On to a new month. :)

So I finally read Harley Quinn PeeGee..
I may get banned.... but it just doesn't do much for me.
I enjoyed it,, book looks good.. I don't dislike it. Just doesn't do much for me.
Sorry Messi lol.
When a male supervillain strips a defenseless, amnesiac female superhero naked, dresses her up in fetish clothing, then when she wakes up convinces her they're partners who live together, it's the start of somebody's porn comic.

When a female supervillain does it, it gets published by DC and becomes ComicGAF's book of the month.

Oh, bitch bitch bitch.
Nice lists. Everyone except for Lapham, Claremont, and Moore would be on my top 10 writers as well (and that's just because I haven't read any Lapham or Claremont and have only read Watchmen by Moore).

Also, high five for including Miller and Martin on your top 10 artists list.
Just before I refreshed the ComicsGAF page and saw your post, I was thinking about how I need to catch up on Private Eye. I think I might hold off until it's finished though since it's sort of close to wrapping up. I loved the first five issues though. Especially Martin's art.

No problem :p

Kipp what are you doing? Top Ten, read it.

Pls Spike. Don't be like that.

I'd read both comics.

I thought that was the plan. Not like a secret PM thing, just post in the thread come January/late december what your 10 favorite comics were or some shit.

Good idea, maybe a few posters would also be interested in doing some write ups. I would love to read some more in depth reviews on this years comics.

It's been a crazy awesome year of comics.

Just another dark moment in our lives, a string of non-Grant Morrison DC books in 2014.

Shh, no tears, only Pax Americana now.

*doesn't even bother voting since no one else actually reads Stray Bullets and Copra
I read stray bullets. It's amazing crime fiction. I need to finish the omnibus

Also Wolverine mini is still by far the best solo wolverine story ever told. Claremont was surprisingly restrained in his writing (and had the correct grim tone) and miller was in his prime. Amazing work from both.

but whatever helps you sleep at night, homie. November's looking great too, though.

How'd you know?!?! My sleep pattern has been superb!

Girlfriend returns from Paris today after attending Games Connection, so she has 30 comics in her backlog to read. Looking forward to her catching up.

Picked up a like new copy of The Life and Times of Martha Washington at Half-Price Books today for $15. This better be as good as y'all said it was.

The book now known as The Transformers used to be called Transformers: Robots in Disguise, but that has now changed as the sequel to the Prime cartoon is using that title. I don't see the need for the change as they're different markets, but that's the reason. Both books are crossing over for Days of Deception as well.

It kind of makes sense since I assume they will have a companion comic to the new TV series.

I've been meaning to catch up on the RiD series, but I just know it's going to fall short of More Than Meets the Eye. I didn't think anyone else in the thread read the TF books since they're rarely discussed.

How the hell did Wytches and Southern Bastards not place on the rankings?

Some kinda horseshit.

I voted Sabrina, Wytches, and Southern Bastards

Holy shit that's a good list. All of those books are ace and some of the best of October. Sabrina was wicked good.

I think my votes went like this:

1) Southern Bastards #5
2) Harley #11 (I almost sent this in as Harley #25. I live in the future)
3) Low #4

I will say that Batman is one of the best covers of the month, and the Harley #11 variant is miles better than the regular cover.

It's a future we will all live in soon enough. I'm sure Spike would have voided that vote to hold down #TeamHarley

Batman is questionable though. I don't have any fuckin clue where that came from. Book was awesome, but nobody said shit about it. Does Spike take votes from lurkers? No clue. It's gotta be that, or someone is lying lol.

I also think people should hold off voting until the final Wednesday before the new month. Don't just turn in your votes right after the book you're hyped about comes out, because I know my final 3 changes like 6 times before the end.

The days following its release people were really hyped over it. It was good enough to be remembered by the end of the month. I can't wait for the new issue.

I know it's a long shot but are any of you guys getting cod on ps4?

Mine will arrive sometime next week allowing me to shit up the place magnificently

Kipp

but I am taking tiny steps forward
Girlfriend is alseep. I'm playing Vulgarr The Viking and checking in here off and on from my
phone.

I was so excited about that game that I paid full price for it. Me. Paying full price.
And guess what. I never even got past the first level.
I'm seriously the worst at platformers.

