I was actually pretty entertained throughout the whole thing. And then it just ended. I guess it was just a prologue for the light novel? I wouldn't say it was a waste of time since I was engaged for most of it, but now I'm just left with an empty feeling since there's no more to read.

Everyone should keep their hopes really low like I mean really really really low. My faith for Manga adaptions these days are no where to be seen. Considering the manga adaption Studio Pierrot did for Tokyo Ghoul, it fuckin destroyed me. I'm just not gonna shed any hope which you all should consider because the chances the Soma adaption will be bad compared to being good is high. Sorry for being negative but it's better being wrong/surprised then being right/dissapointed.
Also my faith for the Prison School adaption is zero, because it their anyone that can really animate the art correctly.

Yeah, honestly it's pretty hard to find a manga adaptation that's good for something that's ongoing.
But who knows, maybe we'll get lucky. There's been a couple adaptations I liked as much or close to the original that was ongoing.

the mangaka is going way too deep although i like it, laying out all the pieces of the puzzle for the reader to solve but i really want hide and the other cast to pop up. im assuming its memory loss or a split personality for kaneki. the mangaka hinted at there being two sides to the current protag, once where he is himself and the other is a white haired version. once he regains what he lost, he goes nuts and learns to control that power in the sewers, where it all began for the shop owner's daughter. i think himani is with aogiri due to the leader always being in combat with the authority and that would lead her to find kaneki as fast as possible. as we know now, no one knows of kaneki's whereabouts after he got bodied by arima. fan theories gonna fan theory

Animation quality is actually good there, that's tons of different frames but it's the art style that is absolutely bonkers.

Plus there are tons of examples of poor quality bad art in Naruto that you could use instead.
In all seriousness, I feel like it could've been really great with the goal they intended for that episode. I usually like anime episodes with that simplicity style wtih fluid animation. Unfortunately to me I felt like the budget made it fall rather short, so some of the fluid stills lingered there far too long making it awkward here and there.

Finally some good translations for this series.
I'm really impressed with it so far. If everything goes right with this series I could see it becoming the new top Jump series in the future. It has all of these qualities for it.
The art is unique as all get out even with all the homage to Western superheroes.
I'm genuinely interested in how this series develops. There isn't much thus far, but from what I read I really enjoyed it a lot.
Finally some good translations for this series.

Some further thoughts. This chapter was supposed to be a sad and depressing chapter but the only feeling I got from it was of shock and surprise, is what I came to realize later on. Was this the case for anyone else? I mean, Seo has done some sad moments pretty well in his other works so I wonder why it didn't occur here -- in what should be the most depressing chapter. It's not like we don't know anything about Fuuka. Her personality is a bit strange but there is a lot of backstory for her character that we can infer through the extra chapters as well as via Suzuka and her cameo appearance in KNIM.
I think the reason why I didn't feel sad was because her death kind of felt forced and perhaps because of the time skip. He's already done this jump to funeral thing once before but the time he did it then I felt had much more of an emotional impact even though I genuinely did not give a crap about that character in KNIM. Seo has been known to whore out his characters for sales so I wonder if this death was planned from the onset or if he just decided to kill her off to get people talking.
I mean when it comes to other works like Cross Game, you manage to feel sad for a character's death just 1 volume in. This is already 37 chapters and there was no emotional impact at all. For 37 chapters I expect to be bawling in tears.

Nah, the Tokyo is unsafe bit is just his asspull to get her to stay in the town. We are coming to the point where he realises his feelings for her and moves to Tokyo to be with her.
