Valkyria Chronicles for PC [Nov 11, £14/20/$20, has all DLC, 60fps/1080p+, $14 GMG]

Is VC2 a step down mechanically or do people mostly just hate the cast? Does it fix the balance issues with the Scout class I've heard about?

The areas in VC2 were too small and divided in sections, and the player count was smaller. It didn't feel epic in scale at all like VC1.

Excellent price, especially with the DLC included, and i'm surprised it's coming so soon.

Hope they don't make it dollar = euro and it's probably insta-buy for me.

Maybe i'll actually finish it this time.

edit: just saw that it will be 20€, kinda lame, but I guess it's not that bad.

Oh man, I was already in day 1 but all DLC included is awesome. I never got around to buying any of it on PS3 so it'll be great to finally play those extra missions.

I kinda hope it'll be available on GMG. I have a little over 20$ of Playfire rewards credit left that I was keeping for FFXIII-2 but I'll gladly use it on this instead.

Adding in Far Cry 4 and possibly COD (if the PC version is good) for me. I still need to play Binding of Isaac actually lol. Pokemon... maybe?

There is really no point in playing the original once Rebirth is out. Remakes the game at 60 FPS, includes the original content, and plenty of new content on top of that.

Would be kind of amusing if this is up for pre-order just at the start of the Halloween sale when (as far as I know) it doesn't have relevance to it (well except the whole war thing is probably scary)

It was alright, and I think VC's general mechanics hold up well enough to support 2, but the real let-down was in the pretty bad encounter design, and constant reuse of maps.

Yeah, and even worse is that in Valkyria Chronicles 3, they re-use some of the same maps from VC2. It's a little disappointing.

From what I have been able to gather, VC2 is a step down mechanically due to the PSP's limitations.

I disagree wholeheartedly with this, the mechanics in VC2 are a step up from 1. The battles are faster paced having to manage 3 smaller maps instead of 1 larger one, and they fixed the balancing with the classes. It also can't be understated how much more fluid the battle system became when they removed the one turn delay when sending away units and calling in reinforcements.

Obviously the characters were a step down and it sucks to have had to play it on psp but still an excellent game. VC3 is the best game in the series though for having the best story while retaining the best aspects of both VC1 and VC2. I just wish they would have made it for PS3, it would be amazing to have the faster-paced gameplay on big maps in the style of VC1.

Any link to the Steam page or won't see that for a bit?

Still nothing on the registry.

Bought PS3 ver few months ago and will double dip on PC version sometime in the future.

Picked up REmake on GameCube, HD port announced.
Picked up Valkyria Chronicles, PC version announced.

I'm perfectly fine with this.

I know nothing on this subject, so I will concede to you.

That's such an amazing deal for VC1 + all the DLC. Everyone buy 5 copies.

So you can pre-order now and pick up this award winning, critically acclaimed strategy RPG that’s so good it announced itself
I like their PR.

No. Even if I would agree that multiple maps makes up for the great reduction in per-map scope (I very much do not), what really breaks VC2 mechanically is the exceedingly grindy character progression system.

Don't get me wrong, I'd still buy VC2 if it was released on PC, just because I think the core of the series is that strong, but it's a step down in almost every regard from VC1, not just thematically.

Eh, as someone who bough VC at or near full price on the PS3, I'll wait till a 50% sale and then buy to play the dlc.

Yeah, I agree with this fully.

In VC I never just took "a shocktrooper" or "a sniper" into a battle, I'd take Edy and Marina.

Yup I loved this about the game, I didn't just take classes, I took personalities.

I will buy that for a hi...oh, $20 is good too.

Games announcing themselves IS Sega's PR! nyuk nyuk nyuk

As someone who bought it at full retail on PS3, and bought all the DLC when it was released, I'll buy 5 at full price on PC. Because I like PC 5 times more than PS3 :P
OK, admittedly I'll probably not get all 5 of those copies at full price. And I like PC 100 times more, but I can't afford that.

Glad it's officially now, definitely buying it. Ugh but why does it have to be so close to Dragon Age Inquisition coming out? At least i know what i'm be doing over Thanksgiving and probably Christmas as well.
Now we just need Skies of Arcadia Legends :)
