Am i the only one not too hyped for ff7 remake? I mean, its cool and all, but its an old game in the end that has been played by many. I would rather a new game.

People got too excited at the mention of a Final Fantasy VII remake, and that's all they are talking about now.

I'm a HUGE Final Fantasy VII fan, but even I know to keep my expectations in check. I'm sure the remake is coming at some point, but people now believe it will be announced shortly. That won't happen.

Verendus and another insider have claimed that the remake is in development. Verendus stated that the game is in "VERY early stages", and that it won't be shown any time soon. Another insider also claimed that the remake is in development.

But now people are thinking we are close to an announcement, and that it may be teased at the PlayStation Experience event, which is crazy and stupid.

Just redraw the 2D art in HD and update the models and redo the CG. Have a option to switch between classic FF7 and FF7 HD if possible.

Do not change the gameplay, Do not go adding VO, Do not go adding extra content.

I do not what to see current Square Enix try and retell that story with their current design philosophies. Just give me that game cleaned up. Then do the same with 8 and 9.


Or maybe the RE remake would be another example of keeping the core of the classic game while tweaking a few things. But that would be as far as I would go.

Truth be told, I am not hyped. If the previous hype threads have proved anything, we always set our expectations too damn high.

What do you call playing modern because FFXIII was ATB so it rather easy to bring the battle system up to date .
Same with all the other gameplay mechanics for eg mixing Materia etc etc etc .

Funny thing is, even though FFVII is in my Top 3 all-time, I already explained a few times that I don't really want the remake for the game itself, for all the reasons that many already mentioned (charm/quirkiness wouldn't translate well, too wonky script for modern sensibilities, etc.), but rather for the hype and the aftermath of the announcement :D

Honestly, as long as CyberConnect2 to is making a JRPG I'll be happy. FF7 or not.

I don't think there's any way any of us can avoid the leak unless we stay away from any game related sites for a week. Are you telling us that it's about to leak? If so I would like to know I may want to stay away and be completely surprised.
