Halo: MCC Multiplayer "1th" patch "fix" live!

God you guys are fucking rough.

Go play dozens of hours of SP content, or any of the million other games that just game out, or get some fresh air.

Do something. No this is not the biggest fuck up of all time. Frustrating? Yes. Worth having an aneurism over? No.

Relax. Enjoy life, let 343i get it fixed. I am sure they are trying.

This type of attitude honestly disgusts me.

People have EVERY RIGHT to be upset about a game they paid SIXTY DOLLARS for.

As a consumer, I demand the products I purchase to work as promised.

If you're not upset about buying a broken piece of software, that's perfectly fine, but other people are allowed to be frustrated about this.

I bought an XB1 mainly for Halo games and I'm pretty upset with myself. Thankfully I'm mainly a SP guy, so it's not the end of the world for me, personally...but I COMPLETELY understand why it is for many in the Halo community.

Ah sorry. Excuse my dumb dumb.

No worries.

Matchmaking seems to make the user more informative of the process. However, I think the user still needs to back out when the error of connecting to host occurs because I have not yet found a match when that happens. The user must restart the search process.

My game hasn't crashed yet. However, I've already become accustomed of not diving into postgame stats as that was a game crashing bug. Avoid looking at most weapon kills. Just don't hit that A button after a multiplayer game unless you're voting.

Overall, the game is somewhat better with some minor bugs making the polish some steps backwards (e.g. no medals for classic Halo 1 and 2 multiplayer) compared to the first week.

First days: Barely playing any games with many crashes in between.

Last week to today: Playing games consistently with minor bug annoyances.

Posters thought I was a bit over the top saying this is worse than Battlefield and Driveclub.

MCC has a far larger number of issues than those two. The other two have just been a bit broken longer.

But that's ok, MCC wont ever be fixed anyway so I'm comfortable with my original call.

It's been one week only and you've already brushed off the idea of the game being fixed? Man some of these posts are pathetic

Rushed what? They aren't making any new games here. They're remaking stuff that's already been made and porting stuff that's already been made. 343 had a deadline to meet and they fucked up big time.

When you have a deadline and your project isn't ready, but is then released anyway... That is what rushed is, sit back and relax a second dude.

Also you can see all the effort that went in, it's not like this package is straight ports so don't act like it is.

Consumers should just be grateful that they are given the opportunity to spend $60. It's a true blessing to even be able to spend our money, and if a game is broken, we should be grateful we even got to spend money on it.

Ugh. What is wrong with some people. I'll never understand why people try to defend any of this. The whole argument that it's "just a game" and people should just relax, is such non-sense.

I think it's beyond selfish for them to release a game broken, and charge people $60 for it. Consumers aren't loan agencies. I can have sympathy for 343 Studios, or whoever was forced to work under whatever conditions led to this release.

But this isn't excusable. I don't see why it's selfish for consumers to expect a fix ASAP. Do I feel bad for 343? Absolutely. But it is what it is. They should be upset with MS (or whoever made the decision to push this out).

...you completely missed what I was talking about.

I never said it was excusable. I'm calling out dickish attitudes. You have a right to be upset, just as anyone does, but that's no reason to act like an asshat.

I'm happy to defend DLC, even on disc DLC

I'm happy to defend poor design decisions if there's a rationale there

I'm happy to even defend 900p, 30 frames, QTEs (sometimes) and other inane shit gamers complain about these days that is fucking irrelevant.

But I'm surprised at anyone that would defend or excuse a completely busted game. Let alone a major franchise like Halo.

You must have the one true Xbox one. No matchmaking issues and flawless single player. Can you share any advice on why you are so special?

I never said I don't have match making issues. I just have patience to wait especially when the package is more than just match making.

But to play along with your snark I would say patience is my answer.

Getting tired of these self appointed mods trying to tell customers what to do. I usually expect this type of drivel from some juniors before they wise up.

Hopefully everything is up and running smoothly by the time I finish Sunset Overdrive. There's no way they would have shipped this if they knew it was going to fuck up this badly. Come on 343, get this fixed please.

These people are like dogs. They love attention, whether it be positive or negative. Going into a thread for a game and saying "waah I'm gonna return it!" Is uncalled for and attention begging. It adds nothing to the conversation.

Why shouldn't someone try to return this game?

I don't really see what you expect of people though. They are out $60. They paid for a game that is broken. So what attitude should they have? MS released this, and MS pays 343 Studios. This is their mess. Consumers should expect a fix ASAP. If 343 can't fix it, MS needs to get someone else that can.

This is their mess, their game they pushed out. The only thing consumers should be feeling right now, is that they are owed a fix to a product they already paid for. I don't see how that is selfish. There is a reasonable expectation that a product you paid for works. And if it doesn't work, they should expect a fix ASAP.

Low standards like yours are what allows games to be released in this state. You should demand more for your dollars.

PEOPLE PAID MONEY FOR THIS
And not some tiny amount either. It's not cheap.

