyone is rich.

These are not contradictory, in spite what your Xbox persecution complex might tell you.

Xbox persecution complex? ohh boy, honestly, I dont care about console wars, but is funny to see people reaction over these things. and yes they are contradictory, as if you are complaining that something is too expensive and then proceed to complain if this item have a price cut that is just been hypocrite over the matter.

"Desperate" is a lazy word to use. MS wants to win. They are not winning. They are taking new measures to gain ground. Calling that desperate might have a grain of truth but it doesn't paint the full reality of the situation.

So if you release your system at a reasonable launch price its all good but if the "competition" starts using YOLO strats then you expect the winning company to go low just because or else they are lazy? Everyone should take a loss since MS is desperate? Not to say that this deal in and of itself isn't good because it is. Even I started itching at that $350 price tag and as someone who had a 360 last Gen who played Halo 3 like a fiend its even, dare I say, a little tempting. But this is desperate and they definitely are taking a loss on the system right now. If they sold the Xbone for s $100 would you expect Sony or Nintendo to play ball because they had to? If Sony responds it'll be because they want to, not have to. Its not lazy to know you are winning and not respond to desperation.
Besides, if the PS4 went for $350 or $300 it would still be king atm..

Damn that is aggressive as hell...I pretty much only really want Halo: MCC but good God that is a sweet deal. Sunset Overdrive is starting to be too interesting to be able to ignore...

This move definitely feels like a big charge, Microsoft has the better holiday line-up this year (besides Wii U at least) and they know it. $50 under the competition combined with more quality games = Microsoft's best chance of overtaking PS4.

Really curious how November and December's NPD's are going to be...

So the November 2nd date makes this really inconvenient for the Sunset Overdrive bundle. I had planned on using a 10% off coupon at Best Buy. However, if I use it at the time of purchase to bring the console down to $360, I'm no longer eligible for the price matching come Nov. 2, per Best buy policy.

If I wait until Nov. 2 to buy, I can buy it for $350 and use the 10% off coupon and get it for $315. However, they'll all be sold out by then.

Right now I'm thinking the best option is to go buy it tomorrow, don't open it, return it Sunday for a full refund, then repurchase it right then when it will ring up at the $350 price and I can use my coupon.
