My guess is Sony is going to run through their Spider-Man plans with Sinister Six and ASM3, and sometime after that there'll be a soft reboot for the MCU

Bah, at that point Spidey would be in the MCU with nothing but B and C list heroes since the contracts for the Cap/Thor/Iron Man actors will all be done.

I've been collecting comics my entire life. Much more a 90s Image kid but I never could have dreamed to see this happening. I'm 30 now and happy to say I never once stopped going to my comic store every week to pick up my books. But on that note...

I never read the Infinity Gauntlet series or any Black Panther? Apparently I missed out big time on these?

Feige says the reason it hasn't happened because she's so good working with the Avengers and says that the Hulk is, at the moment, the same way

Black Widow's time will surely come

Captain Marvel and Inhumans inbetween 2 Infinity War movies. I wonder if the timeline will be literally in the middle of two movies? would be pretty awesome. see their adventures in their own film, and then show up for the final confrontation in IW Part 2

Probably because they're actively trying to get Spidey. Either it won't pan out at all or 'we're not at the announcement point yet'.

Those Spider-Man comments to me feel like the rumors about them trying to acquire the use of the character are absolutely true, but are far from finalized.

I bet those lawyers are still trying to find some loophole in that Sony contract!

Either way, this Universe will never feel complete to me without Spider-Man as sad as it is for me to say. Yes, we care getting tons of characters brought to life, and I think that's cool. But Spider-Man will always be Marvel to me, and the MCU will always feel like it has that missing.

I was going to use DC and WB not having Batman's movie rights as an example, but Marvel actually has names that can make money outside of Spider-Man.

I don't think they are worried about brand fatigue at all. They just know that they need to keep on throwing out new stuff along with the established characters. And you don't just let a comic book movie that made 1.2Billion in his last movie to sit idle.

That's why he's in Captain America 3 and the next 3 Avengers movies. The guy isn't cheap. I doubt Iron Man 4 would do nearly the same numbers as 3. IM3 was coming off of the Avengers high and had promises of his biggest villain yet, which turned out to be a bait and switch. I really enjoyed the movie, but I know it disappointed a lot of people.

Silas Lesnick: Feige confirms that CIVIL WAR will be global superhuman registration with a specific inciting incident
Silas Lesnick: Secret identities aren't as important in the MCU version of the story

Let me guess - public gets disillusioned by Iron Man creating Ultron.

What's the point of ant man if he is a side story and doesn't appear in any of the other movies?

More cannon fodder for Thanos to murder. And it's been in production for a billion years so they want a ROI. Honestly, I'd rather they would've just had their Capt Marvel film for 2015 instead of Ant-Man, but hindsight and all that.

It would have be. I don't see how anyone thought it could be comparable. It's not even just about them not having Spider-man, the Fantastic Four, or the X-men. They have not introduced the necessary characters (outside of those) and more importantly the quantity of characters to actually replicate what that comic story was.

I know, but a lot of people were hoping it was, usually the same people who thought Spiderman was essential to making that movie work.

I expected an Age of Ultron title use situation which I guess is pretty much what will happen.

It'd be funny if Cap was on the pro-registration side in this one, and Stark was the underdog. Not likely, given that it's a Cap film - clearly they'll be leaning into the "Stark is a fucking asshole" angle for this one - but still.

He said that Marvel TV is primarily a different department, so there goes the chance of tie-ins.

Well hard-lined tie-ins weren't ever going to be a thing but there will be some overlap in terms of major events I think (depending on the shows remaining on the air of course). He specifically said "That's mostly Loeb's thing."

The interesting thing to me is the next question and answer was...

2:56
Patrick Cavanaugh:
Question about Inhumans

2:57
Patrick Cavanaugh:
"You may find out sooner than you were expecting"

Which could be very interesting. This was from the Marvel live blog but I wonder if anyone has the specific question from another live blog perhaps?

I can't believe I was sleeping for this.

Fuck YASSSSSSSSSSSS at the announcements. They're beautiful. :,)

Too bad no spidey. :(

Inhumans is actually after the second part of Avengers, in November 2018. Doctor Strange and Thor are the two films between the Avengers split:

WAit no, I read that pic way wrong.

I think they want to keep it to just 3 movies per hero. Hence why Cap 3 is based off a story that ends with his death and Thor 3 is named after the end of the world and death of the gods.

I hope this is true. Iron Man 3 is a good end to Tony's arc and given that (as we've just fucking seen holy shit) they're not shy about bringing other characters to the screen I really really hope that they won't milk any one character for eight films

Whoa, whoa, whoa.

BLACK PANTHER is finally entering the MCU??????

No words. Too awesome.

Edit: OMFG AND CAPTAIN MARVEL
