Speaking of which, I highly recommend a bag autosorter like Adibags. The default bag setup is almost unplayable for me, even with the half-assed sorting options that launched with the pre-Warlords patch.

Kinda used to it by now. The official options need sorting capabilities for the og backpack too, tho.

Did you miss the Grummlepack?

Have it on my rogue, so some panda reward I guess? Can't be assed to go back.

I encountered this yesterday and feel like I'm screwed now. Is there a way to make the level 100 follower inactive or something so the level 100 missions stop showing up?

You can make followers inactive if you go over the cap (default 20). But that probably won't happen until you get to 100.

Currently when levelling I can blaze through 1-60 on my characters without an issue (thanks cata!) but the Burning Crusade shit just stonewalls me. It's not a fun experience to go through.

80-85 cata sucks just as much

also, levelling as enhancement has been a pain in the dick. I dont know if I'm doing it wrong(most likely the case and enhancement is probably fine) but I just dont have a feel for the class anymore (haven't played since you used to cast windfury/flametongue on your weapons and actually used more than 1 totem per fight)

Some classes got streamlined a lot and thats okay I just dont grasp what the class is anymore since they changed so much

You start by casting flame shock (Unleash first if the mob will probably live through the whole DoT) and dropping searing totem, then it's just stormstrike/lava lash/frost shock (Earth shock is gone from enhancement), and lightning bolt when your maelstrom has reached full stacks. For multiple mobs you spread flame shock with lava lash and then use fire nova (and unleash when it's up to buff the next nova) to do a lot of AoE damage.
There used to be a sort of combo system with stacks from searing totem being spent by lava lash but that's gone now.

It just sucks how they made unleash a pure buff instead of an actual attack. No joy in casting it and just feels like one extra annoying GCD to waste, and it's not like it matters much since shaman damage is outright pitiful right now. Pretty odd considering I could take on most other melees like retridins and rogues before the expansion hit.

So MoP had stuff like this, but it wasn't nearly as obvious and they've spent a great deal in refining it. Also don't forget to buy the treasure maps from the Arrok at Warspear (Ashran) near the Archeology trainer. You can buy them for each zone you've finished quests in.

THANX

I have a dwarf alt (with the treasure tracking racial bonus) and I was amazed by how much treasure they scattered around the world. It's everywhere and it often includes garrison resources so it's very welcome! ..but it's very hard to find when it doesn't appear on the map.

Also you can mail them to alts and other people. (at least last I checked.) but I think you have to use them on each character. (100g a pop i think? it was late last night when I bought them)
Edit: Yeah 100g a pop: http://www.wowhead.com/npc=88253

MoP has various rares in every zone that can drop some good gear (random blue stuff but also some specific epic weapons/armor) and hidden treasures (BoA blue weapons and some trinkets/neck but also vendor trash worth 100g+) in the world though nothing on the level of what I imagine WoD to be (based on what you all say, I'm still waiting on my box).

It's done much better in WoD. The gear is actually useful.

I'll probably be flamed for this but, IMO, the bosses in the dungeons have way too much HP. Love the mechanics of them, but they're ridiculous damage sponges. If feels like I'm playing Destiny.

Oh God, please no. That's the most annoying shit ever, I hate sponges.

Dungeons seem to be a mess in general, the amount of experience they give is pathetic. Someone dropped the ball there.

Slightly over 2 minutes to kill a boss when executing correctly isn't that long for 5 mans imo. It's just such a stark contrast to MoP where you could roll through them, especially by the end where they just dropped dead in <30 seconds.

Bosses definitely take a bit to down, but it hasn't felt overly spongey to me.

And honestly, like Dresden said, they'll be dropping like flies eventually anyway.

If you're dropping bosses in 2 minutes then you're in infinitely better groups than I've been in. In my experience, it seems like the boss HP (and even some trash) doesn't quite mesh with the DPS squish.

The cutscenes for this expansion are amazing. In just one week they have packed more excitement into WoD then MoP had in its entire span. MoP for me was just beyond boring. Boring zones, boring raid content, boring lore. WoD is a huge improvement in all areas (minus queue time!).

I'm actually excited for the raid content in this one because I like the villains. Gul'dan, and Blackhand are both menacing. Should be some fun fights.

Depends on what kind of gear your groups are going into the expansion with. MoP raiders are easily doing 10k+ dps, while newer 90s are more like 4-5k. If you get stuck with three 5k dps the dungeon is going to drag a bit. :P

I love how the tune has changed now that this expansion is out. A few months ago, you'd have every wow diehard praising MoP as the best expansion for the game and that the detractors just "don't understand" or are blinded by "kung-fu panda."

I suppose maybe a lot of people that got bored with cata/mop came back and actually like the game again, and they're drowning out the lifers.

