Hows everyone making money now?

Making around 8-10k an hour skinning in Nagrand.
Lot of people seem to be wanting leather. 20g per hide on my server.
Holy shit. My hunter is max skinning, but wasn't planning on leveling him any time soon.

Anyone making decent money from herbalism?

I'm not an herbalist but I made a lot of money from selling my garrison herbs. I wish I had sold all of my ore on the first day because the price has plummeted since everyone is getting massive amounts from their garrison mines.

I'm making Truesteel bars with my ores but as of yet I haven't sold any. I'm caught between making some money and keeping them for if/when I want to actually make something.

But if I do want some cash... I'm guessing it's time to gather my herbs from my regent bank, slap 'em on the auction house, and rip people off grease the wheels of capatalism?

Any class rankings yet as to what the best dpsers/tanks/healers are or how they stack up so far?

I've heard a lot of tuning is still going to happen though by the time the raids hit. Is that true?

Not sure about PVE wise, but druids are going to get nerfed not just into the ground, but through the world to the other side due to them being bullshit in PvP once again. So pve druids can thank the PvP players for that which is blizzards fault for their stupid tuning. When you read the druid players not having an answer other than "just don't 1v1 or 2v1 them stupid", and you have to treat them like raid bosses, the bat will swing. And it's justified.

I camped Poundfist for a few hours today, trying to get that Gronn mount. He didn't spawn. I looked around and no one has even seen him spawn yet. You'd think someone would have killed him by now? Like a screenshot of the mount appearing online or something, but nothing yet.

ugh hit 100 but dont have the resources to get level 3

about 1500 away and looking for all these treasures is a pain (especially because some dont even have rewards)

I just went to Bladespire/sootstained mines for 10 minutes and found 0 treasures even though theres apparently 500 according to the map

If you look up Garrison resources on wowhead and search its related spells, you should see a handful of items that provide 100 resources and a couple that will give you 250. That is how I got enough for lvl 3 Garrison.

They disabled one of the conquest sellers :( I was so close to the 1250 conquest cloak

So if your on NA, go play pvp for a few hours as its a easy to gain 640 item

Finally 100, ran a few dungeons. Did the extremely irritating/boring grind that is the 100 artifacts in ashran daily quest, was still better than skettis. Up to 605, pulling 12k dps on gladiator, that's about how much dps I did at 90 in 6.0 :(. Gladiator is pretty fun, unsure if I'll stick with it, have to try arms still. Still 200 resources shy of level 3 keep, need to hunt some treasures tomorrow. Did silver challenge which was easy enough, probably start queueing for heroics by tomorrow night.

Glad stance seems a little unfair to other specs in terms of pvp and damage. It has the best survivability cooldowns and seemingly the highest single target damage as well.

Ashran itself seems a lot like old av. I'd love to see it end sometime. Seems like a big zerg fest but I think it could be fun to get a group of 5 friends and roam pvp the side objectives and maybe that will make enough of a difference to turn the tide.

Blizzard can be really slow to fix glaring balance issues though. I remember for a time a decently geared warlock had it all in PvP: high damage and burst, plenty of utility for CC, survivability, massive self heals, the pet, etc. Seeing one in Warsong Gulch or AB completely changed the dynamic of the entire match, since it would take three or four well-geared people to handle the warlock if there wasn't another around. It remained that way for months.

is there any way to get gear outside of dungeons/raids?
daily quests? reputation? anything?

the only thing I found was that garrison assault quest and thats terrible.

No to daily quests, reputation gets you a trinket. You can find some gear going through the treasures and rares in the world, Nagrand obviously will have the best ilvl wise outside of the lvl 100 daily areas. The last option is the rare loot follower missions.

:-O

I am an intermittent player and was proud of myself for having worked the AH to get myself 100k.

Seems like I wasted a lot of time!

Is anyone else doing every single quest?

I dinged 93, but I'm only just getting out of shadowmoon now :lol

It's so fun though

I will be - love the questing. I'm massively disappointed that the levelling process seems so quick :( We have 12-18 months to be level 100, what's wrong with levelling taking a few days of /played ??

Just did my first Ashran.....and was totally fucking lost. It's just a PvE race right? Cuz that is what it seems like. Super laggy too, and kept getting one shotted by boss. On the plus side some of the seemingly unrelated bonus objectives on the sides seem to grant a bunch of honor.

But really, is there any reason to do this instead of farming BGs? Conquest ya, but once the PvP season starts not even that.

just here to cry a little..I am so jealous of everyone of you! Wish I could buy the WoW CE and play.

(I can't buy the normal version, I always bought the Blizzard CEs and not buying one would destroy the collector in me)

Yeah, level 96 here, in what, 4 days? I think it took me at least 3 to 4 weeks to hit cap in Pandaria, Wrath and Cataclysm. TBC was even longer if I remember right. It almost feels a little too fast now. I might also be playing a bit more than I did back then I can't remember. I'm enjoying the faster levelling though. It just makes it feel a little smaller than usual, but maybe it is anyway?

When this expansion was announced I was really, really worried I was going to hate questing in it. Not because I had no faith in WoW quests, but mostly because of how much I just straight up HATE the Burning Crusade zones. The amount of alts I have abandoned once they got 60-ish and had to go to Hellfire is almost uncountable.

So far I've made it through what I assume is 50% of the first zone, and it's been completely 100% awesome so far. Almost nothing reminds me of the BC zones, and when little things do (mushrooms from Zangermarsh!) I'm not reminded of running back and forth over seemingly endless zones. I love the enemy intros, the banter between characters, the discovery of messing around with your Garrison (ihavenoideawhati'mdoing), and the Rare finding so far. Can't wait to get in the first dungeon.

