Well, that's a stupid way to make them better.
But they can't be used online, right?

Correct, they are only for local play, as with equipment-boosted characters.

It's like DBZ training in 9000x gravity or something, though. When you go back to non-cheating level 9 CPUs afterwards, they feel like a relief in comparison.

I did finally realize a key weakness of the level 50 Amiibo Peach's AI, managed to beat it twice, and called it a day for that. Humanity saved for now. =P

Doesn't really sound like an issue then :)

Speaking of local only, you can create custom movesets in this, right? Are those only for local or can you take that online too?

I got the 10 hour challenge which is a surprise to me. 10 hours and I still haven't gotten a feel for a character (although I'm liking R.O.B a lot so far).

Custom moves can be used local or online with friends. Custom moves CANNOT be used in non-friend online modes like For Glory.

And yes after many hours of failing I managed to beat even the level 50, but it's a little sad to see the dream die of an Amiibo I could teach random useless habits like spamming crouch and running away. :P

...I think Doc Louis looked a lot better in the 3DS version. On Wii U, he looks like he just smelled something nasty.

One last note before bed, I finally got the awesome big battlefield music again -- it's Boss Battle 1 music apparently! Very dramatic theme. I love the extra bass sound from the guitars or whatever in some of the Wii U songs.

I honestly think my favorite new feature is the trophy poser thing. It really encourages me to unlock trophies so I can make dumb stuff like this and post it on Miiverse.

On a LED Tv which connection have the lower input lag ? HDMI or Component ?

There is any way to gather some data from both ?
Depends on the TV.

As for gathering data. If you can get the GamePad to mirror the TV image and have a timer increasing on both (don't know if you can do this in SSB, might have to use MK8 instead) take a clear picture using a high speed setting. If the times are:
-Equal. The TV has one frame of lag
-TV less than GamePad. Zero lag, well done.
-TV more than GamePad. Take the difference of the times and add 1/60 of second, that is you lag.

Haul from today!

Played for hours with some friends of mine. Good times. Had a lot of fun. Looking forward to more tomorrow with more people coming over when i'm off taking care of my job in the morning!

All I have are the game pad and Wiimote + Nunchuck.

How playable is the game with either of these two?
I am new to the game and gave the remote and nunchuck scheme a serious try. I found it unusable. The game pad is fine, though.

I wish they remembered my color preference like the 3DS.
Yeah. This is annoying, but I guess the game assumes the same player is always playing on the 3DS. On the Wii U it seems to err on the side of a different player being at the controls each time.

Crazy Orders is infuriating. "How far will you risk going" isn't that fun when you're at risk of dying instantly from the start thanks to random stages/items.

Exploding Capsule spawns on top of me in a horde battle and kills me instantly, giant <insert character> gets a Lightning in the first five seconds and obliterates me, floor falls out from under me while I'm in helpless fall...

zelda is so wonderful and just ah

getting dark pit was hard mostly because of the crappy level that blocks outs everywhere

lol @ zss win animation

dat azz award goes to capt falcon

Doc Louis should be in the background on the Wii U game the whole time, cheering Mac on Pokemon Trainer-style.

Actually, all characters should have that. Tails for Sonic, Aryll for Toon Link, Reyn for Shulk, Korrina for Lucario, etc etc.

I'm curious how much Amiibo actually learns from your play-style, or whether it's just a pre-programmed level grade. I can't imagine the 256 bytes of data stored in the chip actually keeping a record of specific behaviours...

Anyone got any insight or experiences?

Have about 8 hours logged. Still not really comfortable with any character yet. I have only unlocked Falco, Wario, Lucina, and Dark Pit (who was actually pretty tough) so far.

So I just start a race on MK8 and take the TV and gamepad screenshot and see the timer ?

I' ll try later.

So, other than using it as a controller, what other functionality does the 3DS and Wii U versions share?
You can transfer a customized fighter/Mii. That is about it.

Any clue what Dark Pit's unlock conditions are outside Smash matches? He is the only one other than R.O.B. I have left. Flat Zone X I still need to unlock as well, but I think I need Dark Pit.

I put my samus amiibo to play against 7 players in 8 player smash constantly, to level up fast, she would win. But then I realized maybe she's not getting good at 1 v 1 since 8 players is chaos. I put her against Mario cpu lvl 9,she was like 20 I believe And she got 3 stock. She just kept pressing b and using her charger, spamming it, throwing little balls not charged. So I kept putting her against a samus cpu that knew what they were doing, she still lost but 2 games in she was now kicking, changing the blast to max and throwing it at the right time, not spamming it, started using missiles etc and just overall doing what the cpu was doing but better, she was owning

Then I got my new and improved samus amiibo (the copy ninja lol) against Mario again, and sure enough she was using her new moves and 2 stock him

I swear, the game likes to cheat on me in Crazy Orders. I am recovering from a ledge when a sticky bomb spawns in front of me. :(

To unlock R.O.B through Crazy Orders, do I need to do 10 rounds in one play through or can I do like, 5, fight Crazy, then do another 5 round attempt?

Here is my unlock list just for those curious.
Duck Hunt (stage/character) - 1 Cruel Melee kill
Wario - 100 Man Melee completed
Falco - 1 Classic Run
Dr Mario - Master Orders 10 round wins
Lucina - 3 Classic Runs
Game and Watch - 5 Classic Runs
Pac-Land - All Smash Run maps played
Kongo Jungle 64, Pokemon Stadium 2, Smashville - Events

I think
R.O.B. is 200 trophies
like the 3DS version.

The final scoring system in Smash Tour is inherently broken. It solely goes off of KOs.

Example: In the final battle, I had seven characters, P2 had two, P3 and P4 had one each. During the battle, I KO P2 and P3 while P3 eliminates one of P2's characters and P4. So P3 and I both have 2 KOs each. Despite the fact that everybody's characters have been depleted, I am thrown into a sudden death match with P3, which I subsequently lose. P3 is declared the winner of Smash Tour. Uh, did we not just spend 20 turns collecting characters and boosting their stats? How is P3, someone I straight up eliminated in the final battle, the winner over me who had SEVEN characters still in reserve and I didn't get KOd AT ALL in the final battle until sudden death? It feels like the board game aspect is completely pointless if you can just get lucky in the last battle.

How do you unlock all stages?

Pac-Land - play all three Smash Tour maps
Brawl AC stage - clear the Prankster event (the one where you play as Ness and you pitfall two villagers)
64 DK stage - clear the first event match (Mario vs DK and Bowser)
PokeStadium 2 - clear the Lightning Strikes event (you are tiny Pikachu vs 3 giant Pikachus)
Flat Zone X - destroy 100 blocks with Mr Game and Watch in Trophy Rush
Duck Hunt - KO 1 foe in Cruel Smash

I've been getting largely lag-free 4-man smashes from the start. That alone should tell you something.

then again I've been beginning to experience that with the 3DS version this week...

Nice, I've got an Ethernet adapter but Mario Kart online was so good I never saw the need for it
