They better get them sorted then. Karin deserves all my money. And Rainbow too. They need to get Naruto's VA back to voice her.
 
All i want is Sodom since he was my main in the 3 alphas and since i got really salty for him being the only one missing from the a2 cast in sf4. Alex would be nice too since... he was the protagonist of 3,dude deserves more respect :/
 
Seeing Ryu and Chun-Li with their Street Fighter II designs doesn't give me much faith that they are going to do anything particularly interesting with the roster. Characters should be allowed to evolve and change but Capcom seems so afraid of what happened wit Street Fighter III that they won't even do anything interesting with the character designs. Terry Bogard from KOF/FF to Mark of the Wolves was perhaps one of the most perfect examples of character evolution in a fighting game series.

I expect just a repeat of Street Fighter IVs roster and character designs just with the roster cut to a third and like 3-5 new guys/gals for the first iteration. Expect Sakura to either STILL not have aged or to be a 40 year old middle aged woman running around in a school girl's uniform and flashing her red panties everywhere :/
 
I hope they keep the roster at 16 fighters for the first SFV. I think it's the max number to get familiar with all the characters.

SF3 had Chun and Ryu and their same outfits from SF2 as well. Well SF1 for Ryu anyway.
 
I hope if any two survive from SF4's series, it's Juri and Abel, in that order. I hope the original SF2 cast make it, including the Hyper additions. Cammy is my gal.

These would be my top choices from every series. I'm not really taking favorites into account(Guile, Vega are my favorites). But I rather have a fresh take on their styles like Charlie taking over for Guile and Geki for Vega. Just something new. I don't want another ten shoto's.

El Fuerte can GTFO and C Viper can stay as long as they change her game a bit.
 
If Karin isn't in the game I'm going to be annoyed. I waited through all of SF4 for her to be added, which included a popularity poll which she came in first in Japan and high world wide.

Aside from her I'd like to see Adon and Rose back. Also I'd prefer if some of the Street Fighter 2 characters were held back for later installments. It was annoying seeing them prioritized in SF4.
 
Juri. She's the only character I'm into; otherwise, I'll probably end up playing as Ryu.

Seeing as how concept art of Rufus was posted (And I think he looks better), I would've liked it more if capcom went with this concept they had of Juri.

Where do EX and ZEO series fit within the timeline of the games? I think last time I checked it went SF, SF:Alpha, SF2, SFIV, SF3, SFV?
 
This is probably the hardest part of the transition to a new SF game for many people. Knowing the character that you put so much time into and are emotionally invested probably won't be back. For me it's Evil Ryu. Yeah, he's just a shoto, no big deal right? It's just not the same. I bounced between Ken and Ryu for years during Vanilla and Super and neither really felt right to me. I always liked the idea of Evil Ryu and loved his look in SF4 so when AE came out I immediately switched to him. And he's almost everything I want in a character. It's going to be hard knowing that he probably won't return and I'll have to find a new character or go back to the same old Shoto I've been playing since 1992.

I wouldn't mind if they just took this design and made it into a new character. This and Concept Rufus are too good to go unused.
 
honestly id like a lot of new characters like street fighter 3 did but i doubt capcom would ever do something like that again. so id like a lot of the lesser known characters to get in the spotlight although capcom wouldnt ever do that again. so yay akuma, sagat, cammy, you're all in the game!

this rufus was so awesome. i wonder why they went with current rufus. absolutely no one likes current rufus design. no one. what the fuck were they thinking. seriously

Ken - i hope his crazy kicks being added to omega edition mean they are going to be in V
Akuma - watch him play diff to IV, be called weak and actually end up being top tier again

please capcom please dont add akuma. akuma is possibly the dumbest character in this series. "UGH IM EEEEVVVVIIIILLLL COME RYU JOIN ME IN BEING EEEEEEVIL." sf4 made him even worse by making him cheesy. i know for a fact akuma will be in this game. and i am sad.
 
I am disappointed that ryu and chun li havent change at all.

I was hoping they will have age both of them visually, like ryu having hair or stubble, more ragged etc

It will represent the series moving forward. And have the balls to have more new original characters.

they did that before, it can put series on life support if the fan base doesn't take to it, see SF3 and Soul Calibur 5. even the one game to do a time skip right and flourish in tekken 3 had a lot of direct replacement characters... Kuma II, King II, Julia into Michelle Chang, Marshall into Forest Law.... etc.

The changes in SF3 was too much. I was also hoping them to do a time skip. It will be refreshing to see guys like Ken/Dhalsim/Guile etc just chilling in the background while their kids replace them in the roster.

There are bunch of familiar NPCs like Haggar and the remaining of the dolls to replace some of the guys we have now. I think they will be able to do a fair mix of new and old characters if they want to.
 
I'd rehash the whole SFIV series roster and I'd add the remaining SFA, SF1, SFEX and specially SFIII chars (my favorites would be Alex, Oro, Remy, Charlie/Nash, Geki, Maki, Retsu, Karin, Kairi, Pullum, Allen, Skullomania, D.Dark.

Regarding new characters I'd include Goutetsu, Guy's master, Haggar and Ken's son as a teenager.

It would be nice if Capcom gave us every Street Fighter ever and then focused their future Turbo/Super/Ultra editions to be all new characters. It's nice to think about.

Yeah, I fear the same. My ideal scenario would be a SFIII type roster with a few returning characters to lay the foundation but new and fresh characters to give it its own unique feel. The chances of that might be astronomically low going by the current development climate focused on safe bets.

For returning characters I'd say Ryu, Ken, Alex and Chun-li should be enough (being used before as representatives of SFI - SFIII). I wouldn't mind seeing a few more returning ones, but I definitely don't want want to see people like Sakura, Cody, Akuma, Boxer, Sagat etc. without some form of redesign based on lore progression. If the game must have more returning characters, unused SFIII veterans in SFIV like Sean and Oro would be preferable to me to commonly used SFII and Alpha people. Oh, and we definitely need a better boss than Seth - so please no more hollow "moves borrowing" type boss characters Capcom.

In general people should be challenged to try new characters instead of keeping to their "mains" (a term I'm beginning to get tired of to be honest, almost as much as things like "OP" and "S-tier" that people like to use to indicate they've reduced the magic and joy of a fighting game to calculated effectiveness). I'm certain many here will disagree with me on that, Capcom included possibly, but that's how I personally feel.
