There's no way they'll bring Tommy back, right? The dude can't pull a Obito on us. I would kind of love it, but I can't imagine how he would've survived. Though I suppose ARGUS might have done something nefarious to him or whatever?
 
Only Ollie and Laurel would put Tommy in the pit. No one else gave a damn about him like that.

I want some kind of scene where Ollie is legit shook. It would be amazing.

Also a little nitpick, I wish there was less flashbacks. They aren't as interesting as they were before . They should only be flashbacks that tie into present day. I don't know where the China subplot is going but I don't like it

I agree that the flashbacks are.. less intriguing but I always hated that they were literal parallels to current day issues. I feel like they've switched that up this seasons to long form slow burn influence on current day (though that could very well be a gross misinterpretation) but at this point, I'm invested enough to deal with them suffering.

Yeah, the flashbacks have been weak this season. They really need to tie it into the present day.
 
Another passenger on board the flashback disapproval bandwagon.

Maybe they have a good reason for it as well as some twists up their sleeves, but the Hong Kong material feels like a huge misstep so far.

Flashbacks in the first season also took fucking forever to actually get going. It wasn't until Slade that things kicked off really.

Last year the flashbacks were tied too closely to current day and sucked because of it.

This year it looks like they are setting up Outsider Wars with the flashbacks and developing Waller. Interstly the China White plot is really exciting. She is the main villain of Green Arrow: Year One and was terrific in that comic. It is a shame that she was fucking awful in S1 and S2 in Starling but maybe the writers explain that this is a different China White or something.

I couldn't think of a new villain outside of Slade or Bane that this piece of dialogue would work for.

But man, imagine if Laurel got stranded on Lian yu
 
The point of the flashbacks this season was supposed to Oliver losing his humanity or whatever wasn't it? Which was supposed to run along with Oliver in present day starting to lighten up and continue to regain it.

EDIT: Yeah, Komodo was pretty disappointing in how he was handled.

Even his father was like "fuck that guy, he was a pussy" when talking to Thea about him.
 
They can fix/recast Komodo, easy.

They used a photo and it was the same actress.

Arrow screws up a lot of characters the first few times they appear. Takes a while to work out the kinks. I'm reasonably confident they'll do better by Komodo next time (or kill him and replace the actor) and it looks like they're doing China White's bad ass Year One story or something similar so fuck it I'll trust them to get there eventually.
 
I guess since everyone has low standards it could work. Anyone else that pays attention to what happens outside of Roy flips and the last 5 minutes? no.