Kipp what are you doing? Top Ten, read it.

One day some day I will read it.

Awww yes! You better enjoy it. If you don't, consider us even.
I love that book so much.

There are stipulations to my performance when it comes to COD though:

1) Must be slower paced ala COD 4, W@W, Blops 1-2. With the exception of COD 4, Treyarch releases cater toward my style of play.

2) If it's anything like MW2-3, expect me to play it only for a little while before I get sick of the horse shit. At best I have a 1.5-2.0 K/D overall in those releases.

Next to competitive multiplayer FPS titles, My second favorite genre are tough as nails platformers. I 100% Super Meat Boy on XBL.

As far as I know, the only place to buy it is Bergen St Comics in Brooklyn or etsy when Michael Fiffe randomly puts issues up there for sale. It'd be great to be proven wrong since it sounds like something I'd absolutely love.

Aside from Bad Kartel it has a Diamond order code for October sooo

I guess it just goes to different tastes, but I thought the ship stuff was the best part of Black Flag.

I think if that stuff had just been billed and released as a Pirate game, I would totally have been on it. Billing it and releasing it as an Assassin's Creed game, not working for me. I can't tell you how many times I just sat there annoyed to be doing ship stuff when I just wanted to go assassinate some templars damn it.

Batman was my number 1, and I talked about it on here. I think only like 4 or 5 people read my post though, and only one person commented back. *shrug*

It was the best book of the month for me though.

Here's a shocker, Harley was NOT in my list this month.

I try my best to not ignore anyone. Sometimes I forget to reply to comments because even though I buy my books on Wednesday, sometimes I don't even finish my list until Sunday, or sometimes even as late as the Tuesday night before the new book week. It really was badass though.

I think it would be nice if we had a honorable mention list as well.

I liked Batman but enjoyed Daredevil and Deadly Class more so last month. I haven't read Harley.

I agree, that seems like the best course of action. Maybe we should have different categories, etc ?

I think we should get ultra specific like award shows catered to make everyone happy. I think two of the Categories should be:

"Best Marvel Omnibus Collection Written By Brian Michael Bendis Featuring A Female Lead"

Or

"Best Sci-Fi Image Book Not Written By Rick Remender Featuring An Ensamble Cast"

I had voted for Grayson, Sabrina and Multiversity.

Sabrina hit the nail on the head with the tone and atmosphere of the book. It sucks you in from page one. The writing and art were even better than Afterlife.

On another note, DC/Marvel need to stop reserving certain villains for certain writers *COUGHjoker4scottsnyderCOUGH* *COUGHnormanosborn4danslottCOUGH*

I voted.. in the top 100.

I wouldn't vote for top 3 books here.

it would always go she-hulk/mighty avengers and X-men/X-force depending on what is released this month.

too big of a Psylocke/ Jenny stan, bros.

I prefer it when Joker isn't whored around to every writer.

Also Norman
is in Ultimate Spider-Man

I could happily go about 10 years before another Joker story, except if he was part of an Injustice Gang story, those are always fun.

Osborn peaked with Dark Reign, his appearances in Heroic Age New Avengers and Goblin Nation were both pretty poor.

All that said, there are no bad characters, just bad writing.

Dan Slott should be forbidden from writing Norman again after that horseshit at the end of superior spider-man

I don't even remember him being used in anything other than Derpth of the Family since n52 started.

Don't read Ultimate. I remember Rick Remender saying that Slott had "plans" for Osborn so he had to use Ben Kingsley Goblin in Axis.

All that said, there are no bad characters, just bad writing.
That's it really but Tetrax pls... just 2 Joker stories in 4 years. I am disappoint.

Let Greg Pak use him in Superman/Batman.

Dan Slott should be forbidden from writing Norman again after that horseshit at the end of superior spider-man
Amen. I remember thinking "what is Guy Gardner doing here" lol

Sweet, an IST order arrived:

Street-Level Order
Batman - Mad Love and Other Stories
The Immortal Iron Fist - Complete Collection Vol. 1
Daredevil by Mark Waid - Vol. 1
She-Hulk - Law and Disorder

Man, my IST order still hasn't shipped. Dat manga holding it up.

No rush, I got my History of Westeros in the mail from Amazon today. That'll keep me busy.
