Say goodbye to your little amiibo friends........

I'm going buy 3 Captain Falcon, Zelda, Ike, Pitt Amiibo from Wave 2. Alot of lesser known characters in that wave.

Pulling a Disney.

Only a few more years until they open up the vault to let these amiibo's out again.

I saw Wii Fit Trainer today and nearly bought it, thinking of exactly what I'd heard about its supposedly limited run. Then I realised, that's exactly what Iwata wants me to do. I don't even want Wii Fit Trainer.

Fuck them if this is true.

So when we get to the really obscure characters in the last wave, they will all sell out instantly? Something tells me they won't produce many Dr.Marios or Dark Pits.

can Nintendo be really blamed for limited supply after the catastrophic Wii U failure?

they probably made these thinking "we don't want to have too much leftover stock if this bombs" mentality.

It helps Nintendo as they're releasing amiibo in waves. By making a stand during wave 1, they've essentially told people to buy or miss out. That may translate to higher preorder numbers for amiibo in later waves.

That does not make since at all. (not you but what Nintendo is doing)

Oh btw since this thread has started the amazon page for Marth as gone up to 70 bucks lowest is 50 something

Okay, wtf!? First we get rumours they are discontinued, then we get someone from NoA saying they will ship more, and now we're back to discontinued? Did that NoA guy in the e-mail refer to the more popular ones getting more shipments then or what? This is driving me nuts! I want my effing Marth amiibo.

Nintendo gotta clear that shelf space Wave 2 about to drop. People better start preordering retailers like BestBuy,Walmart etc are not going to ordering large shipments of lesser Amiibo like Captain Falcon, Pitt, Zelda and Ike.

Nintendo released a new statement addressing the shortage of WFT, Villager, and Marth. They have a 3-part plan to make this right:

Step 1: 100 more of WiiFit Trainer, Villager, and Marth to be made and sold exclusively at Nintendo World Store in New York.

Step 2: Those waiting in line to be given complimentary baseball bats, book of matches, and roll of toilet paper.

Step 3:

The only Amiibos I want are Pit, Ike, Robin, captain falcon, Shulk and Jigglypuff. Those are not going to last long, lol! I better get to pre-ordering

Pre ordered little mac, captain falcon (whose amiibo is gorgeous btw), and Shulk. Will do the same for pit and Ike when i can. Marth has been a chore to find. Not taking chances with this.

Didnt we just had a response from an official that the three rare ones and the gcn adapter get restocked?
What is is now?
Thats bullshit...

Shelf space is a bullshit excuse. Maybe they get a pass on major retailers, but there are game stores out there with literally a wall of Nintendo plushies. My city has a game store with a floor dedicated just to Nintendo, with a dozen demo booths up constantly, and it's still fairly roomy..

Doesn't make it ok.

Lol, of course it's ok.
Nintendo is free to make as many or as little as they want,
if they want to lose out on money that's their choice.

This not being ok, and Nintendo being the evil understocker of thy favorite toys is a typical consumer mindset.

My Nintendo rep told me that the plan is to admit two potential buyers into a smokey backroom, a pair at a time, and then snap a pool stick in half and toss the pieces to the ground. The buyers then fight each other, and whoever is left upright and breathing gets to purchase the amiibo.

Also, Reggie will be present in the room, wearing that weird chainmail Bennett wore in "Commando."

Really wanted a Wii Fit Trainer. I dont even own a current Nintendo system. Just though it looked neat.

Do I buy one now before prices go completely nuts or just let it go?

It helps Nintendo as they're releasing amiibo in waves. By making a stand during wave 1, they've essentially told people to buy or miss out. That may translate to higher preorder numbers for amiibo in later waves and almost guaranteed sales of any 'rare' amiibo stocked by stores.

more like they told ebayers to camp out for releases.

and BLAM Marth Amiibo is now 75+ dollars.

Before this article you could have gotten an Marth amiibo for 35 dollars, But since I have been in this thread the price went up 110%. I have no words for this. Just sadness
