Halo: MCC Multiplayer "1th" patch "fix" live!

I'd be far more civil if there was a refund program. Just give me my 60 bucks back and we're cool.

But since that isn't the case, and consumers continue to get screwed, I think anger and frustration are both warranted.

Well, it's up there. Right with gears 2 if not worse. We are paying customers our outrage is deserved.
 
I just came up with my own fix: turn off my Xbox One, do other things with my life, and return to the game in a few weeks.

I've been able to finally get in games now (2-4min wait) which is a sign of fixes actually working. Needs to be much better since CoD: AW does it in 5-10 seconds.

Lol at all the foaming at the mouth "LET ME RAGE" posters, so desperately trying to compare this to Drive Club.

You're right. It's worse. With DriveClub atleast you could play the single player without bugs. In MCC you can't do shit without the risk of running into bugs.

Im an informed consumer with perspective, something this forum lacks greatly. People slandering developers in hateful and rude ways are ignorant, and if you promote that then you too are ignorant. It isn't me telling you what to spend your money on, it's a voice of reason and common sense to not spend $60 on a video game if you consider it a lot of money.

"Take these companies to task"? Listen to how ridiculous you sound. You make it sound like 343 has personally wronged you on purpose. There are other people on the other end who are working furiously to make this work.

1) I agree. It isn't unreasonable, and expecting a fix isn't uncalled for whatsoever. However, I personally wouldn't wish long, grueling hours on anyone, regardless my level of anger. 3) What Microsoft needs to do is learn from their mistakes. Giving refunds and compensating the affected are only two things. They need to take this and learn, and so does 343i.

I don't have any more faith in 343i than I did going in. That doesn't mean some arbitrary level of trust was shattered by this game. I'm still fairly neutral. I've personally been enjoying my time with the collection, and have enjoyed the limited amount of multiplayer I've been able to get in.

To those that are affected by issues, they are thoroughly justified in their dissatisfaction. But acting like a fussy child gets no one anywhere. That seriously just needs to stop.

Don't see what was rude about that reply. I agree with most of it. I just disagree on to some to an extent, about people "acting like fussy children". Maybe there are examples of people acting unreasonable. Fair enough. But I kind of hate how there is a narrative where consumers are "entitled" and being whiny over something that is JUST $60 and is JUST a video game (like seriously it's just a game).

Or at least, it sometimes feels like that. Like some are always quick to defend, and if you are angry you are being unreasonable. I'm tired of companies releasing products that are broken and then the consumer being unreasonable for expecting it to work at launch. Or being unreasonable when they get really angry.

I'm not saying anyone here is specifically saying that. I guess it's just how I feel sometimes. But I can understand people saying there is a reasonable way to express your anger and criticism vs. flat out losing your shit (which might just come off as loud noise and not be helpful). I dunno. This whole thing is a clusterfuck. And I'm really sad for anyone that is out $60 on this. Or those really looking forward to this (I've read so many cases of people buying this console just for this game. Or people setting aside an entire week off work to play this with friends and family). This isn't always just $60. It's people's time as well.

It did help that they were quoted continuously for a solid page and probably reported, but that's beside the point.

I think we all understand that there's no excuse for this and that 343 should be working to the best of their ability to make things square with customers, while MS should simultaneously accommodate refund requests. People have the right to be upset, but let's all remember that 343 isn't trying to fuck people over, and that they are real people.

Gears 2 had bad netcode, so does this

Gears 2 didn't crash to dash, hard reset console, crash to black screen with error code, parties worked, horde worked, campaign worked, menus worked, save progress worked, it didn't drop to 15fps, co op worked

iirc you could find matches they just sucked

They aren't trying to fuck people over. They are doing what's in their best interest. So are we. That's how business works.

The game wasn't complete and they didn't think it was worth it to invest more money into it. Instead, they dropped the game and got what they could get.

The logic just gets more hilariously outrageous. So now anyone who thinks $60 is a lot of money should not spend that $60 on a game. What kind of sick twisted bullshit is this? Are you fucking Mitt Romney?

But here's the more important point. Even if it was $10, consumers still should be loudly complaining. The amount of money is actually irrelevant. You're exchanging cash for goods. When you do that, you expect those 'goods' to work exactly as advertised. If they don't, consumers do what's next - they complain, sometimes loudly. I cannot tell you the number of times I had to deal with customer service and they said they couldn't do anything thirty times only for me to raise my voice and start talkin' about the BBB and then magically they fix the problem.

Loud consumer anger has shown consistently to be extremely effective in forcing companies to fix problems. I can list a million examples, some within this very industry. So, sorry you don't like it - Deal with it.

I'm sounding like 343i released a product they knew was not fucking ready. That's all. Just like Ubisoft with Unity, just like Evolution with DriveClub. It's no big conspiracy. These companies had a job, they fucking failed at it, and consumers get angry. Rightfully. And they have every right to express that anger as loudly as they see fit.

It's not even fun when i do get a match. The netcode/p2p sucks so bad what the hell is the point of it? I was excited for 60fps Halo with dedicated servers.

I'm done. I will come back to this when i know it's working perfect and the servers are up running. No point in aggravating myself further.

This is more than likely many of the developers at 343's dream game. You don't think they are upset that the game isn't working as intended. I'm sure they are angry as well and yet they are the ones trying to fix it. Being supportive and trying to be helpful will probably go further in helping the game get working correctly quicker.

I understand the frustration, but taking that frustration to a level of attack on 343 is wrong.
 
I really do hope that this eventually gets fixed though. I mean, I think we can all agree that we wish this worked at launch. Some have chosen to opt out and get refunds. Others are sticking it out. Regardless, I just hope those that want to play this, eventually get to play it as it should have been intended.

I guess that's just my final word on it. I still take a lot of issue with games being released and not working (especially in cases where, they knew it wasn't ready, but needed to get it out on time to hit a release date. Not saying this was the case here, but I'm tired of companies doing this, as it seems to be common lately).

Didn't mean to offend anyone. In the end, I just want what is best for everyone, you know?

Matchmaking seems to make the user more informative of the process. However, I think the user still needs to back out when the error of connecting to host occurs because I have not yet found a match when that happens. The user must restart the search process.

My game hasn't crashed yet. However, I've already become accustomed of not diving into postgame stats as that was a game crashing bug. Avoid looking at most weapon kills. Just don't hit that A button after a multiplayer game unless you're voting.

Overall, the game is somewhat better with some minor bugs making the polish some steps backwards (e.g. no medals for classic Halo 1 and 2 multiplayer) compared to the first week.

First days: Barely playing any games with many crashes in between.

Last week to today: Playing games consistently with minor bug annoyances.

I DON'T CARE HOW THEY FEEL. They didn't care enough about me to sell me their broke ass game for $60. Why should I care? My support up to launch, BUYING AN XBOX ONE, convincing my friends to ALSO BUY THIS GAME AND XBOX ONE CONSOLES, should have been enough to ensure this game launched correctly by your logic. This disaster has made me totally fucking indifferent to their poor little feelings while my money is in their pocket that I'm never getting back. Why are you so goddamn insistent on trying to relate to these people on a personal level?

Honest question: Do you work for 343? Because with every post you make about how we should care about their personal feelings, you increase my suspicions further.

I'm more or less simply tired of blatant hyperbole. That stuff kind of pisses me off when all the negative just compounds. I'm mostly a happy kind of person, so overwhelmingly negative stuff can really get on my nerves, no matter what it's directed at.
