Halo: MCC Multiplayer "1th" patch "fix" live!

Tried Halo 3...got in okay...4v3 though.

Played great.

Trying Halo 2 Classic...have a near full game but we're just sitting and waiting to connect :(

I got into a match in about three minutes and the match ended up being 6v4 and we got destroyed. It was fun for those five minutes.

I haven't touched the MP menu and am not going to bother until everything is 100%.

Same here. I'm sure MS realizes they fucked up big time making 343i hit their release date no matter what and that it's going to cancel out all the price cuts and promises they've made if they don't fix this shit soon.

Is it normal on Halo CE matchmaking to see other players movement a bit awkward? (seems like sometimes theyre sliding on the ground).

Also... In Halo 2, when you press menu. The green bar means good ping?

In Halo CE you slide whenever you are throwing a grenade. It is a normal thing to witness.

No. Campaign is still somewhat functional.

Somewhat indeed.

Stuck in the middle of nowhere.

I can understand the MP being messed up, but the SP? Granted I've only played 3 missions in total with no issues, these aren't straight ports of the games?

Had pretty good success in getting into games solo today. I'd say 7 of the 9 games matched me within 90 seconds. Still getting a lot of 5v4 games though and I am ALWAYS on the 4 team it seems.

Gotta admit, matchmaking feels more reliable than yesterday

343 really needs to put in a check that prevents a game from starting with an odd number of people though

I'm having good luck with the patch so far, but there are still disappointing issues

Finding a game is most playlists has been pretty swift (Halo 3, H2 Anniversary, Team Slayer) while I had trouble with Big Team Battle.

Also, I'm like 7 and 1 for unbalanced teams. First game after the patch I had a balanced match, every one after has been unbalanced. I also think people are getting fed up, since the team with less players is more likely to quit than before. Also, proceeding from finding a match to in-game is still somewhat slow. After I've been matched, the teams are imbalanced, so the game seems to try in vain for a while to find another player, eventually fails, and just enters the match anyways.

You know the game has gone through some quality testing when after every game it says "Match Incomplete".

ON THE BRIGHT SIDE... at least I'm able to find games today!

Funniest part?

Everything Hitler just said, I said to my mate yesterday. 343 will have done irreparable damage to the franchise. Halo 5 will take a HUGE hit from this despite Halo 4 being a stable launch.

I don't think halo 5 will take a hit, especially if it's a good game. It's a year out and the beta is next month, people will still want to play it.

MCC on the other hand........

I wonder what the final patch size will be for disc buyers when all problems they are willing to fix are done. Ouch.

Hope there is some savvy parents out there patching up games before putting the console under the tree for Christmas.

Honestly, this whole thing has just pissed me off. I knew I should have just waited and gone physical. At least then I could have traded it in.

Yea, was told a refund couldn't be processed since 343 is working on it. Was told to wait a week to see if it's fixed, just like last time. I take it in a week when I contact them again, they'll just tell me to wait more. One thing's for sure, not buying a digital game on X1 again.

What could they realistically offer? Is there planned DLC? Would they give MS credit?

No idea, but that's what they told me.

Still going strong playing team slayer (solo). Despite being by myself I'm having so much fun. It's so much better with 60fps in multiplayer, I love it.

Yup, still have team balance issues, but things are going smooth for me. Matchmaking wait times seem normalized for me now. If they only fix the team balance issues, I will be in the money.

Also, I can't believe how fun Halo 1 multi still is.

Yeah, the balance thing is still out of whack, I see some split screeners getting put on opposite team which is pretty silly. But, I'm finding matches much quicker. I love playing the halo 1 stuff, but no one ever seems to vote for it!

Hopefully once everything calms down they can add that playlist.

As I await server upgrade for the MCC I have decided to play through the Reach single player campaign. I know it gets a lot of heat around here, but I rather enjoyed it. In my opinion, "The Long Night of Solace", ranks up well against the best single player missions Halo as a whole delivered. The New Alexandria level, teaming up with the ODSTs? That was incredibly fun.

Although I love Halo:Reach, I must admit the game had its problems. Enemy AI had the unfair advantage of using unbalanced weapons. The game was tough, but when you learn the mechanics it felt like Halo CE on steroids. The game may have had a sub-HD resolution, and a ridiculous bloom and motion blur effect, but it looked beautiful, it had an epic scope, and it ran well.

I salute you Noble Team!

Figured I'd give the game another chance after everyone downloaded the patch. Nearly 10 minutes of searching to land in another lopsided match. Great shit.

343 update. 20 minutes ago.

We wanted to provide you with an update on what we’re seeing as a result of yesterday’s content update (CU). We realize that silence and opacity, even when we have nothing new to say, is frustrating. With each change and/or update we make, it takes time for us to capture and analyze the data to determine the tangible impact to the game experience. Additionally, we've already begun work on future updates which will be informed by the data and community feedback we’re seeing from yesterday’s CU.

Our data shows that the CU improved things statistically, but we are aware that far too many are not seeing improvements. We continue to work on these issues, with our primary focus being on matchmaking performance. Additionally, we also noticed that the CU inadvertently introduced some new UI bugs, which will be fixed shortly.

For now, you will continue to see uneven match-ups and larger than normal team sizes in matchmaking. This is a temporary situation that is caused by the fact that we are allowing more players than normal into a matchmaking session in order to improve overall matching times. We realize this is not ideal, and we will reset those parameters to their expected behavior as soon as our matchmaking improves to a level where players are consistently getting into matches in shorter time frames. Additionally, in yesterday’s patch notes, we announced that parties would no longer be split after a matchmaking session, and we’re aware that this bug has regressed. This issue, along with others, will be addressed in the coming content updates. We’ll be monitoring feedback and data over the weekend, and will provide an update on Monday regarding our progress.

Moving forward, we will continue to post the details of our fixes on Waypoint in order to keep you updated with the latest information. Please keep an eye on this thread (http://aka.ms/mcc_updates) for details as we continue to make updates to the title.
