The Game Awards 2014 Thread: Keighley unveils, less McHales

This is such an upgrade from CODs fish running away from player, wow now horses dont hit the tress anymore, revolution in gaming.

I'm shocked they actually showed off Zelda U at this, but it was worth it. I do admit it might look a bit rough, but still looks awesome to me. Especially when Link was riding Epona. Cannot wait to explore that world!

I feel all the games shake it up in one way or another, and they always feel very different which is why I love the series. But yeah, nice to see that they are doing it again!

Wii-U Zelda is looking drastically different though, in ways I wouldn't imagine for a Zelda title.

It's hilarious how casual Nintendo showing Zelda was. Like "oh yeah this is our most important game in 2015 let's talk about random stuff and let's namedrop two other huge games while we're at it". And they didn't even show the tower!

Zelda looked pretty good for a Wii U title, which I'm proud to say that I own. PC for lyphe and all, but I've owned every Nintendo console since N64. The point is that while you are all raging against the big N's mistepps, I'll be playing Zelda in 2015.

honestly Zelda didnt look very interesting. seen those gameplay mechanics before and the visuals didn't look special at all, boring forest with a few normal looking trees here and there. whole thing gave me Twilight Princess vibes which is one of the most boring games i've ever tried to play (started and quit about 3-4 times).

would've loved to see Star Fox instead :/

Lol people actually rather see a bullshit trailer then raw gameplay? Damn

The gameplay they showed (or at least, THE WAY they showed it) was pretty damn dull. So yes a trailer would have been better.

Also the game looks good despite that, but it also looks very unfinished. They better not rush the game. :(

Revealing the actual game that people play in their homes instead of fucking bullshit CG trailers like everyone else?

He means not showing us the gameplay, having it all off screen footage and not direct feed. That is pretty stupid when you're trying to show off the views and beauty and scale.

Alright Geoff did good this year. Lots of haters but hopefully this is a net positive for the Game Awards. Focused on the games and not bullshit comedy antics.

Really like how Nintendo shows gameplay and not only cgi as so many others. Even when the gameplay isnt that interesting as with Zelda here, that is still way better than just boring cinematic stuff.

Showing gameplay instead of stringed together cgi trailers? How dare they!

Showing the most boring gameplay possible in off screen presentation, with all the style of a Japanese variety show segment minus anything that makes it interesting? Yeah.... They could have easily cut together another Twilight Princess trailer of in game footage, new music, etc, and had a true megaton.

But no, Nintendo gonna Nintendo, and be horrible at presenting their product.

Zelda looked empty, had the same three trees repeated again and again, bad textures.

They are pushing hey look its a big world and you can ride a horse, as though such features are remotely new or impressive.

And Star Fox tech demo will be a full game released before Zelda?

Sounds shockingly sloppy and unpolished for Nintendo titles.
