TitanFall PC - $5

I've never had any issues finding a game ever. Always a game I can pick up and jump in to right away. Not sure what servers everyone else is using that are saying they've had issues but I've never had to wait to join or start matches.

In fact, Titanfall on PC is a game that I've barely had any issues with at all. Easily my favourite FPS of the year and I have a lot of fun playing it.

I just wish the map packs were free, but can't win them all. Can't recommend this game enough for $5 if you like shooters.

Matchmaking tries to match DLC owners with other DLC owners, but it'll still prioritize getting a full lobby over substantially longer wait times. If not everyone in the match owns a DLC pack, the maps just won't show up in the rotation.

In my personal experience, getting the season pass did not affect the number of matches or the wait times at all, and the DLC maps show up all the time in normal play.

Oh, ok. That would work to my advantage.

1 dollar is my price tag

My mouse pointer hovered over the "Add to Cart" button for close to a minute as I imagined myself playing it once and never touching it again. Plus just refreshed my OS install and trying not to install EA Origin.

Man what kills it for me is there is no single player and the game is 50 gigs or more. Even at 5 bucks can't get over it.

Most of that space is for uncompressed audio, which is easier on the CPU to allow gamers with weaker configs to still be able to play unhindered.

And yeah there's no single-player, but it's not a single-player kind of game.

Why are you so intent on turning people away from the game?

Did a titan fall on your puppy or something? Good lord, give it a rest.

Uh, he's telling the truth, dude. By the numbers TF is barely clinging to life on PC. I enjoyed TF on PC, but I'll be buying it again for X1 because of the lack of PC community.

I'm playing the 48 hours trial now, just finished training and my first ever match.
From what little I've played, it seems like a really solid game, but nothing ground breaking as some were expecting it to be.

Controls (wall running, jumping etc...) feel really great and so does the shooting, the Titans seem to be balanced and it felt like 60 FPS on the highest setting (without AA) on my GTX 970

The only weird thing is the map I was playing around was relatively small and had buildings in it, but didn't make any use of the wall running/double jump

It told me there were 900+ players in my region and 1100+ for the entire world from the first mod and all the rest are small numbers

Care to share these numbers with the class?

EDIT 2:17pm: Still waiting for those numbers...

People have been hating on this game since...it seems like forever. Game is alive and well. Just because it's dead to you doesn't mean it's dead. If I didn't already have it on X1, I would have definitely bought it for PC. $5 is crazy steal. My coworker bought it recently on PC and never had any problems finding a game.

Most go off the numbers listed in the lobbies. You'll average 1000 across all modes, some of which show ZERO active players during peak hours, including however many people who are playing using the free trial. As far as I know, official numbers haven't been released.

But keep

for this garbage though.

So basically everyone who claims no one plays Titanfall anymore, and that it is dead, is going off purely anecdotal figures.

Gotcha.

Won't a $5 sale for a well reviewed recent game create an influx of players?

You'll see an influx of gen 1's sure, same when the free trials started. Most of them don't stay.

Again since there's no official numbers released, people who actually play the game can see the numbers on the lobby. Are those just placeholders and there's actually 1 million PC players on the servers?

The proof is in the bomba pricing.

You will have no problem finding an attrition game, but probably will for other game types

Fantastic game for $5, just a steal.

Gotta remember the other part of the cost: a completely unjustified 50GB download.

It's not a 50GB download... It's 50GB after the game files are done decompressing.

Geez, no room for truth in this thread eh?

Fair enough. The install size is a bigger concern for me, though, since I only run on SSDs.

I don't care what got them there, but an arena shooter with no campaign should simply not be this big.