During BC was my peak playing time, so the similarities to this expansion in theme are tempting me. Unfortunately, my server is Sargeras and it's one of the highest pop servers, so I'd be dealing with queues. Come December, if queues go down/away, I may actually be tempted to sub again.

I couldn't imagine myself saying this a few months ago.

I'll always defend MoP. Think it was a great expansion.

And I'm on Sargeras also. Scared to see what the queue will be when I get home. I miss the days when I could actually play during the week ={

MoP was a great expansion. A lot of lore and world building, interesting boss mechanics. I had a lot of fun with it.

I got level 100. I guess I should start trying to do level 100 dungeons to gear for heroics, but I feel like those queue times are going to be a nightmare.

Warlords of Draenor being great doesn't retroactively make Mists of Pandaria a failed expansion. It did get a lot of blind from people who passed on it because lol pandas, but it was still a terrific expansion.

Oh man, I'm the opposite (and apparently in the minority). I absolutely loved MoP's zones, Jade Forest and Kun-Lai summit are easily some of the best in the game. The music was brilliant, the art was fantastic, and I really enjoyed the story (even if I didn't raid at all).

I'm only 95 on WoD, and I'm kind of conflicted on the quests. On one hand, they're obviously an improvement from past expansions. On the other hand, the questing experience seems pretty linear so far, which is a huge step back from Mists (although, granted, it doesn't feel as linear as Cataclysm was). Leveling alts in linear content isn't exactly enjoyable.

I'm not sure how the questing in linear in WoD. Once you complete a few quests in a zone, usually it alerts you of others all over the map. WoD is so non-linear I sometimes found myself having to stop and think what order I wanted to tackle them in. lol

Still my favorite expansion by a long shot, too early to rank WoD really as being better than it since I am looking at it from the big picture.

That said I do find the people who are praising the questing experience in WoD as so much better than any other xpac fairly humorous. Structure-wise WoD is set up exactly the same as MoP except the random side hubs that appeared as exclamation points on the map are now bonus objectives. MoP also had the hidden treasure/rare spawn exploration aspect as well but there was less of them and no map you could buy to uncover them all (though for rare spawns I think that was a good thing. Most rare spawns in WoD suck by comparison).

All WoD has really done is build on the MoP foundation, which is a good thing since MoP was without a doubt my favorite questing experience of all the expansions.

I'm probably doing it wrong then.

Is that the main part to end game like it was in Vanilla WoW, that and Battle ground PvP.

Keep in mind I have not played in over 8 years.

Yeah, but it's a bit different now. Now you essentially run regular dungeons to queue up for heroics, to queue up for LFR, to get into standard raids, and so on. And yeah, PVP is still essentially the same if you want to do that.

This is the first time I have played WoW in 6 years and I can't believe how fun the questing is. I have harboured a very bad opinion of WoW since levelling a warrior to 60 in the original game, it was a fucking nightmare.

Warriors are so different now than back in vanilla, it's not even funny. Like you said, they used to be a nightmare to level, and, IMO, played slow as molasses. Now they're quick and much simpler. I actually main one now.

I feel like I should level a ret paladin for some reason.

I boosted a ret paladin last time i touched a paladin was 10 years ago lol but now there fun! I have a lot of fun with them my second spec is going to be prot.

Also landed in Spire of Arak i always loved the Arakkoa from TBC now it's cool to see what happend to them. They will always remind me of The Dark Crystal from Jim Henson.

Awesome, thanks.

Yea, I remember every fight took ages and it really made me hate the game. By the time I got to the end-game, when the warriors were quite rare and very useful, I was just so burned out that I stopped playing.

I went with the arms specialisation, is there a way that I can use 2x2-handed swords?

Gotta go fury for that.

Wow, nice shot!

I am still in Shadowmoon due to work / massive queues. Can't wait to see these later zones.

hows the servers and garrison bugs and whatnot now? Im going to jump into Dragon Age tomorow, which I imagine will take me about a week, after that im finally free to do whatever, and Im thinking of finally jumping in on Warlords

Yeah, furry dual wields 2h weapons.

Thanks. I was planning on sticking with arms whilst levelling as it seemed to be straight up DPS, is fury just a different type of DPS?

They play differently. I personally prefer arms because I like how straight forward it is.

Got my paladin to lvl 100 and got his gear to 630 ilvl. Really hurts replacing mythic warforged gear with blues :( or the legendary cloak with a blue item :(

I don't remember the last time I had this much fun leveling. The zones are beautiful and NAGRAND is like amazing. I loved that zone. Leveling my warrior next. I don't mind garrison much. It's alright. I am finding it a bit confusing. Apart from the launch disaster the game itself is the best I have played so far. To early to rank it. My ranking generally depends on Raid tiers. So lets hope Highmaul delivers.

Hows everyone making money now?

Making around 8-10k an hour skinning in Nagrand.
Lot of people seem to be wanting leather. 20g per hide on my server.
