Do we know the details of the default world state that's in the game? At least the major stuff. Just for curiosity sake. Mass Effect had a terrible default world state, with most of the previous party members / major npcs dead
They do that so you have as little as possible previous connections in your game. It's meant to help new folks (who are probably the most likely to use default)
The game looks good but not spectacular on ultra settings. This is what is puzzling me about the hardware it apparently needs to achieve those settings. Maybe it'll be improved upon though by release. I really didn't expect it to be much more demanding than BF4.

If you go onto the Keep website, click on the right hand side (the little world) then click on the + on the "saved world states" and a new save state should open up. Click on the eyeball under that save state, and it'll go to your tapestry.
Everything under there is the default world state for the DA games. Female Dalish elf warrior, male mage Hawke, etc.

I just mentioned it, but with the amount of people considering getting DAI who haven't played much if at all of the previous games, should we make a thread to help them out? Like list of essentials to know and to read?
still looks pretty good on low. have they said what the ps4 version equivalent would be on PC? i'm assuming High settings? any talk of framerate issues on ps4?

So there 5.157 pictures right? I don't read OTs so much as quickly scroll through them. Now I'll feel like a dick just blowing through such a mammoth post you spent so much time on.

Quick question, Is any of the expanded universe stuff (i.e. comics, novels, animated movie) any good? Looking to refresh my Dragon Age lore before the game drops.
I'm so happy this game is getting good reviews, but sad at the same time. Sad because I'll buy it and push back the 3 games I just bought and spend the rest of 2014 a slave to Dragon Age.
Also for those asking earlier, I've written (what I feel to be) a concise and explanatory summary of Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age II leading up to the events unfolding in Inquisition. I know many feel lost and want to catch up on the lore to feel like they're on good ground before diving in. Hopefully it'll help

I honestly can't think of someone better to post it. I'd suggest a separate thread for now before the OT. A 'Dragon Age Universe refresher'. We could also post links to wiki articles and lore videos. It'd be helpful for those on the fence in buying the game. The OT will definitely have the info obviously so they could always wait. I guess this is another downside of the OT being delayed.

If you don't want to look at Dragon Age Keep (because it's all that reader friendly) PC Gamer has a guide of the choices available to you. I haven't read the whole thing but it seems pretty comprehensive.

That would be cool. I feel like I remember someone recapping the first two games in a video recently. Might be useful to explain some of the books and things, too..
Urgh... that's lazy. I have everything on my save why not let me import it? That site doesn't work well for me and I can't figure out how to let certain choices stick. I didn't die and Alistar was still king (afair), I can't have both for some reason.
And what the fuck is so hard about having a "GO BACK" button. I have to maneuver through the whole menu to get back where I was....
I've been thinking about it, and seeing the differences without dedicated Wiki support is gonna be rough given the game's 60+ hour time frame
Take, for example, a multi-faceted choice from DA:O, say
whether or not the OGB was born, whether it was the male warden, alistair, whether Alistair is still king or a drunk....
. The ramifications of that probably won't be seen until well into the game, even if they are at all.
It brings up an interesting point in regards to how 'allowed' Bioware is to truly act upon your choices in previous games without breaking the bank in spending obscene amounts of time and money to set up completely different games (which obviously isn't a good option financially)
In any case, I hope that the
Warden
gets a proper nod, at least, given how they're bringing
Hawke back so blatantly

Bioware was unable to come up with a proper import solution in regards to the differing game engines, platform integration, etc...
Alistair can be king and you can still be alive if you or he meet with Morrigan and perform the ritual, which, I think, is tied to the getting of Flemeth's grimoire for some reason.
Importing had a bunch of wacky problems that the Keep apparently takes care of. No longer will Morrigan randomly get amnesia and forget your sweet love (hopefully).
They've implied they're going to use it for the Dragon Age series from here on out.
