Should be interesting. The worse parts with Laurel are when they have her doing nothing. The times where she's actively the focus though she's fine. The problem is when they waste the character and just have her there. That's when the hate for her strongly comes out I think. It was the same with Thea and Roy. Once they started getting focused on they improved.
They are also going have to justify Laurel as the Black Canary. Show why people should accept her. I like to think the writers know full well people don't like her at times after two full seasons. They've had to have heard the criticism before getting ready for season 3. I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and go into these episodes with an open mind and allow them to sell me on the this.
Because she's a terrible actress and Sara was the best.
She could effectively make the whole show bad given enough screen time.
Last episode was the best of the season by a country mile, despite the DJ. Part of that was a lack of Laurel.

Katie Cassidy is a good actor. I've seen her work before, and she has done good work on Arrow. But she's given such thankless and shit writing, it doesn't make much of a difference.
I really hope the Arrow writers got their shit together for this one.

Not better if you compare the first 7 only. They are setting up some big things though.

I wouldn't say that he's far worse than Laurel has ever been. The fact that he didn't kill Sara after all was a shocking twist and no one saw that coming. I'm sure it kept us all on the edge until it was finally revealed.

I think Black Canary could be really cool if they make her fighting style distinct and based on boxing. So far, almost every fighter has been indirectly trained by the League of Assassins and relies on projectiles and flashy movement.
Laurel should be no-nonsense: dodge, punch, punch, uppercut,launch, air combo.
