DA2 again. Is it wrong I have absolutely no sympathy or like of Anders and his plight? And after what he did, he seems like a bit of a dick too.

No I don't think it's necessarily wrong you are absolutely entitled to thinking what you want. I think that they lost a lot of potential with his character and that he is obviously very troubled. I myself
spared him
but I know a lot of people feel like you. Even though I went the direction I did I don't agree with people who completely disregard his act against the chantry just because they romanced him (I didn't) or are hardcore mage supporters 100% (I'm not, it's much more nuanced than that). My Hawke definitely didn't condone, I'm just curious what happened after the fact. The tensions between Templars and Mages had been there for while and his act really was just a catalyst to get to the third game.

Anders was a pretty cool dude in DAO Awakenings. They make him a complete whiny prick in DA2, and using the fact that he had fused with Justice didn't at all make it any less grating.

He asked me what I was going to do and
I insta shanked his ass.

I was pro Mage but still disapproved of what he did.
Shanked first chance I got

I spared him only because he was possessed by a demon of Justice and not in control of himself. Disapproved his actions, of course. Hopefully he'll get some kind of redemption in Inquisition.

Did the Templars take him away if you spared him? I don't remember.

Ok thanks. For some reason I got the feeling that the game was trying really really hard to make him sympathetic at every chance. But totally was the complete opposite.

Nah, he just wanders off.

So somebody made Khaleesi with the CC:

I love playing as a female in RPGs for some reason, but I find it uncomfortable doing any of the romance side of games like this so I just... Don't. Always makes me go male just so I don't miss out on major game play elements.

Don't know where to post this, so I'll ask it here: the game is not letting me level up my character. The character details section shows locked up. Has anyone run into this?

:( X1 version here

Did you reload after a cutscene glitched in the prologue? If so the same thing happened to me. I figured it out quick though.

Yeah I played pro-mage too, I just don't agree with people who are like "What blood mages??? I don't see any blood mages here!!" lol. A lot of Anders apologists were pissed off that the Dragon Age Keep voiceover by Varric stated that
hundreds/thousands of people were killed in the chantry explosion
and it's like...well what did you expect???

Didn't want to quote every single post but...

I
almost killed
Anders, but then I realized I had encouraged him the entire time, and at that point my Hawke was just so done (she wanted nothing to do with politics or saving people) that she just didn't want to deal with any of it any more.

There is a line, if you have Sebastian, where he says, "
I'm leaving, and after all of this is over, I'm bringing Starkhaven's army and we are taking Anders into custody.
" At that point, I wanted to say, "
You can have him. Maybe he should be killed, but I'm not the one to make that choice.
"

My point is, as much as I love the decisions and the writing in BioWare games, there is not enough room for nuance.

Oh and screw you guys. Maybe it was just the way I roleplayed Hawke, but Merrill and Isabela (and Varric) were her faves.

Man, the companions in DA2 were terrible. Isabella annoyed the crap out of me. I wish there was an option to actively kill her off.
Merill was just annoying, but otherwise eh. Anders was super angsty with no development. Fenris.. man he was sour and angry. I wondered why he even bothered tag along with the party.

Yeah that's a good point, that's probably why I had
spared him
as well. Since I was playing as pro-mage everything that I had said to him in an attempt to keep everyone of my companions as friends rather than rivals could be perceived as encouragement. At the same time he was heavily influenced by Justice and to the point where it was unhealthy. BioWare games are great like you said, but I agree that there really isn't room for deviation into gray decision making territory as much. It's more of a perception of difficult decisions. The end result is pretty much the same. I don't how that will bleed into DA:I though but I guess we will find out soon.

Yeah. I should not have any problems but I feel sorry for the bro's and sis' that have a shitty line and will have a hard time to get it ready in time..

I do not think you need to feel so confident because it rarely relies on your own connection but more on the servers of Sony. If those are getting hammered your download speed will be insanely slow.

I never recruited Isabella. I played the whole game expecting her to pop up in the story, and then the credits rolled. I was like wtf it's over?

Isabella's the worst. She
ran off with the Qunari holy scriptures and never returned
because I lacked a few points in Friendship or Rivalry. It also forced me to
kill the Arishok
. I was so pissed.

DA2 Anders is the worst character in the DA universe. What he did was cheap writing on Bioware part, a forced dramatic scene because they needed something dramatic to spice up the story. Nobody asked for it.

I don't know the specifics but this one decision does have a tangible consequence in DAI, so looking forward to that.

Could use an opinion, GAF... About buying this from US-PSN. I live in EU.

Are there any downsides/risks to it? What I mean by that for example: Account banning, losing licenses and even the Keep. I plan on playing this with my eu-profile naturally and I will waste SO MUCH time on this that I would love to be sure before buying...

Nope, not a thing. Sony don't care. In fact they probably love it.

Just buy PSN codes off of Amazon.

Did the same already twice. Only downside on my end is, that my second user has no PS+ and thus all cool features (DL in standby etc) don't work. As long as your second user makes your PS4 as primary everything works totally fine. Prices in EU are horrible. In the end I paid 48€ instead of 69,99€ for the same game.
You can play it in you EU language (if it is not english) as well.

Anders was cool in the DAO dlc. anders was a cock in da2.

different writers tho. The writer for anders in da2 is awful and horrible. She needs to stop.

no downside in my experience

Haven't read the whole thread, so apologies if this has been asked...but are there controller / camera features on PS4 that will not be a feature on PC, that would warrant a PS4 purchase over PC like.

(Yes, I am shallow like that)

Yup you can.

It seems easy enough but just for safety. Is there a thread with instruction or something? I plan to buy a PS4 in the next few days (I'll probably wait for the GTAV bundle on Tuesday). I guess the PS4 will make me create my basic EU account, then I create a US account and use it to buy Inquisition, that's it? I read before that I have to set my PS4 as primary, I don't know what it means but I guess I can find out

The PC version supports controllers as well. It should play just like the ps4 version. I'm getting the PC version for 60fps gameplay though 😊
