Uncharted 4 Gameplay Demo [Up: Sony - Was running at 30 fps]

No, its not.

This was on PS3/360 too. As good as the "NaughtyGods" are, they pale in comparison to Crytek

You know the thread has gone to shit when Crytek Evangelists start spamming those bald man with dead eyes pics in a thread. Only thing left for thread derail is the Order gifs if that has not happened yet.

This is some real life level of shit.

I have played Unity on PC and never came close to such realistic looking facial expressions. Kevin Spacey in Advanced Warfare is extremely good but has dead eyes syndrome.[/QUOTE]

All the cutscenes were pre rendered CGI in Advanced Warfare.

There is nothing in ACU that has never been done before but you going around saying it's best looking game ever so what is your point ?
If some people think UC4 is best looking console game so be it ( thought i think the order look better for now)

I have no bias towards Ubisoft. I don't portray their games to be instantly better looking than anything out there simply because they are Ubisoft. In fact, I hate Ubisoft in how they run their business.

ACU, IMO, has a leg up in graphics this gen because of the artistic direction in the game and the lighting. And that's all, so it's not a biased statement.

I think the real problem here is that Naughty Dog is not using a brand new engine. They are just using an upgraded version of the same engine they made all their PS3 games on.

To expect a HUGE leap this early on in the console life cycle is unrealistic. As years go by and they get better with the hardware and keep upgrading their old engine, it will improve.

To ME personally, UC4 doesnt look much better than The Last of Us on PS3. It's better, but not by a gigantic margin. Yes, the below is from a in game cut scene, but so are the screens people are comparing from UC4:

The IQ for I:SS is pretty insane given it's open world. First Light should be the same if not better. If you can find that thread of user screenshots, that's probably the best place for examples. First Light is free next month so you'll get to see it first hand.

I did play First Light, I love the arena mode, that's why I was asking :P

Seems silly to worry about graphics now, the game is still far out. I have no doubt it will look closer to the teaser trailer at release. We should be talking about the gameplay

That's such a polarized statement. That screen of MGS5 looks way better than the UC4 jungle presentation. Light propagation is evident in the leaves (there is none in UC4). Are you guys so drunk on seeing the first gameplay demo of UC4 that it just HAS to be better-looking than everything out there?

There was NOTHING astounding in that demo that hasn't been done before. The foliage is the best looking part of the gameplay. All the little subtleties are really nice touches but nothing that would scream "better looking". There are simply too many ND zealots defending their game even if it looks average for this generation. I've seen comments that it beats out AC:U, Order, Ryse, even have it compared to Pixar films.. the level of hype here is ridiculously biased.
I'm guessing you decided to edit this post after realizing your own biased opinions, especially in light of that AC:U hard on thread you made.

... and this thread has gone bat shit insane.

A team comprising of ICE team pales in comparison to Crytek (not going to take anything away from those awesome people)....?

Anyway, I'm done now that both KKRT and Cyberpunked have entered in full force (and some of the retorts to them are equally absurd). Time to add to Cyberpunked to my IL.

560 and a 2500k stock, unless I am forgetting KKRTs rig.

The game has more vegetation variety than just that single grass type... sigh.
Like I said I recently played Crysis 3 on max setting. Crysis 3 has very unnatural looking vegetation specially grass. Character interaction with grass is better in uc4 also. On the other hand Crysis 3 has better interaction as far as environmental effects go like wind and explosions. There appear to be no such thung in uc4 demo

I think it is rather similar:
I still enjoy uncharteds animation more though probably.
Uncharted 4 probably has a much better facial rigs than the ones in Crysis 3 but their animation is key framed. In a lot of cases key framed can't touch motion capture when it comes to video games. ND being one of the few exceptions. And that scene probably will be slightly altered in the final version to look better. ND's animators are quite meticulous.

I booted up UC3 multiplayer in anticipation for UC4 but then I realized what I'm to expect from the MP: microtransactions, tournies, and an update that'll bork the game for the remainder of it's lifetime. =/ And who knows what kind of current gen, Ubi-like practice they'll think up (companion apps and such).

in the story he is actually an alien. lol

Not if you notice that Psycho's face barely moves other than his mouth. With Draks Brother you get a lot more animation in the entire face that looks more natural and less stiff.

Light propagation or not, the Uncharted 4 footage simply looks better than the footage we've seen of MGSV, for the reasons I plainly pointed out in my post. It's not about one singular effect. UC4 demo pretty clearly has stuff that the Fox Engine games just don't have. It has a better form of the soft ambient character shadows they created for The Last of Us (an effect I've never seen in another game).

That is a great effect. Simply the best effect for ambient shadows to date. But TLOU had it last gen. And only now are we seeing it in other games like COD:AW. So while it was a cool invention, it's not exclusive to the PS4 or ND. It will be used by other studios.

It has more advanced foliage interaction.

Advanced foliage interaction doesn't make it "look" better. It only gives the player an impression that their character can affect things.

It has a more intelligent animation system, something that carries through and improves with every one of their games going back to Jak and Daxter.

You don't know how "intelligent" the animation system is in MGSV yet. It's not out.

The base assets are obviously higher fidelity (higher resolution textures, higher poly models, etc).

I can't tell that in screenshots. MGSV looks great to me! Especially that screenshot.

I mean, this is obvious stuff. MGSV is a cross gen,

Let's nip this myth in the bud right here.. Just because a game is cross gen doesn't make it destined to be inferior to an exclusive. We aren't dealing with cryptic hardware here. PS4 is the basic low-mid PC hardware we are dealing with now.

I've never said UC4 is better than everything out there. Weird to point at my post to bring that up.

I never said you did. But obviously if you read all the posts, the general consensus is that it is...

He has an angry face going, because of acting you know. When you are really pissed off you tend to not unfurrow your eyebrows.
The eyebrows move when he is acting lively and happy in other scenes...

If people considered that, then they should stop seeing ND as some kind of gods. UC looks okay for a game released in 2015, nothing more...

So basically you are saying you will stop posting irrelevant pics and bald guy dead eyes pics of horrible games made by Crytek if the whole forum accepts that UC looks average for a game released in 2015. Alright folks if that stops the derailing and we can talk about the demo , is everyone in agreement? Lol

Watched the trailer again today and wow this game seems like so much fun to play. I love the fact that the enemies jump after you.

its a stiff face which is really good animation but looks like game. this is like a pixelated version of avatar level animation

hahah yeah

You mean because his eye brows unfurrow?

There are two different emotions being shown...

I get the impression that UC4s looks better than C3s, you hope it would being 2 years later, but it does not look generationally different at all.

The rig to max out C3 should exceed the hardware powering the PS4. It would take a monumental undertaking to make C3 at max-settings to look "last-gen".

Yeah. I actually dont remember properly if they did that in the previous uncharted games. I think they did it very rarely and it was usually scripted. I am really loving the enemy AI here. Looks so much fun to take them out.

In one screenshotm, where he is staring directly into the camera his eyes look dead apparently. Have you at all watched andplayed the game with the characters looking around etc? They eyes dont look dead...

His point I guess is that it does not look generationally better than stuff before it. Especially if you compare it to Ryse, Crysis 3, or Infamous.

See postings like this get me all riled up. Stop with the massive levels of overexaggeration. Seriously. That sounds ridiculous when you throw the two gifs right next to eachother.

Exactly. People posting that this looks xxxx times better than anything before are just exagerating. Especially when games made two years ago have similar level of detail and animation. To reiterate though, I do think it looks better than Crysis 3... especially since I know it is hand animated apparently. But does it look better than the animation in Ryse or I: SS? meh, not really.