Any game ever if people have an issue with the way it came out, they absolutely should complain as loudly as humanly possible. Games like Assassin's Creed Unity, DriveClub and the state Halo MCC is in is absolutely unacceptable and there's no reason you or anyone else should be telling people to calm down or telling them to complain less or whatever. Gaming isn't a charity. People are spending money on this shit. Stop trying to moderate people's righteous disappointment or anger.

Yeah single player is kind of fucked as well.

You mean the SP content that randomly deletes progress, loads levels out of order and refuses to unlock achievements?

Indeed. I never said it was acceptable. I just think berating 343i for it and freaking out by yelling into a keyboard at a bunch of people online is not really the best way to manage that disappointment/anger.

Am I upset? Of course. This is the very first game I have purchased since I bought my XBO on Launch day, I ordered it from game UK for a large lump of cash, and it took until yesterday for me to get my hands on it, and it still doesn't work right.

So yeah, I get the frustration, but its the hostility of the environment and the responses I find repulsive. Be constructive, tell 343i what is going wrong, and give them time to fix it. They want it to be fixed more than you do I am sure. Yeah you spent your own 60 bucks on it, but your entire livelihood is not resting on its success. Theirs is.

Trust me, no one want's the servers up and running more than 343i.

And again to reiterate, I am not telling people not to be upset, not at all. I am upset. What I am advising is that you don't get upset to the point where you are cursing people out, breaking things, and or making your favorite message board a hostile environment for imperfect developers and consumers alike.

Returning games that don't work is uncalled for.

This thread is a trip.

Don't know if it's coincidental.

All my H2A games have been laggy. All of them. I don't know if this game is P2P. Nothing feels right. I have to empty more to get a kill, and enemies are teleporting all over the place.

If I play H1, H2, and H3 (no H4 games yet), the netcode is usually fine.

There's nothing wrong with returning the game. People just need to keep it to themselves because I'm pretty sure no one actually cares if someone else returns the game.

If someone here actually cares about someone else's purchasing habits, please raise your hand.

Yep. In fact, some of us have spent over 400 bucks for this.

They did know. There's no way they didn't know. There are more things that are broken in the game than things that work.

I sure hope somebody cares or Halo 5 is gonna be a shitfuck disaster too

I raise my hand btw, what the fuck else is there to talk about in this topic

I don't care what people do, but there have been some actual helpful posts directing people to Xbox.com customer chat as they've had success getting their money back.

My Halo 1 campaign restarted to the beginning of the level that I last played since the patch.

Haven't checked the other games.

Trust me, no one want's the servers up and running more than 343i.

They're the only ones to be hostile at. They released a game in an unready state and people have paid money for it.

I don't really get it. They didn't do their job right. They fucked up. People are telling them they fucked up, and some more angrily than others. From what I can tell people are getting more angry now because this new patch is out and for many it has either made problems worse or didn't fix old ones. This is the natural progression of consumer displeasure.

Just like with DriveClub. People were willing to maybe look past it if it was a week or something things weren't working. But then things didn't go a week, it kept going. And going. And going. And we still don't have DC PS+ edition. Shit is ridiculous.

Things aren't there yet with Halo:MCC, but it started out bad, and now we have a new patch and for many people it's just as bad if not worse now.

Anger is a justified response to spending $60 on an unfinished product. Telling people to play other games or its single player is not a solution to that anger.

I got home 30 mins ago, I downloaded the patch but now I've been stuck for the last 10 mins in "Downloading Latest Multiplayer Data" in the multiplayer menu... What's the deal with that?

Also what is the consensus? is MM working now? or should I go play FC4 in my PS4?

Why should they keep it to themselves? I mean they are angry, and have most likely been apart of these threads before the game released. I know you may not like hearing it, but there is no rule against people saying this stuff.

MM is fucked prob until next patch, go FC4

This must be FUD, I heard the single player is just fine, please don't post about this stuff thanks

Single player is fed too, i lost progress in Halo 4 and Halo 2. Also wut

You're implying that I meant anything that I said as everything somehow being the consumer's fault.

No. It's fucking not. And I never implied anything of the sort.

Refund and move on. Voice your displeasure in a reasonable fashion, not like some sophomore in high school.

Maybe, personally, I'm sounding way too nice.

Congrats, I had my Legendary save file disappear completely on mine. My friend had hers disappear as well. Do you want an achievement or something?

I like how it's cool to bicker about the game being broken, but claim it works and get a crap ton of snark thrown at you.

Right here hombre. It's important to know who returns the game and for what reasons. This is a video game forum, that's the kind of monotonous drivel that always goes on here.

That's what happened to me though. How is that FUD?

I was midway through Truth and Reconciliation.

Saved.

Played multiplayer.

Received the patch today.

Went back to single player. Started from the beginning of T&R.

We shouldn't have to tell them what's wrong. That's what they should have paid QA to do. Yes, I'm sure they care enough about getting the game in acceptable condition before it reaches the hands of consume-- oh wait.
