Everyone in here wishing for Final Fantasy meanwhile i have never played more than 10 minutes of any FF game.

Aye. While I'm hyped for this event, you'll see me hop aboard a Ninty hype thread like no other. It's always interesting to see what they announce.
That could change if Sony has more Japanese games to show off though... just sayin'. (They're actually starting to do this it seems so it's already a good start. They just need to release now!)
Between Sony's own IPs and their 3rd party history, the other two can't really compare to the discussion and speculation that can arise.
Nintendo yes, MS not really. MS just doesn't have the legacy yet to rouse this much discussion.

I think Sony are unique in this aspect. MS only really has Halo and Nintendo use mostly all of their IPs still. Sony have SO many amazing IP just collecting dust, so every time something like this comes around - a press conference or whatever - there's huge speculation.
Nintendo is getting a lot of hype aswell. MS just doesn't really have the history/nostalgia for me. (don't even remember what the first game on my OG xbox was)

They have to be doing some kind of 20 year anniversary sale on PSN over the weekend, right? This event would also be the perfect place to finally announce PS/PS2 backwards compatibility for the PS4, drop the firmware to support it, and then put a ton of classic games on sale. Never going to happen, but I can dream.

Great poem. Seriously. I actually have been trying to keep an open mind with Western games because I normally don't enjoy them. Gave Lords of the Fallen a Try and Dragon Age Inquisition but I don't know... I still don't get the same enjoyment as I do from a Japanese game. Even after playing them through the whole way (well, Lords of the Fallen I'm done with... still sluggishly trying to beat DAI). I tried, buddy... I really did.

Because they are so far out there that it just won't happen. One or two might make an appearance, but I think a lot of people are getting way over their heads.
Boyes poem looked a little like an attempt to temper expectations. They will show some new gameplay and reveal a thing or two, but don't get too crazy.

The difference I see with Nintendo Directs is the fact that they are actually very direct with their news. I know we get Nintendo discussions after said events but I do not believe get such huge discussions before said events. Hell, have we had a Nintendo or MS game hyped up as much as Bloodborne was before it was revealed?

If there were any significant announcements to make then this whole event would have taken place in mid November not 2 weeks before Christmas. Your likely going to see games previously announced and perhaps some long awaited features being added if we are lucky.
Yes, so the E3 reveal was dull, made even duller by the fact it was CG. It was Sony's fault it leaked, and it was Sony's fault they chose to debut it with CG.
I bet there are some megatons.
I really don't see any reason to temper expectations at this point.
