I'm guessing I can't just waltz into Batgirl from when the new writers took the mantle...
So i read Batman: Year One and damn guys why didn't any of y'all tell me about this book. May be the best origin story ever? Mazz absolutely destroys and the colors are top notch. It doesn't do that thing that old comics do where they look like old comics.mazz used that Hawkeye inspiration well
I need to revisit DKR again, I have a feeling that one's gonna come out on top still.
re: your first part -Well it's kinda in the canon of great 80s books, and i like it a whole lot more than DKR even, it's much more human and real.
re: your first part -. re: second part - I haven't read DKR in three years, when i was getting into this comics stuff (also, the first Batman thing i read afaik), so i really wanna revisit it having now read Year One and having now read a bunch of other stuff. Shit blew me away by the time i reached the end though. I didn't really appreciate the art back then either.i know
now i just gotta get my copy back from whoever has it
I think TDKR is far overhyped. Its a very good book, but I dont get the "Yep, this is a masterpice" feeling I have when I read other books that are considered as comic masterpieces and classics.
sad about the death of #comicgaf.
I'm gonna keep the torch lit tho.

It's good, sure. Important piece of comics history most definitely. But it's no Year One.

If inversions bring lesser aspects of the personality to the front...
Would inverted Spider-Man become SpOck again?
no, because doc ock permanently erased himself from peter's mind. he's no longer in there, unlike the Red Skull/Xavier situation.

Have you read Ostrander's run on Suicide Squad? It started as a homage to that and has continued to get better with each arc. It's by far the best ongoing series I've read not being published by a traditional publisher. But don't just take my word for it, feel free to read these glowing reviews by Comicbook.com, Comics Alliance, and Comics Should Be Good, or read issue #1 for free from the creator's website.
Lol I was wonder what this not Constantiens dudes deal was
Dude was hilarious

I didn't like Year One, It was like 70% James Gordon.
#ComicGAF will never die, fuckers
Man, I'm starting to really get into Ultimate Spider-Man. This book is miles ahead of any Spiderman book I've ever read aside from Superior.

I'm still in there daily and we get some good convos when a few people are chatting at once. But yeah...
#ComicGAF is dead. Long live ComicsGAF (the thread)!
They're definitely taking everything they've learned from Arrow and using it well.
God damnit. Can the CW just become the DC Network please? Give it to me. Give it all to me.
It really is awful. I think I might like Batman a little less as a result.
And the game itself wasn't as good or interesting as Arkham Asylum. The open world probably sounded great on paper but didn't work in execution, and the combat took a nosedive.

EARTH-41
A dark and often violent world, the nations and communities of Earth-41 vary greatly, existing largely independent of each other and standing united as a world only during rare times of great peril. Perhaps unsurprisingly, much the same can be said of its heroes, who all differ greatly in their look, philosophy and interests. In fact, one could say that its almost as if each one was dreamt up by a different individual to represent their image of an ideal super hero.
How else to explain how the gruff, blue collar Dino-Cops workaday approach to preserving the peace could come to coexist alongside the bleak, otherworldly operations of Spore, Earth-41s necro floral avenger? Along with the Nimrod Squadmade up of hard-light archer Fletch, the stone-with-a-soul Flintstein, actress-turned-hero Vague and morethey protect their people and their planet from threats that are almost as varied as they are, occupying a somewhat eclectic, but still unified corner of the Multiverse.
Is the current Batman run still in the "Zero Year" story arc? If not, how important is Zero Year to the current issues? I read the first trade of Zero Year but not the second. Would I be missing out if I skip the second trade of Zero Year but jump straight into the current issues?
Knock-offs of knock-offs.
