So I have the LE coming to the US from GAME UK. Will I have any issues playing this on my XBO?

Is it true that you can download the patch while playing singleplayer Halo? What about multiplayer?

This is a pretty huge patch so i hope they considered that they should let people play it while the download is going on.

Yeah I read that one before but just checking if the ones who have the game can verify this and if they can describe how it works first-hand (can you still play multiplayer while it is downloading, etc?)

Yes. The entire single player experience is available with just the basic install. I've completed nearly the entire collection without the update.

I am torn. I want to buy digital as I can get the patch now and also have Halo multi accessible without a disk but I do love me some physical media.

Man I still need to decide whether to buy this game digitally or at Best Buy. Best Buy is tempting for the fact I get 20% off and $10 RZ coupons but none of my stores are having midnight releases, so I would be stuck waiting till 10am the next day. I may sacrifice all that just to be able to play at 12:01am EST. Decisions decisions...

I wonder if Xbox Customer Service would be willing to allow people to buy it digitally, download and install the game and patch, and then refund the game, effectively making the license from the digital version void, but leaving the install? Probably a bit much for them I would think

No. How would that even work? But, it would be cool to see if they can figure out how to do this. It is one thing to have a patch or some additional content, but this is a 20gb content update that for some will take time. I don't see how they would figure out how to allow people to D/L ahead of time.

The only way it would work is if they push it out to the Store and label it as the content update and put a message on it that if people are buying the game, the can download the content ahead of time.

The way it is now, it will only allow you to download it if you have pre-ordered it.

you can cancel pre orders so you could prob do that.

It should if you have your system set up to "instant on" which allows for updates to be downloaded when it is in sleep mode. I will confirm after me and my wife are done watching a TV show.

The 3ds can do this, the Xbox One should be able to. Not to mention I don't see why they wouldn't allow anyone to download the title update. It's just a title update. If I download it and don't buy the physical game, I would just have an unplayable title update.
