Am I the only one not feeling Kuvira as a villain? The show is trying to paint her like she's Hitler, but everytime a character goes "Kuvira did this" or "Kuvira is doing that" I just say "Ok" and shrug my shoulders. I'm just not seeing it.
Concentrations camps are pretty evil. Trying to kill your subordinates is very evil. Beating up the main character is uber evil.Am I the only one not feeling Kuvira as a villain? That scene where Zaheer helps Korra reminded me of how those TV/DVD repair folk would interact with their customer.
Zaheer: Yep, you're pretty busted.
Korra: Can you fix it?
Zaheer: Here's your problem, you're not letting your traumatic hallucination play out.
Korra: Huh?
Zaheer: All you need to is let it play out in full.
Korra: That simple?
Zaheer: That simple.
Korra: Wow, thanks Zaheer. Out of everyone who helped me, you were the most supportive, understanding, and helpful.
I'll be surprised if we all manage to stick around for the finale."Did you turn the avatar state on and off?"
"Did you install the recent raava driver?"
"Did you plug in the avatar connection correctly?"
I would have loved him saying, "You know this prison can't hold me forever."I didn't mind Zaheer helping. After all, it was never personal between him and her, and his goal is to remove world leaders, especially bad ones. That's what Kuvira is, so it's in his interest to help. I wish we had gotten a line along the lines of him pointing out to Korra that one day he will go after her again, but other than that, it's within his character.
I interpret it as Future Industries developing everything, and Asami is simply the face.
I set my expectations at season 3, which was good. I expected decent storytelling, but everything is hamfisted and surface level or just a waste. Why did Kai get so much screen time and undercut Jinora's development to not be in season 4 virtually at all?
as a matter of fact, treat this show more like Panty & Stocking or Kill la Kill. like god none of this makes any fucking sense but lawd is it pretty.

this is somewhere among "opal shouldn't even be mad! her mom attacked the psychotic dictator that was trying to take over their city! SUYIN COMMITED A WARCRIME!"
But Kill La Kill had fun ass characters. Satsuki shits on the entire Korra cast.
Episode was alright. All I have to say.
what was the point of a 3 year timeskip when none of them grew up.
I laughed at those reactions

Zaheer is such a boss man, holy shit...
Guy is bounded, and was even more spiritual than the Avatar. In the end he even managed to guide her through her fears and get her back in the game. We talking Iroh level of guidance right now fellas.
I laughed at those reactions

I don't get why they didn't bother to show itThe problem with the reeducation camps is they did a cardinal sin of storytelling, the told us instead of showing us, so it all rings hollow. Even worse was the Bender Separation angle, which got a sentence of mention and then never mentioned again. I am being told shit without much backing it up.
Yes, a man obviously needs permits to blow up a building in a city area, due the danger of bystanders. Also he did it in the middle of the night which is disturbance of the peace.was he wrong
How fucked up is it that not even your own brother is fucking happy to see you after nobody knew where you were. Sure they hugged twice afterwards.I laughed at those reactions

Should've just stuck with Korra in that case. How fucked up is it that not even your own brother is fucking happy to see you after nobody knew where you were. Sure they hugged twice afterwards.
And let's not even get into Opal. If after the rescud mission attempt she still is on Bolin's ass then quit it Bolin. This is your year. Get a new girl who doesn't hold a grudge that nobody else seems to hold.

Everyone should just learn that floating thing like Zahir
Even in the avatar state korra can't do it, for shame
The above used to mean being able to enter the avatar state at will. But then writers. That requires releasing everything that you've ever cared about, eliminating the possibility of any ship involving Korra. They'd never stand for it.
But then she'd be her own ship
The Opal shit is definitely annoying. I feel torn. Honestly, I kind of figured they would shrug it all off and Opal would forgive and forget. I just figured the show didn't have enough time left to flesh out that plot, and it just wasn't something they would do. But they have. Opal is mad at Bolin, and not able to forgive him.
I'm not against it in concept. But really, its' like...they haven't really done enough with this couple to make me care about them. I care about Bolin (I guess), so it's kind of annoying to have him go through all that shit, come back...and then have a lot of people hate him being back. Like uh..okay.
Logically, makes sense. Don't really know if the characters are like fleshed out enough for me to...play this plot off in a way I care or find enjoyable.
The issue is that the writers make Bolin into a complete idiot who can't form a fucking sentence together for the sake of convenient drama. If they had written him like a regular human being when Opal was giving him shit during the picnic he could have easily said something likeThe Opal shit is definitely annoying. I feel torn. Korra would have been such an interesting avatar if it was Red Lotus vs White Lotus thing for season 1... Korra being the Red Lotus avatar who sees the light of things and starts to path of redemption.
Then end the series with Amon trying bring equality due to terrible nature of Korra.
Korra the Fallen Hero goes against her mentor and defeats Red Lotus from within...
Seriously, all 4 season's have been terrible in terms of writing.
Season 3 > Season 1 (minus the rushed ending) > Season 4 (so far, too slow paced) > Season 2
After seeing how crazy these Bei Fong women are is it even worth getting back together with Opal? The issue is that the writers make Bolin into a complete idiot who can't form a fucking sentence together for the sake of convenient drama. If they had written him like a regular human being when Opal was giving him shit during the picnic he could have easily said something like
"Listen. I didn't know. I genuinely didn't know she was psycho. Neither did Varric nor Zhu Li. We tried escaping when we realized it. I saw us doing so much good out there I wanted to pretend that what you were saying wasn't real since nobody else seemed to think so outside of your family. I fucked up. I am here asking for your forgiveness and I know I'll have to earn your trust again and I am prepared to do that. But don't blame me for your family getting captured."
Instead he just barfs bad jokes. When she's about to leave he managed to say something decent. But Opal is clearly holding contempt for Kuvira and everybody else who isn't helping her family and taking it out on Bolin. Poor Bolin.
I wonder how zaheers levitation thing works. Like, we got an explanation for the other sub bending abilities, but all we're told is zaheer let's go of his earthly tether. OK, but what does that actually do?
