P4U2 and UNIEL are pretty different games so the overlap isn't going to be that great.

Hmmmmm. I'd definitely like to hear Ricky's reasoning.

To me, sure Ken has good walkspeed and normals, but he just doesn't scare that much. You apply pressure and footsies and watch out for step kicks and kara throws. :

Then again, I'm the madman who uses U2 vs many of the fireball-users in the cast.

Divekick doesn't work as well on ken from afar. He can anti air rufus well with Kara dp from afar and cr hp xx fireball up close, which is easy if you know the range. If they try to bait the dp with a shallow dive, ken can just trip guard with sweep. You don't really need step kick or cr mk.

Pretty much, it boils down to it's really hard for rufus to get in and once ken knocks rufus down his mixup is really strong. It was ever worse pre ultra since shoto cr lk went under messiah so you got free pressure.

Not many Kens know the matchup that well, so you don't see this that much. Ricky lost to Chris last tournament, which is why she used Poison against Integra last weekend at Absolute Battle. Justin got caught sleeping, he's gonna have to do his homework if he wants to beat Chris next time.

Uniel coming in at 2nd just means that Marvel players are too lazy to pre-reg. There will still be a ton of players signing up at the door and I expect Marvel to still have the second most entrants because of crossover. Plus Uniel hasn't dethroned Marvel from its spot on finals day, so having the second most pre-reg numbers now doesn't mean much to me.

The real surprises are the pre-regs for P4U2 and BB. I also don't see Tekken or DOA on the list either.

It's not text -- it's the character voices. Online, you hear the language selected for your character and the language the other player has selected for their character, so it's possible to have one character in Japanese and the other in English. Every ArcSys game online has worked this way, to my knowledge.

A console exclusive fighter is a pretty huge barrier of entry for most people. When you can currently play any of the top fighting games on last generation systems there isn't a huge reason for the average player to upgrade. Even more so if all you really care about is the fighting game genre.

GGXrd isn't even a current gen requirement. It's going to take a non cross gen fighter on the level of Street Fighter to pull in more of the FGC I'd think.

It sounds like they just ported the old trials to the Ultra versions of characters and then only updated the ones that were completely broken. I was hoping they would make the mode emphasize more practical combos. :\

Honda is not a turtle, he is a Kappa, a creature from Japanese folklore. You can tell by the hairless circle on top of Honda's head (it is supposed to be the source of a Kappa's power).
