Just a quick question for anybody who knows. How long did it take for the issues with BF4 and Driveclub get ironed out?
Why all the Reach bashing?
The Multiplayer was fun and the arena was a fairly solid ranked battleground
The story was great too. You guys just love hating don't you.

Even the goddamn Destiny ALPHA was a thousand times smoother than this, nevermind the Beta. I don't know how 343i allowed themselves to be less functional with their gold release on a single platform.Every single game that seems to have launch issues always has a statement that says they couldn't detect anything in there internal testing....well no shit.
Until companies start doing beta tests earlier like Destiny did (which btw was a pretty damn smooth launch to me for a game requiring an online connecting) to see real world problems sooner than later, this shit is going to keep happening over and over.
Hell the crews 2nd public beta outside of personal opinions of the game itself ran pretty damn good for an online open world racer.
Kind of both. You can usually find one match fairly smoothly the first time you start up yelour system, after that its a crap shoot taking from 10minutes to an hour to connect.I'm not sure I quite understand what's going on. Are the matchmaking issues preventing people from playing online, or just fucking up the online experience once you're in a game?
Either way, sucks for you Halo fans. I know I was bummed when Battlefield 4 launched with all sorts of bugs (and waiting for weeks to get fixes was shit). Between this and DriveClub, there have got to be a lot of (rightfully) angry gamers out there right now.

Frequently the game will place uneven teams or crash other players to he home screen while loading or crash at the end of a match.
Matchmaking can either take 10 seconds or over an hour, half of the hoppers were removed to raise user counts in the ones left active, being matched up doesn't mean you will get a match, it will be lob sided teams, the game has a habbit of crashing while loading a MP map, countless problems.
Before last weeks patch the host could kick users in matchmade ranked games from the scoreboard.
This is just the MP side of things, for the single player checkpoint saves are broken in halo 1 and 2, co-op online is sub 30fps for the connecting partner, halo 2 anniversary co-op can desync badly, sometimes the sound will disappear for up to a minute before magically returning again, pausing the game can sometimes softlock because it disables menu inputs, watching a terminal video loads up the halo channel app external to the game itself causing problems or not working.
There's more but that's the rough idea of what's wrong.

BF4 didn't have issues with basic functionality such as joining games, finding servers, etc. It only had performance issues. This is from my experience.
MCC is an entirely different story. You can't even find a game.
Idiots, perhaps. Reach had the best single player campaign of the series.

It sure was.

Oh hey look! A NeoGAF thread that derailed into bashing Halo Reach... again!
Halo 4 was the beginning of the end. 343's involvement was the downfall of Halo, not Reach, let's get that straight.
I've stated since early this year that both Halo 5, and anything else 343 touches would not have the same quality as the previous entries, and Stinkles laughed.
Well, I'm sure things are pretty humble over at 343i right now.
Halo is dead. Long live new IP's and let's stop beating a dead franchise.

It might have, had they used "The Fall of Reach" (the book) for the story. As it stands Halo CE, 2 (despite the ending), 3, and ODST have a better story than Reach. Reach just had some decent characters.

Your experience differs from mine and probably most others. There were no 64 player matches to be found on BF4 at launch. I also had difficulties getting matches, and the single player kept erasing any saved progress, so it was pointless to do. It was a huge mess, and a game I also should've returned at the time.
You're deluded to the point where I question your mental state if you truly believe that the decline began with 4.

It's nice to see that they are owning up to the problems and doing what they can to fix them, but I fear that by the time all this is sorted out people will have moved on, not to mention that this experience will undoubtedly sour the expectations of Halo 5.
ew.
CE and 3's campaigns are so much more entertaining
You're right. It started when 343 messed up the playlists and did the Title Update to Halo Reach matchmaking.
Thanks for clarifying.
Btw I'm not suggesting that Halo 4 didn't suffer from any mis-steps. Its just that you're already prematurely raising issues with some tiny changes we have seen in Halo. This is why 343 face such a herculean task with the Halo games. On the one hand you have a segment of the fanbase that are stuck in their ways and want a very conservative upgrade from the games that came before and on the other they have this pressure to actually develop and evolve the franchise and keep it up to date.
CE's back half is a slog, sorry
Reach was consistenly good to great
They cant get the 4 games to work, you want another 2?I hope they make this right by adding reach and odst as downloads for free...that would go a long way![]()

I don't agree with your assessment of BF4 state at launch. Between all of the crashing, horrible rubber banding, net code issues, server issues, and gameplay bugs it was almost unplayable for a lot of p people for months. Lots of people considered it broken until the last CTE patch was pushed out, although I personally don't agree with that last statement. The ability to save a single player game is still broken, but I honestly don't care about that.BF4 didn't have issues with basic functionality such as joining games, finding servers, etc. It only had performance issues. Hasn't been answered by anyone yet... asking again.
