Anyone know what the flames of the inquisition weapons included with the deluxe stuff are like? Are they quickly replaced by more powerful stuff? Do you get them at the beginning?

First aren't they pre-order, not deluxe items? Second, dunno about their strength, the more important aspect is that you get their schematics or forms so while the actual items you get might not be strong after a few hours you can craft items in their likeness that do have good stats. So if you really like the way that armor looks or that sword or shield looks you can craft weapons and armor that look just like them but will have better stats or stats you want them to have even 100 hours in at the end of the game.

The time you see is your local time (based on your computer clock) that it will unlock, I am pretty sure. Via a Korean VPN, it tells me it will unlock at 9 AM which is in 11 hours from my time. If you're in the UK, 15:00 is 11 hours from where you are, I believe.
Oh really? Okay.

As far as i have heard so far they are pretty basic and received at the start, with the option to turn them into more powerful items with crafting later on, could be wrong though as my info all comes from reading biowares forums.

Yep you're right, I guess just the armor is with the deluxe edition.

That was me - nothing happened. When 9pm rolled around, the play button remained greyed out. I couldn't do anything, and when I double clicked the DA:I icon, a message said it wasn't available until November 17th.

But, Origins actually still says November 16th at 9:00PM, just like the screenshot! Its mocking me.

So, Ive been making sure the Korean VPN is ready to rumble tomorrow morning

well that turned out to be anti-climatic. in any case, here's to tomorrow!

So you can have virtually identical armor throughout the game, but have it scale by redrafting it?

Yeah, as long as you find the form for it. Finding armor doesn't automatically give you the schematics for it though unfortunately and I'm not sure if it's been confirmed or not that every weapon and piece of armor has a schematic, especially for some unique ones. Hopefully they do, but I can't say for sure one way or the other.

Does the DA Origin entry in the OP spoil any major plot points or twists? Cuz I've yet to start DA Origin and want to jump right into this one ^^;

Good enough for me, I'd much rather have consistent armor throughout the game!

this is especially true for mages. In games like DAII there was like 1 cool style for robes and the rest looked like shit. I mean sure mages got the coolest looking final armor, but it wasn't worth all the shitty robes.

I mean the whole point of it is to tell you what happened. So yes.

I hate to break it to you, but this game is also going to spoil stuff from the other games.

Okay, I gotta ask. How you kids gettin the thingy to unlock with a VPN what is that even.
Download the Softether VPN Client + VPNGate Client plugin from here, when you install it and run it the first time, double click the VPNGate public VPN relay servers and accept all the various prompts and then when it comes to a list of servers pick a Korean one. Exit and relaunch Origin if you already have it open.

Major props to all those involved on the creation of the OT. Looks quite good.

Since we are already on page 9, what's the consensus? Everyone is going to to use a VPN to unlock the game earlier? (which I assume is in 8-10 hrs away for Korea)

Also, did we ever heard what does the 0-day patch included in the preload fixes?
I probably will start by creating my character, then jump to Multiplayer to get used to the controls, and then get back to SP for a new proper session (likely with a new designed char). Can't wait to see how everyone's Inquisitor looks (specially female Qunari).

Yes. Its a summary of the whole game including how it concludes and its end game.

If you don't want to get spoiled for origins and Da2, it would be best to play them before inquisition.

I don't know if it's the same for other people, but I've found the only way to connect to any of the Asian VPNs is to select the UDP protocol option here:

Should work with TCP, the differences between the two protocols should be irrelevant when its used in a manner like this.

It would be very difficult to play this game without knowing anything about the DAO and DA2 storylines (if you're interested in the story that is). The OP did a great job with a general summary of them. I mean, try to imagine trying to play Mass Effect 3 without playing or reading about 1 and 2.

Having finished my watch-through of the DA2 cinematics I'm all set for DAI. I would definitely argue against "playing" DA2 given how clearly repetitive things are with the combat and the environments, but it wouldn't hurt to watch the cinemas.

I still need to create save states in the Keep though. Better get that done now. Cannot wait for this to be unlocked. Though I wish they did weekend unlocks, I know no one does because no company wants to do QA/CS over a weekend for initial players. No doubt I'll probably spend the first few hours I have the first night just creating characters. :(

Can't wait to see more of Varric.

But jeez, whose idea was it to give Dorian that stupid mustache? And I wish the Iron Bull looked more like the Qunari of DA2 than he does now.

I really with the OT title had been "Escape from Shit Mountain" :P

Seriously, even watching just the cinemas of DA2 I could see just how terrible the environments looked both technically and artistically. And to imagine having to go through those same areas time and time again without any change in them over the course of 40+ hours would be just mind-numbing.

Thankfully just a few screens of DAI look 100X better than DA2.

Don't hate the 'tache bro.
I just can't take it seriously. It's so hilarious looking.

Ah I see, gonna go read the entries for DA 1 and 2 then, at least for DA 1 I'll enjoy the combat based on how well its recieved.

Can anyone tell me if the Knight Enchanter wears armor or robes? Sounds like a really cool class but not sure if I want to go that way if I can't be alil more tanky.

They said you can find armor schematics for mages that look like plate armor, but strictly speaking you can just put plate mail on a mage, even if they are a KE.

no way to confirm but clothing/armor can have different stats. The way this game works is that your stats come almost entirely from your equipment and weapons. So unless you can find armor with magic stats.

It's 684 KB [~0.684 MB] in size so I doubt its fixing anything outside of random typo and missing , or .
Well, Frostbite use heavy compression, I think. I'm mostly hoping issues like the mouse losing focus is fixed.

Shame that unlocking the 30 fps limit during cutscenes is apparently not as simple.

Day 1 patch for BF 4 was easily several hundred MBs. What DAI has as Day 0/1 patch is joke, that size means some typo fixes more or less.

I doubt cutscenes will get unlocked if their reason for lock is that animations and sync don't utterly break.