Speaking of that, two quick questions for everyone:
1) Does the first dungeon have any Alliance build up quests? I never want to do a dungeon until it gets explained and/or introduced through story progress because I'm silly, but I heard the first dungeon (Slag Mines) is in a Horde only zone. Is that true?
2) Work orders: Do you stack work orders to be completed every 4 hours, or do you stack them to have one completed every 4 hours? For instance, if I stack two work orders on my Tailoring building, when I open the box after 4 hours do I get the resources from two completed work orders, or only one (and it immediately starts work on the next queued work order)? Having to re-submit every 4 hours seems crazy, as I'm betting there are people obsessed with waking up every 4 to maximize their production.

Don't really understand why you would be worried about questing in WoD just because you dislike questing in the oldest and most dated content currently in WoW ( 99% of people hate going through that 10 level period ). TBC doesn't suck to quest in because of the location it's in. But because the content was made almost a decade ago with much less mmo experience on the developer side.

1. Slag Mines has zero alliance build up quests from what I can tell. The dungeon itself is located in frostfire ridge as well.

2. Work orders complete one at a time. if you stack up 10 work orders, it will take 40 hours before you have them done

I haven't been putting anything up on the AH yet, since I want to keep it all for alchemy skill, but Frostweed in particular is quite the moneymaker right now, at least on my server (Hyjal). Its used in quite a bit of stuff atm, (work orders, recipe research, general recipes). I haven't looked personally since i've been trying to hit 100, and haven't left draenor, but a bud of mine said it was selling for around 15-20 a piece on the AH. I don't know if its still like that though, but it was over this weekend.

Oh I know, It's completely unfounded and silly to feel that way, but just seeing the dark portal fills me with dread of leveling up in BC content again. I'm just glad that absolutely none of those feelings have manafested themselves in this expansion (so far). I'm freaking loving it.

1) That's good to know, but kind of a bummer. I always have more fun in dungeons when some kind of story builds up to it. Looks like I'm doing a new dungeon when I get home today!

2) Thank god. Remember that part where I said "some people would obsess over waking up every 4 hours"?.... I'm "some people" (I think).

Anyone got quick advice for someone starting out the expansion? So far I've read:
a) Replace the Barracks with a Dwarven Bunker ASAP to get better gear rolls.
b) Build a Mill for the first Medium building since resources are so scarce.
c) Do Nagrand Quests for gear upgrades (Go to zone as soon as possible?)
d) Start Legendary Ring quest when you can (and save 5000 Apexis).

Anything else super important?

Sorry if I missed this, what's the % increase to get upgraded drops/rewards with the Bunker? I went Stable almost solely for the convenience of not having to hop off and back on my mount when collecting quest items/lumber/etc. That is nice, but if the Bunker provides a considerable chance to get an upgrade then I'd probably switch it out.

Cataclysm was the quickest levelling experience from what I remember (and what I can glean from checking my achievements). TBC took me about a week (real time, not /played), Wrath was similar, Cata I was done in a day, Mists 3 days or so, and now WoD took just under two days (started midnight on the 14th, hit 100 in the evening on the 15th, with a couple of ~6h breaks in there for sleep).

Just turned up on the forums:

WoW Community:

I know how much everyone was looking forward to this expansion, and once you were able to get in and start having fun, all the comments I've seen indicate that this is one of our best yet. But the quality of the content does not excuse the subpar launch experience we delivered, and I apologize for that.

The first two days of the expansion were not a great experience, with many of you facing high queues or significant gameplay problems. We worked around the clock to tackle the demand issues and technical challenges, and fortunately things started looking better on Saturday. While millions of you were able to get in and play over the weekend, with many already reaching level 100, others still ran into very lengthy queues, particularly on the highest-population realms.

To help address this, we’ve expanded the new instancing tech we used to improve queues on Saturday and we’re continuing the process of applying that to raise the capacity of all realms again. This will result in approximately double the prelaunch capacity on each realm, which should greatly reduce queue times for most realms if not eliminate queues altogether.

In recognition of the difficulties so many of you ran into when trying to play over the first few days, we're adding five days’ worth of extra time to every subscription in the Americas, Oceania, and Europe that was active as of Friday, November 14. Things are already in a much better place than they were going into the weekend, so I hope you’ll now be able to focus on having a ton of fun with this expansion.

I also hope you'll accept my apology and keep your faith in us. The support voiced by many of you as we worked through the challenges was immensely appreciated. We're extremely grateful to be part of such a passionate community. We love World of Warcraft, and we're very proud of this expansion, so stumbling out of the gates like this was very disappointing for all of us.

On behalf of the World of Warcraft development team, as well as everyone at Blizzard, thank you all again for your patience and understanding.

See you in Draenor.

Sincerely,
J. Allen Brack
Executive Producer, World of Warcraft

Awesome move Blizzard. After being bummed about the launch this is the nicest thing they could do.

My sub just ran out too. I wonder when they'll add the time.

Anyone gotten theirs already?

The game will randomly play a "thud" sound, like the impact of a blunt melee weapon. It sounds like the sound source is the same as self-buffs, so not related to something that's happening outside my character.
Any idea what's causing it?

edit: I just asked in general chat and got several replies of others who are experiencing the same, but don't know why.
It's being described as the sap sound. I guess it's a bug.

Just turned up on the forums:
Wow, I didn't expect anything, this is pretty cool. I played so much Ashran last night I didn't want to log out (some part of it being fear of a queue.)

I've noticed it mostly in my garrison. I didn't recall hearing it at all in Ashran last night, but when I went back to my garrison I heard it multiple times before logging out. I heard it in Nagrand too. (Maybe I was just too intensly pvping in Ashran to notice it.)

I did see a post about this on the wow tech support forums (EU). Apparently it only affects some people.

They are investigating the cause and updating that particular thread.
