I'm 7400th in the queue with a projected time of 8 hours.

Welp, so much for playing this at all today. Maybe I'll be able to play by sometime next week.

I'm pretty angry, about this. Two nights in a row, I cannot play and the wait is 5-7 hours to log onto my realm....bullshit.

Why did i pay 50 bucks if I can't even play?

Friday night prime aussie time - Maintenance. Wake up to the notice that Saturday night prime Aussie time is going to be again, maintenance.

Oh fuck sake.

Transferred to my friends low pop and only had a 5 min queue, and luckily no "cannot find character" errors either, even though I logged out in my garrison. I shouldn't have had to transfer to enjoy the game finally, but whatever. It's worth the $25 and time for me.

Although giving Blizzard more of my money because of an issue on their end is wrong :P

40 minutes in Queue.

Character Not Found.

:O

There's no definite factor for this right? Cause I had that earlier today, then after it was fine, then I logged out in Gorgrond in a safe, public place, and here we are back again. T_T

It's a strategic plan to get more money. Sprinkle some news about DDoS here and there, turn off a bunch of servers, and tell you they can't do anything tomorrow. Then they get you to pay!

I also payed for a server transfer. New server I'm at is at 300 queue. MUCH MUCH MUCH better than the 5500 queue for Zul'jin.

I have been in Sargeras queue for over 5 hours. when I joined I was at 3570 or so. all this time later im at 1354. ETA is at a minimum 3 hours for me still. Most in queue wont get in before maintenance
Wow. Was really looking forward to play tonight. Oh well =[

Agreed. Kil'Jaeden has queues of 5500+ as well, and it's not fun. Although I may miss the hustle and bustle of a populated server, I'll be much happier now. And with nearly everything being cross-realm, I won't miss out on anything.

When you say safe, public place, are you referring to the outpost? Because that seems to have some ties to your garrison, and I ran into issues there, disconnected and have had the character not found issue all night since.

Blizzard has been doing this for 10 years and they still can't accurately predict population spikes when an xpac launches? Every jamoke on the planet knew a ton of people dropped the game because they didn't release new content for a damn year and would be coming back for this release.

I've heard that correctly anticipating server traffic is near impossible, and that betas only go so far as to give a hint. That goes for every developer.

now down to 1000 in queue and 557 mins...I find this ridiculous. At least Blizzard should give us free play days. I mean most of us can't play or play much due to their own faults.

While true. Activision specifically hyped up last month that over 600,000 accounts had resubscribed ahead of the expansion. They knew this was going to be huge

They ran predictions and even planned for capacity above and beyond their predictions. You're basically acting incredulous that they can't predict the future just because the game is 10 years old.

The age of the game has nothing to do with it, the amount of experience they have does. Even they admit they fucked up, I don't think being upset with them is an inappropriate response here.

I don't really think it has anything to do with the garrison. My daughter, who doesn't have a character above level 17, is getting Character Not Found, too.

I think I remember someone posting a link to an AddOn that tells you where all the treasures and rare mobs are in Draenor. Anyone know what it is called or have a link?

Edit: Nevermind! Found it with some digging.

If it's any comfort, if you logged out in a garrison you most likely won't be able to play any of your characters at all, even if you got past the queue. Even post server maintenance.

After the awesome cutscene in the first half of Talador the second half drags on badly. It (minor spoiler)
feels like you're preparing for a massive battle at the end of the quest chain but there isn't one.

I'm on Earthen Ring, and only had a 10 minute queue. Have been relatively lag free, ran the Bloodmaul Mines, and got my Ghost Wolf Pup from working digsites tonight.

Man, Garrisons are fun. They took one of the most interesting gameplay features from The Old Republic and made it way more fun.

The game is great. It's the fun I was having in BC/WotLK, when it's functioning decent. Unfortunately that's not the case. Get DC'd, then thrown in queue for 2hrs+ thus far.

There is no defense for this, none. I don't want to hear about DDoS either. This is something blizzard has done for a decade, and I have never seen a single one of their xpacs function this badly.

You can't take anyone seriously defending blizzard here for real. Take of the glasses. This is just yet another perfect example of a developer/publisher taking a piss on their customer. This is getting out of hand what these devs/pubs are doing to us. They're making me hate gaming. Sucks.

Blizzard loves borrowing ideas from other games, the fact they haven't borrowed shards/realms/instances like SWtOR, Aion, GW, etc. is incredibly annoying.

Has any of the major gaming and non-gaming sites picked up on this train wreck yet? Blizzard is making bungie, dice, and Ubisoft look like saints this past year.

Update 7:07 p.m. PST

We’re making preparations for the Europe maintenance beginning in just an hour, and along with hardware upgrades we will be implementing some of the performance improvements we’ve been testing. One of these is a fairly large change to the way the game world is run by the servers—expanding the phasing tech used for the Tanaan intro experience to the entire continent of Draenor. This will allow us to run multiple copies of Draenor simultaneously, spreading out server population, while attempting to keep guilds and parties within the same copy. We’re currently running tests of this tech on a few North American realms, and have found we’re able to raise realm capacity by a significant amount. We’ll continue to provide updates as we progress through the Europe maintenance, and prepare to apply the same changes on the Americas and Oceanic realms.

If it lets me play the game, yeah phase all you want.
