Damnit guys, you're making it really hard to be stuck at work for another 7 hours...

Anyone read The Kitchen #1 yet? That's gonna be my first comic of the night (well, after Batgirl #36).

She's a SHIELD agent so getting onto the moon isn't that hard. As for the hair, it's probably a part of the costume change, since she did remark at her new appearance. She'll probably have a non-costume appearance similar to how Thor had Donald Blake all those years ago.

oh yeah SHIELD. I keep forgetting that, lol. That makes sense. It'll be interesting how Thor reacts if it is her. Aaron mentioned he'll see her around issue #4.

I bought it but haven't read it yet ;_; I'm off work until next week and figured I would be catching up on comic reading. Instead I'm playing video games :P

Batgirl was pretty good this week. I really enjoy Babs Tarr's art. There is not much like it out there. Cameron's layouts have been perfect. Babs is lucky to be learning from him. The story is a one and done and was pretty cool. Very happy with the creative change.

Anyone else pick up Drifter? I really dug issue #1. Only problem I had was that Nic Klein kinda draws mountains weird but otherwise it's a solid start and I'm onboard.

Cap is good? I just dropped almost 2k on building my new computer and I'm trying not to start too many new books for a couple weeks.

Is Kipp's frugality rubbing off on you or something?

You're not going to single-handedly save the comics industry by passing up on a Remender/Immonen joint, homie.

Got it, just sat down with all my books

Cap was pretty much exactly what I wanted.
Falcon doing Cap stuff his way, butting heads with Nomad, Hydra conspiracy, BATROC ZE LEPER action and banter, Stuart Immonen and Wade Von Grawbadger lookin' great, tease a cabal of Cap bad guys at the end

Close to an all time low with Marvel comics now. At least OMD sent me off in white hot rage, now I'm just drifting off into ambivalence. AXIS is of course as usual the pointless long fart it was always going to be, but at least Spider-Man let off a zinger or two.

Superior Iron Man was just... why even bother. Whats the point at all? Its the same thing that killed the new Fantastic Four run. WHAT IF ____ IS NOTHING LIKE THE CORE CONCEPT, AND YOU HAVE TO WAIT A YEAR OR TWO TO GET BACK TO IT? Deep journey, come along for the ride that you didnt want. Ever.

Ultimate Peter Parker gets to hold a dishrag or some shit, simping for a whole final issue to bold and underline Miles-Man and His Zap Of Worfing as The One True Spider-God.

Then the actual Spider-Verse comic was just all throwaway garbage as the comics world rushes to create enough variant female Peter Parkers to fill up a landfill.

Kill all the alternate realities and time travel already, fire all the writers. Expediate the great purge, I am already cancelling subs left and right (or having them cancelled on me, bye Foes and Warriors!).

But yeah, you're right. With that said, when's the last time a Marvel event or an Iron Man run was genuinely good? Read some Thor, Ms. Marvel, Daredevil, or any of the smaller titles not sucked too far into the current events... a lot of them are great.

Marvel event: Infinity (last year)

Iron Man run: The Fraction run (2008-late 2012)

So not that long ago really.

Ms Marvels alright when theyre not aggressively selling her and its just grass-roots super-hero rookie stuff and not Ms Marvel Simps Wolverine and Spider-Man in the same month. I think its good, but its not like, super amazing stuff I get hyped about.

Not feeling the Thor gimmick. Aaron is normally good, but I'm not fond of Bendis-speech narration boxes meets Asgardian speech-bubbles and heavy handed "she's the most powerful Thor yet!!". Need more Odinson since there was some great stuff going there until abrupt change. Normally Aaron is top of my Marvel list, but I feel this sudden Editorial pass down of 'everything must change dramatically for the top Avengers' sort of robbed me more of his standard run.

Any other small book I like gets killed so its fast getting to that Eeyore 'why bother' point.

Iron Man run: The Fraction run (2008-late 2012)

Fraction's run was great until the Mandarin arc where it wobbled all over for like a year and a half as he'd clearly checked out and run out of steam. Such is the Fraction curse. The Stark On the Run stuff was amazing though.

I feel ya. I will admit that not everyone can or should be as apathetic as I am regarding most of the core titles put out by Marvel/DC. I'm happy to pick up a few Big 2 books every month and get the majority of my stuff from other publishers.

If editorial hand any hand in this, it was only saying when. Aaron has said in interviews he always intended to do this.

Eh, should we really care who Thor is? Let them hold that back as long as they want, as long as they don't try to make it this big reveal when they decide to tell us. No one cared about Donald Blake, either... which is why they twisted that origin story around.

The last good Iron Man Run was actually the last one before Gillen took over (At least when you consider the Eisner Award as something that hints at things that are "good" on a objective level) So its not that long ago.

I might be alone in this, but I've really liked everything that Gerry Duggan has been on. His Hulk is great and fun (provided you're cool with the supergenius Hulk. I love him), he turned Deadpool and Nova into actual interesting characters, and Deadpool vs Hawkeye is hilarious.

The only non-Duggan comic that I'm as excited to read is the current X-Force, which I'll admit your mileage may vary depending on how much you like the characters and a gritty "everyone can/will die" story.

Has anyone read Captain America and The Mighty Avengers #1 yet? I'm hoping to get some impressions before I hit up my LCS after work.

Dat Walking Dead #134. Jesus <3
Also, I love how Sophia grew up to be awesome. She doesn't take shit. Nothing like Carol at all. And haha, shit, Carl is going to get in trouble. I still knew that little psycho was in there. And those "Whisperers?" I still believer they're foreigners. Their English is weird.

So Axis wasn't as terrible as the last issue. I think Spider-Man kind of said what everyone was thinking. I'll be glad this event will be over soon.

Miles Morales TUSM is pretty meh too. The ending was a bit what the fuck.

Thor #2 is cool. We still don't know who she is, but man she's just fun.

Superior Iron Man #1... hhmmm. You know, I couldn't get into Iron Man after Fraction's great run during Dark Reign/Siege (his redemption tour) which made me like the character, but this return to asshole Tony is so sucky.
So he's still influenced by the inversion, but damn I have to admit he leveled up to an omega asshole when he hooks everyone on the Extremis 3.0 app and just shuts its down. At first I was like "oh I guess he didn't lose all of his marbles an- oh NEVER MIND!" Haha, to continue using this app pay 99,99! fuck. Seeing those people getting all uglyfied is crazy.

bout to read it right now, will edit random sillymonkey321 style impressions

edit: good/10. Art works on this book finally, funny AXIS personality changes, new reader friendly, got a couple plots going, and even sneaks in a Spider-Man joke at Steve Ditko's expense

I'm like 5 issues behind on The Walking Dead and it's soooo tough to pass by the spoilers every month... but it's not super high on my priority list because I typically like to read it in arcs. I just might break tonight though and get caught up...

Yeah I thought Superior Iron-man is pretty shit too :(
Rafa was right.. Nothing good came from AXIS.

I afraid Marvel gonna going to same dark route that DC goes in last two year.

Won't everything be resolved around May next year when Avengers AoU hits theaters?

Honestly, that's what I'm hoping for :P

Nope, they're gonna throw a curveball mid-Avengers 2 and give Natalie Portman the hammer / Anthony Mackie the shield! And you'll love it.

I like the Gillen run going right now. :(
