Gematsu: Sony to hold Playstation Experience event in December

I don't even know why people want a FF7 remake so bad. You think modern SE will do it justice?

I occasionally wonder how many of the people clamoring for this remake actually played and/or liked the original game. I think it would be great to see a remake with the Gooch, Uematsu, and Masato Kato involved. But I think realistically it would be Kitase putting his name on it and letting Nojima run wild with Genesis and whatever shitbrew he has in mind.

Its probably not really true, but I like to believe everything bad about all the Compilation of FF7 stuff came straight from Nojima.

Rather not have an FF7 remake if it's not going to be on par with mainline FF's, budget wise I mean. Seems like Kagari is inferring it's gonna be a shit port.

Jesus Christ, people have actually convinced themselves that FFVII is all but confirmed?

I am not talking about him producing i am talking about him directing .
He has direct some awesomes game FF7 , FF8 , co direct FF10 , Chrono Trigger .
He sucks as a producer but maybe he need to go back into the directors chair .

The roles are so close to one another I would advise against that. Folks on this very board who've talked to Kitase will testify to him coming off as jaded during this past console generation. They have before and even if they hadn't, the FFXIII games reflect that. Toriyama would be reporting to him as director and he would be supporting Toriyama as producer. Kitase was there, but none of that insight he has helped FFXIII once. Not in any way tangible to me.

Wait, already thinking FFVII is confirmed? Isn't that...jumping the gun quite a bit?

Also, you should remember how the game Square will announce next month is NOT a remake (it could be a new IP /a revival, though). Did you already forget that?

I never said it was confirmed. I also never said Square was doing it. I'm just saying CyberConnect2 seems to be pointing a lot of hints. They COULD be the people doing it... I have always just been speculating. I have previously noted that as well. You should fully read my post.

Again, in any case, I personally wouldn't care if it wasn't announced or not. I just want to see an RPG from CyberConnect2 and not yet another Naruto game.......

Shahids a cool guy but his "hype" tweets should be taken lightly. They're usually not as much of a megaton as people hope they are.

Yup and I'm mostly taking his tweets as the event is gonna be awesome for those attending with cool things to see and do, not that there will be reveals left and right.

People are going to be so let down after this event. I don't expect much at all, myself.

Did Sony even say if they are streaming the opening keynote?

I think any announcements out of this is going to be a small part of this event. Since it's mainly about playing games and the panels too.

Didn't a Sony rep say they are revealing things at this event that (paraphrasing) "they probably shouldn't at this time" or something along those lines?
If a FFVII remake is into development & being co-developed by Sony (massive 'if') wouldn't Sony control when it is announced over S-E?

They could drop a reveal & a teaser and I don't think that would infringe upon FFXV at all. XV is a multi-plat with a ton of hype. VII could be an exclusive and would obviously not release within the same timeframe as XV.

Man... this is ridiculous. I've let the GAF hype train over-run my basic common sense into believing a FFVII Remake could possibly be announced soon. :/

There's definitely going to be one or two things worthy of E3 showcase at the very least. They've set themselves up for quite the backlash if not.

They did say they are streaming the event. Seems reasonable to expect the keynote is streamed at the very least.

Good that you aren't expecting much at all. Boring. But good :P

By this time next week, people will have convinced themselves the rapture will occur midway through the conference.

At the rate this thread is going, a lot of people are going to be sad pandas if FFVII and Shenmue 3 aren't announced at PSX for a release next fall just after Sony surprises everyone by making TLG available for download the day of the show.
I have absolutely no expectations beyond what's been announced. I'm hyped for the chance to see if ND have managed to make U4 look like the E3 trailer and if RaD can come good and give us an exciting showing of The Order. Beyond that, I'm excited to see more of No Man's Sky and anxious about Bloodborne (I'm on a blackout and hope I have the willpower to avoid footage).
The surprise announcements will be there, of course, but I won't get my hopes up as to what they are. There's a decent chance that they won't interest me, so I'd rather not speculate. I don't want my opinion of what is already an excellent show to be ruined by having expectations that may never be met.

if this was an exclusive then I can see the reason behind Tomb Raider going to XB1 at last years E3. I still don't know what to make of this speculation though, hype events usually end up with disappointment but there is a precedent with Bloodborn.

People should be excited about the things they already announced instead of creating these unbelievably high expectations.

Its understandable though, with these "insiders" throwing incredibly dull teasers that will lead nowhere every second and shooting the hype to these insane levels... You guys can't complain if you see a thousand threads saying how underwhelming this was afterwards.

Tomb raider announcement only happened a few months ago.

WARNING

For those wanting to be surprised for the event I advise you to stay away from GAF and the internet. I can smell the storm in the air. One bomb goes off and there will be a chain reaction. People will burn. STAY AWAY. Go. There's a storm coming.
Either drop the fkn bomb, or stop teasing because now you're taking it too far, and it's annoying.

It would be cool if Sony announced some big time 3rd party exclusives. It hurts my soul that a FF7 remake might actually happen, but no Shenmue 3 in sight.

FF7 multiplatform would be a pretty underwhelming "megaton".

Is that really considered teasing? I think he's just warning us that he thinks it will leak soon, that's all.

With people talking about Final Fantasy VII, saying that storm is coming and expecting people to NOT relate that to Cloud is a bit naive to say the least. Its annoying. Can't be that hard just to keep it to yourself.

This will end well...

Come on people, if they are working on FF VII remake (and I believe they are) it probably won't come out in the next 3 or 4 years, it's unlikely they will announce it this early. Keep calm.
