Bought mine from the hong kong store just so I can (hopefully) play early, since it was essentially the same price as buying it on the US marketplace, maybe a buck or two cheaper actually.
Still have the LE steelbook on the way from GAME.uk to go in my collection though. It's just too bad that if I want to come back to the game after support for XB1 is discontinued and play local split screen, I'll have to make sure that I still have that 20gb title update on the hard drive all those years. Really should release a physical disc for the multiplayer.
I love this collection, but not having the MP on a physical disc is 343i's only true misstep for me on the whole thing.

Yah, maybe it's region based? I've turned my xbox on and off twice, nothing as of now. Hoping it downloads randomly later tonight.
As a huge halo fan, if you have played halo games multiple times before and did not like them, do not waste your money on the MCC. No amount of hype can justify a game if you don't like the gameplay. Now, if you have only played halo briefly in the past, I would say give it another shot.

Click on the game and then hit Manage Game. It should give you the file size. If it is in the 65gb range then you are good to go. The initial download, without the content patch is 48gb.

Thanks. I just don't know when this update will start. My xbox is set to automatic download and I can tell that it's definitely not downloading as of yet.

As mentioned before, it would be very cool if there was a way to do it however, but you can only download it if you have a digital pre-order and you already downloaded the first major part or when you insert the disk.
I guess another question that I am wondering....
If you have the physical disk, will it force you to download the content update and not let you play the game or will it allow you to install the disc content and then after download the content update. For patches, it makes you download the patch first before it installs the disc, but since this is a content update, will it act like a typical patch?

Go to Games/Apps and it should be in the que I believe if it is currently downloading. You can also go to settings>network and check the data usage, if it is changing when you are on the screen it is downloading something.

I'm sure it's nothing to worry about, but I downloaded the patch, waited until it was at 100%, and then booted up. This is what greets me when I try to play H2A, H3, H4, and Forge/Theater or Matchmaking.

I think he may have an early copy of the physical game perhaps? Usually a digital game will be listed as unavailable until the official launch time.
