Gamestop was taking footage all day, apparently. Probably because of the pro Smash players scheduled to appear, instead they witnessed the birth of a legend...
Default Palutena is kinda ass IMO...
That being said, her talent in the game is undeniable. Her D1 match was fast. And look at the latter half of that facebook footage, where she's playing Diddy. Even her Dedede was great - good DI, Robin matchup isn't in Dedede's favor and she was doing what she could (if I had to guess, either neutral or slight Robin?) and she was one read away from winning.
The only thing missing is maybe more aggressive edgeguarding (what are Diddy's options? besides peanuts which I saw her use and forcing someone off the ledge which I saw from her generally) but she's still good. Her Diddy can take her places

Basically, she's employing advanced survival techniques that require quick reflexes while also predicting what her opponents are going to do and then punishing their asses hard.
In the D1 video you can hear people talking about it in the background. In the original video they keep talking about her "download Diddy" (ie. she learned it by watching) and how it's better than most pros.
Diddy isn't even her main. Rosalina is.

Watching this video, what she did is even more impressive because of the environment. The chanting and cheering for D1, she tries to turn it to herself, but that dies...then D1 starts to lose, and they all act as if he's doing something wrong vs her doing something right....and then the excuses. The fucking excuses. "I can't play with rumble"...seriously? And the guy in the audience just reinforcing that? "I can't play with rumble either". And she wins, the people are practically quiet, so clearly disappointed that D1 lost.
It's just a means of applying pressure that not all characters have, and coupled with Diddy's generally great mobility, amplifies that pressure. even worse if diddy manages to get close to the opponent.
OH yeah, forgot about that. That is crazy.

To be fair, Palutena is absolutely awful (like, one of the worst 5 in the game) whereas Diddy is one of the top 5-10 characters.
That said, she obviously does know how to play the game at a high level based on that footage.
