Anxiously awaiting my hourly reminder that black people ain't shit.
If someone sets half of my house on fire I am not going to protest the injustice of it all by angrily getting out some gasoline and lighting the other half ablaze. Addressing a problem by actively making it worse is not a solution. As upset as I am by police corruption and inequality in America in general, I'm a touch more frustrated when black people behave in ways that perpetuate the cycle while completely neglecting the actual systems in place that could affect a change.Looting! Rioting! I hope the same people are more concerned about the killing of American civilians by its own police force. But by all means, advocate peace and voting for one side while the other is free to kill without consequence.
And when things get bad, the side doing all the killing gets backed up by the national guard. Seems fair.
So it looks like all the schools and many businesses will be closed tomorrow. I understand it and it ultimately is the safe thing to do, but it feels wrong to just assume the worst and cower in fear like this.

It's self defeating.
So I was listening to the union leader for the police department this morning. He said if there is no indictment he expects Wilson to be back on the Ferguson force. Like how that will work? lol
If he's not indicated I wonder how long he'll have to stay in hiding?

I'm gonna laugh so hard when there's no riots and the media is all disappointed.
Yes, they do exist because of voting. You vote (or don't vote at all) for people who encourage and support this horrible, corrupt and criminal behavior and guess what, that's what you get, corrupt, criminals running around as cops and politicians. You act as if these practices are made in a vacuum and they aren't.
If we as a society in the US would collectively put our foot down against people like Bob McCulloch and Jay Nixon then maybe we could have people in the position to actually hire cops who aren't sociopaths or at the very least, gun crazy. And then cops wouldn't need cameras strapped to their bodies.
I'm gonna laugh so hard when there's no riots and the media is all disappointed.
We know that being on the right side of justice doesn't guarantee victory. But we also know that silence is pre-emptive defeat. #Ferguson

Yea it's pretty ridiculous how fear affects people. I drove past a grocery store earlier (work let us out at 3pm). The place looked like the day before thanksgiving a packed parking lot. Businesses boarded up that are nowhere near where a single protest has occurred. The protests that occurred last night are about 6 blocks from me. They're marching down the street and people posting on my neighborhood facebook page say "too close to home" or "I'm worried". They blocked traffic for 15 minutes. Grow up and let them protest
Last nights protest in my neighborhood (south STL) had a decent minority of white people part of the protests. So it could happen lol
I think the only funny thing about this would be if white people started to riot. Just to throw everyone off and confuse all.

So I guess it wont be announced until 9pm eastern time.
In Missouri, once the sentence is served, so is the right to vote:
http://www.moep.uscourts.gov/restoration-rights
I agree with those points, however total turnout in 2013 was 12 percent, that is putrid.
Here are the voting stats for April 2013:

Look at that! Look how close these votes were!

Pushing it back? Why?
I don't like the term "outraged." But yes, I am more frustrated when some black people perpetuate the problem via violent protests instead of trying to address it via avenues that would work if they were actually utilized. Also, ZuhZuhzombie, let me say I also dislike how you've framed your post ("the people") as if the potential rioters in Ferguson speak for every African American in this country. So you're outraged by police corruption, but you're even more outraged by how the people that suffer that corruption react while dealing with it?
Not sure, but that's what is being reported.
That is a problem, I agree, but not an insurmountable one. Rioting is not a solution, regardless. The system in place is part of the problem. It's racially biased at its core.
This just tells me he's getting off.
If the rioting is directed at government buildings and not businesses or homes, I'd completely understand.
I mean do people really expect a different outcome at this point?

Which doesn't happen.
When the riots first started here, they were burning gas stations and stealing rims from auto shops. Tell me how that helps anything.

I imagine your condemnation would find its way to the surface, Moris, if a rioter burned down your house and/or someone you loved died at the hands of a violent protester. We fundamentally disagree then. It's not something I'd encourage nor condemn, but I do understand.
Oh boy, I worry about those in Ferguson tonight.
Looks like the decision is scheduled for 8 pm CST:
