Elite: Dangerous Standard Beta (Starting Jul 29th - $75)

Cleaner outfitting screen (now has category tabs)

Cleaner keybind screen (now has tooltips for each bind)

Galaxy map now has multiple options when hovering over a system

Game feels much more cohesive now. Running missions for the past few hours in Federation systems has made me friendly with all the Federation Security Service ships. From what I can tell they've completely stopped interdicting me. Makes the systems under their control feel a little friendlier and worth the work.

Edit: I'm now not getting scanned at all at Aulin by either the station or patrol picket. The reputation system might actually make smuggling a breeze. - Incorrect, being scanned as usual now.

Edit 2: Never have I seen so many people at one station.

All looks and sounds great, is it quite a stable build? I was reading about quite a few bugs and saw a number of them when someone was live streaming on twitch last night. The thing that bugs me most about what I watched was the 10 seconds of loading just to exit supercruise. Wish it could be more seamless.

Are the missions more interesting?

Does anyone else see a NPCs and players do a lot of "jumping around" by stations in Open Play? I know it's P2P, but if I go to say, a resource extraction site with the same amount of players, there's none of that "jumping around" lag, it's only ever around stations. I thought maybe it's my ISP shaping/throttling P2P traffic but that can't be it since in other places in the game with the same amount of players it's fine.

I rarely see that, so i just assumed it's the other player having a bad connection to the server.

If you're seeing it on NPCs it's probably your connection.

All the new stuff looks great. I just don't understand a 2 day period in between wipes for last beta/gamma. I haven't played it in a few weeks, as I didn't want to burn myself out at all.

I got my ED Tracker in yesterday, so I'm really looking forward to seeing how all of that pans out.

Looking forward to tomorrow.

Basically dont grind, just test the mechanics, shoot everyone, ram into peoples, test stations, hyperspace, etc. Just have fun

You posted exactly what I was going to post.

I'm so excited. I'm so fucking excited. A little bit scared, even.

Seriously, this is going to be torture, since i have so many fucking homeworks and projects before the finals :( Gonna be shaolin monk level of patience to resist playing all day.

So who has access to Gamma? I thought it was everyone who backed it for enough to get a copy of the game?

Information has been spotty on exactly who gets gamma access, but from what I can tell only kickstarters and beta buyers get gamma access. Mercenary Edition owners still have to wait until December 16th.

Hmm I backed it on kickstarter at a level that gets me the game. Is there a link to download the client anywhere? I'd like to try signing in.

The starter pack option isn't working for me at all even though I backed the original Kickstarter. I only see an option for the base package.

It did remember my chosen commander name, though.

And that awful microstutter that appears every ~5 seconds is still there in the gamma. Still no response on the ticket I opened about it a few months ago. Neat.

With or without DK2. Even at rock bottom graphics settings and 1280x800, I go from a perfect 60 FPS to a ~30 FPS stutter every five to ten seconds. Really distracting.

I even reformatted my system two weeks ago to try to get rid of it but it's still there. Happens with two separate video cards as well.

Aww man, i paid 120 euros and i still got only a pack that has a Sidewinder :( But someone who kickstarted for less gets a pack with a better ship. (i did not kickstart)

Retrieved my eagle, was actually in the same system i spawned originally, but i had already travelled 4 systems before realizing i had it. Suicide, spawn back to original point, voila :p

Man, i really cant figure how i'll ever get to sol, they really have to implement a travel route planner where we dont have to recheck the galaxy map every jump, there's just soooo many stars its insane.

Eh? premium beta? You get an eagle too, its not selectable in the starting packs, but you have to look which station has it.

Btw, anyone knows if, much like the sidewinder, if we lose the eagle we get one back for free??

Enter a station with a shipyard. Once in that menu you'll see stored ships and it'll tell you where it is.

I might add, the stored ship location only gives the system location, i happened to be in LTT 15449 which has about half a dozen stations :p In system map you'll see a little sidewinder green icon above the station's name, thats where you have to go :)
